Clicking on an enemy ship group prior to a fleet battle allows you to see that group's stats.
Clicking on an enemy ship during a fleet battle allows you to view its stats and target.
Clicking reset with an enemy ship selected will have the enemy ship still shown in the planning step, along with a "Deploy Ship" button, which deploys a Difficulty 1 version of the ship group for 10 fleet resources.
