Hello,

I'm using local deployment and while developing i suddenly got a popup in the right bottom corner saying "that the convex dashboard has an update please refresh the page" something along these lines. After refreshing the page now I get this error in the convex dashboard:

We encountered an error loading this page.

Please try again or contact us at [email protected] for support with this issue.

Hi @pseudo stump. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not contain specific information about the error message you encountered in the Convex dashboard after refreshing during a local deployment, nor about the meaning of the "Event ID" or steps to resolve this particular dashboard error.

However, based on related issues, here are a few general suggestions:

  • Refreshing the dashboard is sometimes required after updates, and in some cases, a hard refresh (clearing cache) or restarting the local deployment (npx convex dev) can help resolve dashboard issues.
  • If the problem persists, it may be a temporary issue with the local backend or the dashboard itself. You can try stopping and restarting your local deployment.
  • If you continue to encounter the error, the message suggests contacting [email protected], which is consistent with advice given in similar situations in the knowledge sources.
  • There is no documentation in the sources about the meaning of the "Event ID" or a public status page for Convex local deployments.

If the issue continues, reaching out to Convex support with the Event ID is the recommended next step, as suggested in the dashboard message and in the knowledge sources for unresolved or persistent errors Convex Local Dev Deployments failing.

If you have more details or logs, feel free to share them, and I can check if they match any known issues in the knowledge sources.

Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
