Hm you are correct. Disabling this should disable chat. Can you confirm that you still see chat as enabled after reloading the VSCode window? Also are you using VSCode or an open source version like VSCodium or Code - OSS?

I am using vscode. It doesn’t disable the chat. However when I disable telemetry from my vscode to off then the chat doesn’t work
