When working with samples in Live we already have options like Slice to new midi track. This option would add a menu item within Live to take a sample and chop it into however many slices we want to (up to 16). Saying this now as I am doing the somewhat tedious work of chopping 11 longer samples into 16 slices each, consolidating them, and dropping into each drum sampler, then saving, then exporting.
