As per title. From what i've read, someone managed to contribute a working driver into an older kernel for Arch.

I'm not particularly sure if this would mean anything cuz last i've seen, Creative hasn't played ball very nicely with Linux in terms of drivers.

I've found some posts relating to linux drivers:

But they're not in a form where I can use them in vanilla os 2

turns out alsa-utils needed to be installed in the host-shell so that alsamixer could be used to set the volume. for some reason, by default the audio channels from sound blaster cards in this era are set to 0. I can only imagine its because of compatibility reasons.

that being said, it's pretty buggy and the sound drivers don't immediately work after startup.

had to go to pulseaudio and switch its profile configuration around to get it to work right
