There should only be two possible reasons for that, at least from what I remember!

• You cannot edit messages if your account is detected as a minor. This can be resolved by verifying your age first.
• Only the two most recent messages are editable; any messages beyond those cannot be edited
  A small addition as well: if you’re using a VPN, try disabling it for the time being, as it may block certain features...

Basically everything that you have pinned will show that it’s pinned once it reappears. If you can’t see them at the top of your list, then it is literally gone (who knows where), so whatever you hide will most definitely be the ones that aren’t pinned at all (unless it shows the pinned symbol, of course) and the more you hide, usually the more pinned chats will start to show itself again.

Personally I start from the very bottom of the list and begin hiding those bots since they’re at the bottom of the list for a reason; they’re unused chats, so it wouldn’t matter if I hid them/removed them from the list

Also, if you hide a pinned chats by accident, but end up finding that exact chat again and managed to talk to it again, it’ll reappear in your list as still pinned

I used to be able to edit the chatbots just fine when the update came out. plus i am not even a minor. I am not even a minor. its only today when it wouldn't let me. There are even people who are still having the issue of verifying, and when they send a support ticket. The only emails that are sent to them are the ones with the same instructions as the ones on the website.
