do you know why some lights are much dimmer
than others even in the same map?
these are a few steps apart btw
also the part that is very dark is not supposed to be so dark
this is how it's supposed to look
this happened in another map i tested too but i don't remember the name
it's not so bad since i can add light to the ceiling lights
i think its because the light updaters are stuck in the world geometry/model
the same issue happens in cs_office
i might come up with some way to automatically move them if they know they're stuck in something
oh this issue happened to my own map where the light is not inside the model but that was in a very early 32 bit version so idk

it's stuff like, walking away from light source and seeing shadows immediately disappear at random moment
ye thats culling in general, you can control how far away that happens but it will hurt performance
i hope that got fixed a bit, any settings different from default ruined my performance
disabling culling outright would fix it but we dont have the patches for it, and even if we did, it would destroy performance on a lot of maps
most of the stuff you're looking at is unmarked decal textures
you have to do those yourself

currently haveing dinner gimme a bit
it's the built in plastic material
(which the primitive shapes do use yeah)
they're most likely replaced in the usda, but the textures arent present

i wonder how good/bad these models and materials will look when people port them back to source
