i dont know if they actually fix the fire but it helps with stability using the portal version of those dlls for the march update

yeah that's the intention, you shouldnt have much to worry about wiping your gmod unless you have some specific config files, the game will redownload its addons when you launch it

i used the steam depot downloader to specifically download the bin folder from steam instead of the whole game but its a pain to use, i would recommend doing a fresh gmod install instead, i can try to make a mini guide though if enough people want to try it

@keen rivet hate to ping you but me and a few others have spent a good couple hours trying to reproduce working fire, no one here except you and gumball seem to have everything working. I was able to partially fix it with other addons that replace the original particles but maybe you could try your fix in a clean environment to help us debug?

all the cheaper stuff is about as fast other than RT perf

yeah the input lag is pretty nasty on higher levels
the issue is that lossless scaling needs a lot of gpu headroom and a high base fps to work as good as it can. its awesome for games that arent rtx remix lmao
also i recompiled one of portal 2's maps with LDR support
this game heavily relies on areaportals and they dont work correctly after recompiling so there are a lot of leaks
i tried decompiling without them too but no avail
yeah i realized so you need like a rtx 4090 for losses scaling to work good on rtx games esspacily gmod
i have desktop rtx 3070 and if i put it down below ultra perfomance i can feel the delay
yeah at that point i'd rather leave it on performance and just cope with the low fps without lossless

fps isnt the promblem its the quality the game looks like a vhs tape but you can still go ahead by all means its just if you want the picture quailty you see on youtube you need kind of a beast
RX 7600, with FSR ultra performance it'll hit 60fps
you sure its gonna work without a ray tracing gpu

im gonna try search more issues,if there are not more issues i do a complete walkthrough with hl2 gmod
the coast will have some buggy/broken textures as it blends a lot together for the terrain
there is terrain baking in remix but i find it often buggy and it kills performance
those might require actual map edits

idk how to instal portal runtime,i use the latest one,idk if that ones work
delete your existing d3d9.dll and .trex folder inside GarrysMod/bin and copy the d3d9.dll and .trex folder from Portal with RTX/bin to GarrysMod/bin
also try using my rtx.conf for it
maybe back up yours first if you have issues

ive been having that issue since day 1, except instead of crashing its just frozen on a load screen

they didn't put in my dynamic skybox scale calculator
so just set the scale to your map's skybox scale
it's usually 16
In almost all of HL2 it is a fixed 16

yeah that is not in the live version
In the live version you have the fixed scale only so you may have to fudge with the numbers there

I'd recommend using something like github desktop for cloning the remix fixes repo, that way it updates when you open the app instead of redownloading it on every update
