#Need help with dynamic prompts

I was following this guide: https://invoke-ai.github.io/InvokeAI/features/PROMPTS/?h=#dynamic-prompts

if I remove the 2$$ prefix from 2$${opt1| opt2| opt3}, aka {opt1| opt2| opt3} then I get
