my attempt at using stable diffusion for PBR materials (not like octo tex, i generate a new albedo based of the original and then use photoshop/substance to make the PBR maps based off the new albedo)
i like smudges it adds ngl
adjusted the roughness a bit, definitely looks good now

insane detail when you zoom in on the SD one
though this one is much closer to the original texture

just using a merge of SD 1.5 models i've had for a few months
im not directly upscaling, im using img2img with controlnet/tile on automatic1111
it gives me a lot more granular control on what the output will be
manually made some heightmaps for the wood 🤤
its subtle but it really brings out the higher-res detail

Haven't tried using SD for any texture stuff, will have to see how it goes
if you're doing a manual workflow like mine, its a real pain in the ass lol
but it usually looks decent since there is a lot of manual labor

i've used it before but i've had some issues with controlnet consistency
Yeah it does have some strictness to it, but idk how it affects controlnet
You have to bake in loras and other things into the engine profile
im using the ultimate SD upscale script in img2img combined with controlnet/tile so I can still upscale 2K+ without having to worry about vram or artifacting
its very reliable

Cool little find - this map creator actually put a light source into these lightbulps, never seen that before 
He figured out later they wouldn't show well in game and put them outside to emulate the light

i tried wild west mines after some time and its running very bad da heck happened, it was the smoothest map before, the fps is fine when standing still but is destroyed when moving

The capture is REALLY drawn out - I wonder why they say "most enemies" and "some weapons" when it seems top to bottom. Like, why not just grab it all? I guess I'll see when I boot it up after ingesting.
are you generating height maps? will you also be posting the mod publicly somewhere? would really like to try it out
No height maps this time around
I might add them later tho. I'm using a script to auto replace all the albedo textures - the one that adds height maps subsequently adds a height map to everything so it kinda looks wonky. But I'll see, it's probably a skill issue on my end, probably gotta find a way to auto set it to 0.001 and go from there manually getting it higher for things that need it 🙂
And yeah! I'll add it to ModDb when it's finished so everyone can use it - it'll add PBR to all of Half Life 2, and susequently most of Gmod

So I'm gunna release the entire Half Life 2 PBR texture pack, but it's going to be as is. I went in a little and adjusted some glass, but that's about it. If you want a fine-tuned experience you'll just have to wait for the Half Life 2 Official RTX launch
Fine tuning this would kinda be a waste of time/put me in a rabbit hole of what else needs adjusting etc

Nah I think it's either my upload speeds or Moddbs upload speed. The mod's 30.4gbs in total, Moddb's limit is 51.2gbs

I mean I also have trouble with destructible maps just destroying my fps both in normal gmod and rtx so I think that's more of the game engine issue

Lemme know if there's like a flashing effect when the water gets in after breaking a window. For some reason it doesn't happen when you use the use the flood gates getting out of the ship, it only happens inside. Atleast for me 
I wasn't sure how to fix it - I made sure there was no water in my capture so none of the textures would overwrite Xenthio's water mod. I think it's remix just updating every frame water updates in the map maybe?

Some of the mods got updated to the new PBRify model because the original folders couldn't unzip - but I don't think I'll update the other ones that didn't have the unzip problem for now and kinda focus on making more maps 🙂

That one still has the older model, Gm_Assault, and Gm_Dropsdone got updated with PBRify 1.6.2 - BigCity got updated with 1.5.2 also

make it White albedo, full metallic and no roughness
Turn volumetric lighting on, you can set the strength by messing with the Albedo scattering options in Froxel settings if the fog is too much or too less

I dd a few fixes for the glass, not sure if I got all of it tho. Included Gm_Construct and Flatgrass, as well as Gm_Construct_RTX. Got all the Half Life 2 weapons and the Toolgun.
Made an rtx.conf for the files as well as CSS had a LOT of detail textures
Now to take a looong nap, my pc hasn’t turned off in 2 days 
Oh, this pack also has the new PBRify model, 1.7.0! It’s the best model yet 
dang like office glass? and its breakable shards? theres also two glass models one in assualt T base and the other at havana t base
Yeah! I got the windows, and the thin vertical ones. I also decided to do the wired unbreakable glass. I thought about leaving it, but it would turn a greenish hue and stuck out like a sore thumb - so I get the normal map on it and made it translucent

yeah I am as well. Most maps didn't crash as much until the newer applypatches.py

i don't think so, it's pretty random when it happens so im not sure how to find the underlying cause
i dont think its gmod itself, just the bridge, you can double check by looking in task manager when it freezes
gmod should still be running but the remix runtime bridge either is frozen or already closed

I went to update remix and now it crashes soon after if not right as I enter the game
I downloaded DXVK Remix and Bridge Remix, shoved the stuff in DXVK into the .trex folder, and shoved it into the gmod bin folder

went digging through some other files, never found a # anywhere
had one more go at it just going over each step throughly and I got it to work, no clue what I didnt to last time, however I'm back to square one, even on this fresh copy of gmod that I just remixed, after some time of being in game it just locks up

plus the version that started this whole mess continued to crash despite having them

So far in the toolkit I don't think there's any way to change the skybox. But, there's a ticket in to hopefully add that feature, I endorsed it lol. Heya guys! I seem to only be able to play at 2560x1440 maximum, I'm trying to launch the game in my native resolution (5120x1440) and it just freezes after 3 seconds in the menu. 2560x1440 works fine though
Is there any known fix to this or no luck yet?

How did you make a mirror for a specific prop? I tried making one but it converted all materials

When I captured the scene bia USD I used thr material tool and applied the cubemap material to a prop, then in the remix editor made that material a mirror, now I have a mirror material I can apply to anything

I tried some time ago and I couldn't get it to launch with a 7800xt with modded R.ID drivers just realized RDNA 2 is 6000 series lol
now I switched to a 4090 and it works fine
but I've seen people run it on steam decks so it's probably compatible

On moddb there's a conf files section for each game 🙂
we did a mass update a while ago to add rtx.conf files for almost all playable & partially playable games

I mean of custom conf files that the community can post as a project, to share out different configs which might have certain bug fixes or be stylized ^^

Here's one of mine for example, this rtx.conf specific to the counterstrike pbr mod I made, it helps sort out all the detail textures that would otherwise make half the world invisible 
The regular gmod rtx.conf does a good job with hiding detail textures, but no one's really added support for counterstrike ones until now

Portal RTX replacements are all stored in RTXIO packages and there's no way to access them as far as I know.
I'd like to know myself if there's a way though
you can roll back the version with steam depot downloader
or just do it with a command in steam

Yep U can change the colour and sun position, that's how I'm able to get sun set or sunrise time in all maps, plus lowering the sky box brightness aswell

volumetric lighting might be doing that, try disabling it
double check your texture quality settings

It wasn't that but I used the factory reset .bat, verified files and it's all working properly now, guess it was an issue with my config
rp_eastcoast4b with my custom reshade preset (all remix post-process is off)
dof also works when the depth buffer works

the skybox brightness seems low I think that's why the shadows look too dark and don't have a bit of bluish tint in them according to the sky color.
its at the stock skybox brightness, I think the fake map light is too bright
when I get the time ill adjust the settings and try a few other maps

It was a bug where you could activate minecraft rtx on Xbox
Since Xbox uses the same DXR api as windows
idk in tf2 if you run dust bowl atfer opening another map it will do this exact thing but if you freshly open up tf2 and run dust bowl before running any other map it runs stable.
