I think 1-3 years is either optimistic or pessimistic. I just had claude code write an entire microservices banking infrastructure with only a few correction prompts on --dangerously-skip-permissions. I also just created a 3-dimensional version of pacman 50% generated (initial maze/setup) and 50% vibe coded (corrections, add ghosts, ghost behavior). Meanwhile Windsurf ate itself -- o3 couldn't remember what it was doing in a given turn... I think we are already here. Also don't forget this was always financial not technical. So long as we're getting subsidies from anthropic -- there is no reason to buy requests from windsurf/cursor... am I wrong?
