#Drum sampler: Easier access to filter

Filter frequency is one of the most (if not the most?) used performative parameter of most electronic and instruments and it is strangely hidden behind 3 to 4 steps to access it on the drum sampler.

Tweaking the filter on the drum sampler currently requires:

  1. shift + select sample (if you dont want to trigger it. ie. if its played from a sequence)
  2. shift+wheel
  3. scroll wheel
  4. filter knob

And you also have to press "back" to go back to the other performance parameters (envelope, effects). This all add a lot of friction to have fun tweaking the sound and not overthink, which seems to go the opposite way of the design philosophy of this (amazing) device 🙃

I suggest this could be solved by one of these options:

A) Put the filter & setup page on the same level as the kit/sample/fx1/fx2 hierarchy
(My favorite option, its already easy and intuitive to navigate using the wheel)

B) Change some of the parameters location to keep the performance oriented one in the main page
Sample page:

  • Transpose
  • Start
  • Attack
  • Decay
  • Filter frequency
  • Resonance
  • Sample FX1
  • Sample FX2

Setup page:

  • FX type
  • Filter type
  • Hold
  • Envelope mode
  • Choke
  • Velocity dest
  • Velocity value
  • Pan

I like your suggestion but I would vote to have transpose on the setup page and have FX stay on 1st page

I’d like a global filter for the whole drum rack too!
