I tried disabling all my mods but none of gmods default maps load and navigating the invisible menus is a nightmare, I doesnt help that I cant select bigcity and enable it
as of now I am completely stuck, might have to reinstall gmod and start from scratch

Okay 2 things
first up
put these next to hl2.exe (at the root of Garrysmod folder)
then, for some reasons, default maps don't work properly, for me, so i use these maps:

i noticed in the default file in the github repo we cand do some tweaks, if your rtx.conf file works for you, imma try to make tweaks of DXVK for my config
if i can get a few FPS here and there, it's always good !
the volumetrics are very strong in ma config so just open the froxel radiance settings and set the transmittance measurement to 20000 or more

All I have done with my editing is take the already present textures in the game and bump the Roughness and Metallic levels for testing, and culling I haven't touched, to be honest.

open the remix menu then go to game setup tab, open categorize textures menu and just hover your mouse arrow to mr bean and the menu should automatically detect him, then just click on mr bean and set him as decal or particle texture

the only situation I'd imagine that kind being used irl are in laboratory setting and high humidity, where you wouldn't want to stick your shoes on the moist floor, it collects too much dirt

like it's bright inside, but the outside is just so overwhelemed by the sun that it darkens it
skybox and snow textures could do with some work

Well go to Garry's mod/garrysmod/Lua/menu/ find menu.lua (I think that's the name otherwise main) And open it via notepad and delete The whole of Include loading Lua or whatever it's name is. Then save it and then find background.lua open it via notepad and find Should background update after finding it you will see Return and bunch of written after it below Should background update, Delete whatever is after Return and write false in place of it like Return false.

Shadermodel 0, deleted generic shader, used the applypatch thing, made the settings in the runtime like in the video
And used the launcher to start, and are on the 32 but version and not 64 bit?
On steam you’ll right click gmod, go to betas, and make sure it says none - if anything in the betas tab it might mean ur on the 64bit version

While trying some maps, i found out that fog makes everything weird and grey, if you have the same problem just write "fog_enable 0" and "fog_override 1" in the console

Dxlevel can be anything aslong as shadermodel is set to 0 in dxvk.conf
It's only dx9 to silence the low dxlevel warning

if u disable alpha blended on that map it will not disappear but the fps will still be 5
hmm some part of the map is still disappearing even if alpha blended is off
even without pbr materials this is almost on par with those ultra-realistic ue5 tactical shooters.
though the brush geometry definitely gives it away as well

on a asset level its nowhere close to it i know, what i meant is strictly the lighting
open remix menu and u will see Alpha Test/Blending option, open it and u will see the Render Alpha blended untick it

I just noticed that every assets from other games don't load properly (at least csgo assets), the map is working properly without remix, but with it a lot of stuff just don't show up, it's "Insertion2 dawn" if someone wanna try

Flag the texture as playermodel texture
tried that but the insurgency weapons use the same model for both first and third person, so setting it as that messes up the first person model
oh ok i fixed it, needed to set the model as a decal texture aswell

scrolling up,i found rtx,conf and dxvk.conf from xenthio and put those in, installed portalrtx and replaced the stdshader_dx6 and dx7, and installed rtx remix fixes and fuck 'em halos

i think mwbase doesn't work for the same reason it doesnt work with the reshade force-a-depth addon: my guess is that it renders on a seperate layer from the game

not sure if tfa works, I use Killing Floor 2's weapons for some similar sexy animations, another one is Project Fortuna for ArcCW if those work, but I usually install Shibe Weapons, not the best animations but good amouint of good looking guns and no base required at all

man, this is so confusing
the only pattern i could discern was that the addons that don't show up are installed into the steam workshop folder instead of the game's addon folder
but even placing them into the directory dosen't make em show up
the files are fine, they just don't get recognized by remix

did you do it by adding the .gma file?
if so then try dropping the .gma file on gmad.exe (it's in GarrysMod/bin), and put the folder that appears at the place you got the gma into the addons folder
oh just realsied you said it doesn't get recognized by remix, not game itself

i used crowbar to decomp them and even placing the original files into the game's folder
but ingame the console logs that the .mdl files didn't load
im guessing those models have broken bones
...that work on normal gmod?
i've had an opposite problem actually, setting a texture as ignored texture in the dev rtx builds, and not saving makes the textures gone forever
though it doesnt happen on release ver, except ones that had textures altered in the dev builds

Hi guys I am trying to launch the game and install the lua menu but every time I try to join a server whilst it is loading the game crashes. I have tried to load into the game without the .bat and it does work.
too many mods dont work with remix
its suggested to play singleplayer due that with only few mods installed
So servers won't work?
they do wrk ive joined some even intense ones with 64 players like ZM servers, is it also crashing when loading a map in Single player?

it's hard to explain but
it's basically two ways of getting the same result
Xenthio does it through remix mods, im assuming you gumball are doing it through just simple texture replacements with addons
im still experimenting with the way i made mine, so i'll come back if i get results-

the texture itself isnt animated ingame so you can add your sprite sheet on the toolkit

happens right at the division between positive/negative coordinates of the world origin; on the Texture Coordinates debug view there's a lotta flashing
sumthin similair like that happened to me, it was cause one of the water texture was different from the rest of the water textures, idk if that happened here

Portals are more than just a flat plane
pro tip: if you don't want the red console logs on the top left of the screen, type developer 0 in the console and they'll go away
you can apply portal material to it
and would work like portal rtx

little tip: marking thigns like these little items as "particles" actually works really well, boosts fps by quite a bit while not changing much
Open Rtx Remix Menu and go to game setup then open up parameters, Then light translation and see if Directional is ticked and fallback radiance is set to always, If it is then untick Directional and set fallback radiance to Never

Well u can disable Volumetric Lighting in Froxel Tab or Game Rendering in remix menu or Mess with the Settings in Froxel Tab to get whatever type of the fog u want

above 60 fos on balanced DLSS woth a 3070 laptop is enough tough
-windowed -noborder add this into your gmod launch properties
