#Overdub Clip in Audio Track

What:

In an audio track you can currently press record, then an empty pad and it will start recording.

If you could in the same manner: press record, then an already recorded pad/clip and it would overdub the pad that would be fantastic!

Why:

IMHO it would greatly mitigate the 4 track limitation because you could infinitely stack song elements for each clip in a single audio track.

Use Cases:

  • Build vocal harmonies by overdubbing multiple takes onto one clip
  • Layer percussion or melodic elements

Maybe the sample record button could be used for overdub, to give us the option but avoid accidentally overdubbing a clip that was just recorded.
