sometimes my source image is already a highres or high megapixel image/photo and i just want to apply style/creativity/lora etc - and would be happy to have 1x as a option or even less than 1x as source may be quite high - how is this handled for us artists with this kind of workflow with invoke

Can you share what size you’re talking about? Are you talking about the upscaling tab or canvas?

i have portraits at about 20mp that id be happy to have reduced to 10mp or leave as is and apply styles such as "renassance oil painting" style while keeping the identity and content mostly true but stylized - would i do this in upscale or canvas

Mmmm. Doing style transfer at a smaller size like the canvas and then upscaling that is probably your best bet for quality
