In r2, got to lvl 74 and unlocked capital ship, immediately got access to capital research. Restarted the game (related to fixture speed) and now the capital research in research tab is not showig. Well, I don't have access to the updgrade on base 5 yet. But some work on the research itself was done and the effects are there.

Possibly no, but cant give 100% certainty. Close to it though.
