How do I do the ingestion stuff and the normal map generation and whatnot? I looked up a video on how to ingest and it was in ravenholm, it made no sense to me in a GMod context.
that video is with the older toolkit but its the same case for every remix game
idk if you already mentioned this, but the light leakage issue was because the distance light is forced on by default in new rtx.conf files ๐

I think I got the ingest working, and now I'm just left with albedo maps. The tutorial for replacing textures says to select the roughness, normal, etc maps that I don't have. Am I missing something or can I just generate the maps in the toolkit?
This is on GM_Construct, for reference.
you can with the AI tools at the top right of the toolkit or use PBRFusion 3 (preferred method)

the confs can definitely mess things when carried between versions and such I've noticed
you should disable the setting that saves all Remix settings though. that's what keeps causing your confs to break over time

I have a crackpot theory where I make the top half of the image daylight with a horizon in the middle, then have a night image at the bottom
utilizing the rotating feature I could theoretically make a day/night cycle

it requires more responsiveness
NRC offers the most performance with balance of Quality

what happened to the utility that lets you make your playermodel cast shadows?
tfw ReSTIR forgets door handles can cast shadows
NRC is a step in the right direction but currently ReSTIR seems to cover the bases pretty well while NRC causes hiccups in other games

I see what you mean but IMO its on a per game basis, like Delta Force absolutely hates NRC but other games like SWAT 4 see a massive improvement from it
i have a personal vandetta against screenspaced shadows
and ray tracing
and the ReSTIR implementation has had a long time to mature. it's been in Remix since release. NRC was just added (and this was the first real implementation of it)
we'll see improvements to it with Remix updates ๐
Very true, its kinda crazy that we're some of the first to be able to implement these new features. Triple A games are gonna have to catch up if we figure out how to use them quicker than them lol

dxvk-remix-1.0.0-gmod is just the remix 1.0.0 runtime with gmod specific changes, its not the compat mod (it has a garrysmod folder as the binary module is tied to the remix version)
i didnt include it in the main release as it has stability issues versus pre-1.0.0

idk if this is cuz I didn't clean install (just overwrote the old gmodrtx version) but I'm kinda stuttering
that pool map doesnt really cull any entities and overwhelms the engine's render lists
you have to use the lowest render bounds settings to get less stutters but i cant prevent them entirely
btw you can see this in the console when it happens

you can try setting these and reload the map
but make sure to turn them back on for others
PVS optimizations can do the opposite of helping performance when maps render everything at once, which is what i think the pool map does, idk

could look at the reflex stats to see what exactly is stuttering at least. it shows issues with the engine too
its just the engine, its because we're making the render bounds of objects larger so the view frustrum doesnt cull them
it has the adverse effect of causing major engine bottlenecks since we're rendering too much at once
oh yeah it's definately just that map - I can't believe how FAST this is 
but this issue only happens in maps that dont use the PVS to cull stuff that isnt visible

Itโs noiser in some instances (dark scenes) but is instant and even more accurate than restir and nrc in some cases which is really weird

It looks too noisy and intense, you'll have to edit the height map to smooth it out, or lessern it's intensity
I think neural radiance cache made parallax have higher detail to match like when you render in reference mode
