this is basically what I use for HL2

it is also recommended to run Source Engine games with -insecure launch option to avoid any risk getting VAC banned for using dlls etc from remix

nope I was using the launch options but ill try using a .bat file instead

lots of trials and errors until game boots, at least
then another series of trials and errors till you get it stable and working decently hehe
