VSCode.

For common languages (TS / Python), you can use @ in chat to mention specific functions / classes.

We do not have a general solution for this, your current approach of selecting, explaining, then chatting works but we can work on making it more streamlined. Thanks for the feedback!

This approach is not applicable for custom code snippets that includes part of all (function, classes)...

Ah yeah unfortunately true. So you're desired workflow is to be able to select some text then right click (or hit a keyboard shortcut) to start chatting about the code snippet?
