#Crew: notification for unspent rank points

what if you get more than 251 rank points(doesnt happen in game yet)
i was thinking, what if instead of "apply previous" we had something like research cores. you pick some stats to "auto add"
most crew builds are effectively "unlock skill A, skill B and skill C, then spread points evenly in them"
or the same but just for B and C.
as long as it's a disablable option, then I like this idea. But after 150 crew points I'm too lazy to spend the rest when the skills wont matter
Maybe 3 options.
- Don't flash
- Flash with unspent points.
- Flash with unspent points only when there are partially filled sections.
Though I'd much prefer being able to rank the 6 sections and have it auto fill them in that order. Maybe with the ability to rank them "0" so they'll never get points even if it means leftover points.
the "evenly distribute as possible" scheme could handle that part too for what it's worth. you include the capstone as an "Auto Add" or you don't
Okay I'm officially giving this too much thought, but what about if you could assign a weight to each of the 6 "things" (what are they called? Skills? I'm going to call them skills) in each crew member. That number could be anything from 0 to 9999 or whatever. When deciding where to put a Rank Point, weight/(current+1) on all 6 Skills and put the Rank Point in the skill with the highest calculated number.
why would you need numbers higher than the number of skills?
Because I'm anal and want to assign say 7000 points to one skill and 3000 to another, and 1 to a 3rd one. The first 2 will populate in a 7/3 ratio until they are full and then the 3rd one will start getting things only once they're done.
the builds I've seen don't require that.
rather it's "max this, then this, then this" or "evenly distribute these, then do this one."
I know nothing of builds I just would like it. Not saying it's necessary or anything I just had to say what my brain came up with or it wouldn't shut up 😄
If one skill will give you +2000% and the other will give you +4000%, you're better off assigning points in a 1:2 ratio than 1:1
LIkely it's just not a big deal and far easier to say "just evenly distribute them"
I don't observe any real diminishing returns on the skills. The rank point gain, yes, the skills themselves, no.
I do like the ambition. Even with the simpler ranking method, it's already a much more complex "Autobuy" than anything else in the game, though
The diminishing return is because the 1st Skill point you buy gives you a bonus when you had none. The second one doubles that bonus. The third gives you 50% more (of the total), etc. By the 50th click, you're adding the same linear amount but it's a tiny percentage increase. If you instead bought a new percentage increase in a different skill you'll get a massively better boost than you would have by putting the 50th point into the first skill.
The trick is deciding when you stop on the "better" skill and put one in the "worse" skill.
based on the calculator someone made: even distribution.
as I just learned from flc, #r1 message if one of the bonuses is very small (less than 2x for 1 rank point) then it can be worth being slightly uneven
but only by like 1-3 points. and by the time you have points to distribute it pretty much only applies to XP
yeah when we bothered to math it out the best you could do with a 2 point split was a few percent better than if you had gone all evenly (starting with the biggets bonus)
