is there a way to ask qns without using any kind of pronoun (as long as it's grammatically correct, idc if it's convoluted)
(inspired by someone who claimed that pronouns are "made-up", which they are, but certainly necessary in language)
What does The word-Skibidi mean?
It’s brainrot- something stupid from the internet that normally people aged 4-13 would find hilarious somehow
I don’t even know what it means, but it came from that one ‘skibidi toilet’ thing
The world itself is popularized by the YouTube series called “S k i d i b i toilet” by a YouTuber named DaFuqBoom, a gmod animation YouTuber. It's, for some reason, popular among many children and some adult alike.
The word can be traced back to a song called “CHUPKI vs KRUSTA” by FIKI before it suddenly became popular due to memes.
But yes, the word doesn't hold any meaning.
Tente usar sites como o duolingo para obter ajuda, faça aulas com as pessoas daqui e não se preocupe em não aprender rápido o suficiente. Aprender línguas leva tempo para todos, a menos que a inteligibilidade mútua seja elevada (espanhol vs português, pelo menos na leitura).

There is a website that explains it pretty well. If you want i can DM it to you cause idk if the server accepts links :))
DMs shall do then.
They did not retaliate in kind; there were three reasons for this: entreaties from their ally which depended on Incense exports, the earlier Hoag's Convention, and (misguided) moral obligations to their own population.

What’s cooked, and cook. Like the slang?.. How would I use them?
Stop I’m actually being deadass 😭
There’s a few meanings, and it can be a little annoying because they mean opposite things.
Sometimes, ‘cooked,’ ‘cook,’ and ‘cooking,’ can mean someone is making/doing something amazing.
You might see the expression ‘let bro cook,’ to indicate that person is about to do something amazing, or said something very intelligent. ‘I’m cooking,’ and ‘he cooked,’ indicate the same thing, that something awesome was/is being made, said, or done.
However, ‘cooked’ specifically can also be used to say someone is in trouble. ‘Bro is cooked,’ or ‘you’re so cooked,’ can mean he has done something foolish and is in trouble/screwed. This is often used in the past tense, to indicate something you did will get you into trouble.
“YOU’RE COOKED.” - pretty much ‘nah you’re screwed’
“LET HIM COOK!!” - often times making something good
in the ACTUAL terms, it’s just the process of making food p much
omg when was this added to the dictionary
(be cooked)
be in an inescapably bad situation:
"if I can't talk to him I'm cooked"
NORTH AMERICAN ENGLISH
informal
perform or proceed vigorously or very well:
"the band used to get up on the bandstand and really cook"

is there any way to ask a question without using pronouns
I mean, kinda if the questions aren't directly addressing someone?
Like:
- “How's the weather?”
- “Is the car new?”
And questions that address people by their names like:
- “Is John sick?”
- “Why won't Cassandra come here?”
But really, if you are addressing someone (whether it's directly or indirectly), pronouns are used almost always. Without pronouns, it would sound weird like if you are talking in third person.
That's my thought on this matter.
"How"/"Why" are interrogative pronouns; i forgot about "is"!

こんにちは。私は日本から来ました。英語を勉強中です。どなたか私を助けてくれませんか?
私は力になれる (I can help)
Buenas
ありがとうございます。英語の基礎と重要な単語の意味を学びたいです。たくさんのサーバーでそれらの単語を使っている人がたくさんいます。
もちろん、具体的には?
よく分かりません。英語の辞書にはたくさんの単語が載っていると聞きましたが、どこから始めたらいいのか分かりません。
挨拶や 「How are you? 」などの問いかけなど、簡単な基本から始めるべきだ。
フォーマルな世界というのは、仕事以外では誰も使わないので、英語では心配いりません。
わかりました、やってみます。how are you? こんな感じですか?
そうですね!とてもいいよ!とはいえ、普通は 「Hi, how are you? 」と言うだろう。
人と話すときに挨拶は大切だ。HelloやHiを使うことができる。
うーん、ちょっと考えてみましょう。hi, how are you? そういうことですか?
その通りだ!このような会話では、誰かが 「I'm good, how are you? 」か 「I'm fine, how are you?
Ong, Ong. We are so english'in today.
cough

I want to learn something like Russian but I don’t think I’d physically be able to because of the different letters, that’s why I stuck myself with German😭
I'm doing math with a bot rn and what does "Brüche" mean in English? I don't trust Google with that..
Brüche apparently means fractions, but don’t trust me, I used google
Thanks :DD
Np :D
yea like the person said it means fractions
English huh
Yesn't
Its never to late to learn it btw
Realising no matter how good you can speak English, you still don’t know what an adverb is, or how to find verb, noun, adjective in a sentence
It’s a pain in the ass
And I continue to fail English tests and exams
real
Help 💀
I can’t do this. My English teacher has the worse pronunciations that made me fail my dictation
0.5 marks til I reach the average passing score 50
Peace out
linguistics :(
gen what are adverbs
Finally
Verb modifiers
Word+ly
@daring pelican Like this example
There are many adverb types, and not all of them end with a -ly.
Your example is adverb of manner (like quickly, deeply) even so, some adverbs of manner don't end with a -ly. (like fast)
Others are
- Adverb of time (soon, later, immediately, etc...)
- Adverb of frequency (always, never, usually, etc...)
- Adverb of place (here, there, near, everywhere, etc...)
- Adverb of degree (too, very, really, etc...)
Nvm, "Finally" is an adverb of time.
I wanna learn german but I’m scared, does anyone have any tips/websites that could actually help?
Classic:
YT: Easy German +
Website: Dw learn German + a random Dictionary + a lot of reading.
Website free4talk
Fact, btw.
Thank you guys!
You can also use Duolingo
May not be the best or ideal way of learning, it sures help you to not lost track
What is descendant? I think ik what it is but at the same time idk
like someone or something that came from something else, like you could say King Charles is a descendant of Queen Elizabeth II
Guys can yall tell me what does " preference" means
when you like one thing more than another. you could say 'i have a preference for pizza over pasta'
I’m trynna learn German, can someone tell me when/where you use commas?😭
This probably won’t help, but it’s to prefer something, like, I like chips, but I would Prefer pizza
Meaning I have a preference for pizza/I like them both, but I like pizza more or want it more
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAY GOD BLESS U 🙏
too, quite, always, often, somewhere, everywhere
There real learning English?
Yeah
Why is there a English learning channel lol
Not everyone in this server is form the uk or America, you can’t expect everyone to know a language no matter how common it is
I know english!! Yay!!!
random thought: what's the difference between rotund and round
One has a "t" in it.
Case closed.
Case reopened.
I forgot rotund was a word ngl
I looked it up and it said (for a person) - round or plump, or (of a lisestyle) -sonorous or grandiloquent (???)
Case un-reopened.
The explanation didn't suffice.

they seem to hv the same word origin too, why would it be different
grandiloquent≈grand (extravagant)
I hate English so much tbh, I don’t even understand my own language
orotund (why is this a word) speech is unnecessary! why use "rotund" when "round" does the trick /gen
I’d say that we should just remove dumb words from the English dictionary but then my English teacher can’t yell at me for not being creative with my words
I say we do it
It sounds more fancier.
i know this is gonna seem weird but can someone tell me what 'pronunciation' means
like im actually confused
how is a word supposed to sound like
Like nation is "Nay-shin"
ohhh
How do I pronounce stereotypical?
That would be something like: "steer-E-O-tip-ickle" :))
TYYY I keep pronouncing it “sterotypically” 😭
Yes of course!:)
that is an actual word/variant of stereotypically
Oh
adverb version to be exact
What is nestle? Does it have more than one meaning?
It's the verb version of the noun "nest" which you probably are already familiar with.
-
"Nestle" means the act of snuggling or huddling comfortably within or against something. (Yk, like blankets or arms)
-
Another meaning (according to Oxford Languages) is "being situated in a half-hidden or sheltered position", and used to describe places.
Nestle is also the name of certain shady company.
Oh you finally drew Titanic
Thanks! Can u explain more abt the other meaning btw
(sorry) i just dont get it (u dont have to lol)
what? without the e?
Think of lonely, small peaceful house on top of the hill. It's sheltered from the public, meaning nothing from the outside is there to disturb its peace.
So like, in a sentence "The small wooden house nestled on top of a hill, safe from the cruel world."
It's not limited to just a house of course.
- A cafe
- A village
- A bookstore
- A cottage
- Ancient ruins of an city
It can be used with any places. You get the idea.
TLDR: A place that is situated comfortably in their surrounding.
THANKS

No problem.
I love spreading misinformations online..
Woah woah..
I made a mistake; I meant 'stereotypical'.
What does "what it is" mean?
it is what it is (i.e. it cannot be changed and should be accepted/taken at face value)
what is "serendipity" ?
basically events that occur in a good way or good time, it’s kind of hard to explain so I suggest you search it up if you’re more curious.
wukeh

Help
yep
i can teach you a bit of italian if you want
- Thou <Subject> means "You".
- Thee also means "You" but as an <Object>.
- Both Thy and Thine <Possessive Adjective> mean "Your". Thine is used before a vowel sound.
- Thine can also be used as a <Possessive Pronoun> which means "Yours".
Thank you so much! Really helped!
Sorry, I made a mistake there.
"thine" can also means "your", and used before a vowel sound.
Similar to how a and an are used.

Also, if you really want to speak like Shakespeare:
When using the "-eth" suffix, just know that it's still around. It's the -s at the end of some verbs.
"She hits the ball" = "She hitteth the ball"
What the hell does hitteth mean
Basically 'hit', but in an old English or Shakespeare-styled way of speaking
Early modern english?
Yeahh
Ðis bið Eald Anglisc. Eald Anglisc bið ðis tunge.
Shakespeare spoke Early Modern English
So it is early modern english?

I've been learning Italian for the past- I don't know. But I'm not exactly a fast learner. I can understand it, I can type it- but I can't speak it because I have such a country accent🫡

Fr
Is that HOMESTUCL PFPF
YEAH
Yeah, rubbers
👍
I would appreciate that a lot!
I already Mastered English
Why is it spelled liar, and not lier?
Im learning
Long story short, it probably has to do with the fact that modern English is basically what happens when you take a West Germanic language, mix in some Scandinavian Germanic and Celtic influence because Vikings and the Celts being the initial inhabitors of England, then have it go through 3 centuries of Old Norman French rule, giving it more influences, and let it rest for a few centuries
Also, 'lier' is coincidentally a word, meaning: to lie (such as lie down or lie in wait to launch an ambush)
Omg, I'm currently learning Japanese on Duolingo
But there is a bot in learning Japanese
I don't wanna use that bot because ik I'll procrastinate and I love the japanese culture
Kon'ishiwa Hansamu
I will give you a Hagu🫂
Can someone help me speak French
Here I am! Tu as besoin d'aide ? :D.
Oui.
I already learned the simple parts of French like the 1st, 2nd and 3rd category of verbs. The articles, ye. ._.
I am a beginner I guess
Oh! It is a good begginging. Learning french might be difficult but the moment you learn simple things it becomes easier and easier, with what could I help you with?
How to start a long sentence in French
For example?
Also I am confused, these both mean “how are you” right
- Comment allez-vous?
- Comment ça va
-Comment vas-tu
I need the difference
miwling.
Comment allez-vous is mostly used for some older people or like teachers, it shows respect towards the person.
And comment ça va or comment vas-tu is mostly used for friends and people you know, could also be used around family.
Alr thank you
You are welcome!
can we vote to remove words from the english language

L'anglais est trop difficile à parler 24h/24 et 7j/7😓
Ouf, je comprends.
Mais moi à ce point l'englais devient ma langue maternelle 😔
Oh, j'ai remarqué on a le même prénom
English is hard. Je ne pense pas que je pourrai un jour parler anglais couramment. Et Sofia n'est pas vraiment mon nom. C'est Zoe mais je m'appelle Sofia. On m'a appelée Sofia presque toute ma vie parce que mon père déteste mon nom.
Oh!
😭
Les deux prénoms sont très jolies moi je pense ! 💗
Et l'englais est bien sûr difficile a s'habituer avec.
It's already good! Trying is the best way.
Yes. American people are very not okay with me in my school😭
I don't want to flex or anything like that, but I am learning 8 languages at the same time which is a big problem for me 🫨
Oh wow, I only know German, english, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
My dad is big on languages
C'est trop cool!
Я немного знаю русский. Это сложный язык для изучения. Но я совершенствуюсь в этом
Apprendre les langues est fatiguant
Je comprends parfaitement.
J'ai à peine commencé l'espagnol alors que je commençais juste a parler les 7 autres langues correctement.
Ooo
Heureusement l'espagnol est un peu facile à comprendre si tu connais déjà L'italien
Agreed. They are somewhat very similar
Yeah!
American school is scary😓
I should assume that your English is already pretty good!
Oh gosh, I am going to move in America. It's going to be so hard 😔
I'm very happy to hear that
Everyone is my school is not like french people I guess
They make fun of my accent, sorry I not speak good english? 😭
Hoping the School system will be at least alright 🙏🥲
Good luck to you friend
Moi les gens en France rigole de mon accent Russe/Moldave 🥲
Thanks! You too!
Les gens se moquent de tout le monde maintenant. Je ne sais pas vraiment pourquoi, mais ils doivent vraiment apprendre à se respecter.
Thank you
I believe in you!
Я верю в тебя!
Eu cred în tine!
It was a nice talk speaking to you. Get good sleep! You are a very nice person! Good night

Hello whos the teacher?
i want to learn english because i dont know english
wait-
Here's uhh your first lesson
Whenever you refer to yourself you should capitalize the "i"
and when ur gonna write "whos" it's preferable for you to say "who**'**s", since that is the mix of the words 'who' and 'is'
CONGRATULATIONS
Thank you!!
While we don’t have teachers in specific, you can ask us questions you have about the English language and we can get back to you with the answers!
Absolutely awful, sometimes I have to use translation
🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
unless youre me, i always speak in lowercase (with some exceptions)
I can't put ' frequently because my keyboard has a malfunction
I have to copy and paste when I want to use.
Ok, Thank You!

In French is it true the verbs has 1st category, 2nd category and 3rd category
Yes, good luck figuring all of that out, if you're learning French 😭
Yeah. I think the 1st group is verbs ending in -er, the 2nd is -ir, and the third is everything else.
Is there someone French here who can confirm?
Most of them follow this rule :>
The particularity of french is that even some verbs in -er are in the third group. Like the verb 'aller', which means to go. But yeah, you're right :>
Yes, there are 'er', 'ir', and 're' verbs
Examples of 'er' verbs: écouter, jouer, nager
Examples of 'ir' verbs: finir, choisir, obéir
Examples of 're' verbs: boire, dépendre, répondre
I know
(Sorry late reply) If i am correct, i think all verbs (infinitive base) end in -er, -ir, or -re. I havent seen verbs that have a different infinitive ending, but i may be wrong.
how to say hi
why is there a specific word "defenstraction" for throwing someone out of the window? that's... oddly specific
You are judging
How do I use them or when do I know how to use them? ._.
What the sigma
"de" meaning "down from" and "fenestra" meaning "window", I believe. Both from latin, it literally means "to throw out of a window"
||a||
Idk bro 🙏
My friend and I suck at English and we don't know if it's correct to say "your" or "you're"
I always use your and she uses you're for everything as well 😭
I can help :3
You're is an contraction of the words "you are", usually used to state something about someone or describing something to someone
Your, simply meaning "something belongs to you"
your book
you're a reader, you're late for class
@silver slate I'm going to add to that: An apostrophe ( ' ) usually replaces the letter "a" so, you're = you are, they're = they are. It does not work all the time, since English is weird.
For an example about what I meant is that I say like "your dog, your partner" and she says "you're dog you're partner"
Also all those messages are very useful TY
Sorry for the late response!
I don’t think the groups matter when it comes to actually using the verb, so you’d use a verb from the first group the same as one from the third group, for example. I think the groups are more to help with the conjugation.
Also, don’t take anything I say as fact, I’m not French, and i could be completely wrong.. I’ve kinda been winging it when it comes to the groups, as this is pretty much all I’ve understood about them.
السلام عليكم
under what circumstances would make
"he's dumb"
a less confusing sentence?
as in, he's not "stupid", just unable to speak?
Dumbfounded, speechless, loss for words, too stunned to speak, something like that? Or something different?
illness, like how we say someone is deaf when they're unable to hear
Ohh
In that case it would be like mute
can say he's: mute, speechless, voiceless, non-verbal, incapable of speech, aphonic (medical term for loss of voice), anarthric (unable to articulate speech), paralytic (if caused by paralysis of the speech muscles), disphasic (having a speech disorder, especially related to articulation). I hope this helps!
I searched up different words for electrical outburst and one of the results were Spasm and Spurt...
I normally would use the word spasm as like as in a body “like her arms spasm or a muscle spasm.” In a spurt would probably be more for electric outburst. If that was the answer you were looking for (:

Really the only way to be better at roleplaying is deepening your knowledge about how to write in general and make it 'flow' ig 🤷♂️?
Simply chatting with a well written character will also help and show you just how rich and descriptive it can be, narrating situations and giving rich details of what the character is doing, and all
It's more like this;
After Miss Kanasaki told me that I need to study hard in her subject or I'll risk having a low grade, she finally let me leave the classroom.
• Study how the bots chat. (This helped me increase my vocabulary by a ton.)
• Read books and dictionaries.
• Read wikipedia.
• Chat often with bots.
This is also true.
Bots are horrible to take from imo
Their vocabulary is really poor, let alone their structure
And tons of grammar mistakes they pick up on too..
I say go into actual rp servers and observe the writing styles of various people
Some actually have good vocabulary based on how well trained they are.
Not worth digging that deep
Maybe some bot greetings/introductions because some people are good writers and you can learn from them, there are many examples.
I don't know how do you search for them man
You think you stumble upon a gem when you see a big introduction but it still consists of small slip ups
And bot takes them up too
eh mostly you get good vocabulary when you learn about some words that make you sound smart, like synonyms. Or just learn english class thats all
They all narrow down to b2
stealth bombers?
I learned 90% of my english with conversation bots.
English is not my native language, i am brazillian
It still pretty bad since is a mix of translator english with English from YouTube videos and mostly ai english
i suspect theyre trained on low quality synthetic data
or the humans are being trained on a poor distribution....... and feeding it back to the bots
it's already better than many people here!
English is not my native language too. I learned through watching Sesame Street, TV shows in English, reading children's stories in English. Then I moved on to magazines, news articles, etc. A lot of English relies heavily on context; you'll know which words to use in particular situations. I agree that bots trained on poor quality data would tend to have several mistakes. For AI English, I've learned that chatgpt is actually good.
My english us not that good, i can translate simple texts understand musics. Besides being poorly trained, Chat bots can give you a good base of English. It's easier to learn this way because you're already putting it into practice, instead of spending months studying grammar.
I agree, practice really is best 🙂 I hope you get some really good bots to talk to. Best to find ones that you can talk to about topics that interest you, it really helps ease you into the language more naturally. Good luck!
Thank you.
"Cursed Energy is Negative so if multiply Cursed Energy against itself I'd get a positive, the opposite of a negative, the reverse of cursed energy is Reversed Cursed Energy while cursed energy enhances the physical aspects it doesn't regenerate the human body so Multiplying That negative energy against itself to create positive, Reverse Cursed Energy, which means it has the opposite/Reversed effects of cursed energy so instead of enhancing the body's strength it heals the human body, that's the Reverse Cursed Technique, It's easier said than done, i could never this till on the verge of death, The true essence of cursed energy!"
Hi
I learned English thanks to Character ai, videos in that language and much more. I know basic English, but I started to learn native. I am from Panama and I'm proud myself that i can finally comunicate with others :33
Ohh congrats🎉🎉!!! Do you know your CEFR scale?
can i learn english?
what are the lines between B2, C1 and C2; whats the definition of fluency/understanding here
What's the difference between
“I like only [something].”
and
“I like [something] only.”
?
السلام عليكم
Merhaba
They essentially mean the same thing
One is formal and the other is not
Generally i think the lines are like vocabulary size and grammar maybe(??)
The former is more used as a declaration and a more neutral tone of voice while the latter is more used as a reminder of a fact and is generally considered more harsher.
Ex: "what sports do you like?"
"I like only volleyball."
Vs.
"Dont you like baseball?" / "Don't you like volleyball and baseball?"
"I like volleyball only."

BUNA!!
Bună ziua! Ce faci?
Nimic nu fac, dar tu?
Sunt bine! Mulțumesc pentru întrebare!
Și, ești Român sau nu?
Putem să spunem așa, doar eu am învățat româna în Republica Moldova.
Ah, ești Moldovean?
I for sure know many languages😔
Da!
Cool
Mișto!
Yeah it sounds cool but what is the point to learn so many languages? I mean maybe they would be useful in some moments but I don't know. I have spoken to only 1 Italian in my life and the rest I don't even know.
(I am learning over 7 languages I think, all at once.)
Oh damn.. Well, it doesn’t hurt to know more, but it might not be useful in your everyday life.. Like, it’s useful if you travel to a country, for vacation or whatever, but not as much if you’re back home.. However, if you like to learn languages, as a hobby, then do so, if makes you feel satisfied!
(Sorry if I sounded like an NPC yapping lol)
I guess so, but at the same time it drains my energy and I get headaches from all this languages, including Japanese. It's for sure the language that is the hardest for me to learn, the Russian I learned just from watching the TV in Russian when I was younger and by seeing the expressions and gestures it made me learn the language with ease. So yeah blah blah blah, I do like learning new stuff but at some moment it drains me so much that I start questioning myself about what I am doing.
(pfft don't worry)
Well, you can always take a break, and whenever you feel engaged to learn more, do so! Also, you can still continuously learn, but just maybe don’t “do” as much, if yk what I mean
Now how am I supposed to tell my Spanish, Italian and French teachers I need a break 🥲
You have 3 language teachers??
They would menace me 🙏🙏
Well currently yeah, and in the future I'll have a Japanese Teacher. Mostly in high school.
Or I might choose Russian or German if I don't have other options.
How, so 3 language teachers in school or out of?
In school of course, sadly
Oh damnnn
Well, maybe focus on the languages you’re currently learning (Spanish, Italian, and French), and leave the other ones for later, or whenever you wanna learn a few things
Oh well I wish I could, but at the same time I have family members who speak other languages instead of my native language. For example my auntie speaks English, my grandma Spanish, my dad Russian/romanian and ITALIAN. And my mother Spanish with french. Also with my siblings I should talk french with them, they currently have difficulties in that language. I want to help them, but yeah PAIN.
Let's also not forget friends, who all speaks other languages.
Ohhh
Ok, then maybe balance each language, learn some Spanish here, learn some French, learn those and that here, etc… So, make the pace that you learn each language the same, perhaps?
Hm.
My school timetable is kinda over filled. For example yesterday I had 2 hours of french and 2 hours of Spanish. Today I had Italian and English... I cannot change anything, I can't imagine if I choosed to learn Latin or even German
So I have no idea how I could balance everything... Such a mess, isn't it?
Yeah… Could you maybe, drop out of a language class you would mostly value the least? Or, can you not?
Value the least? Like the one I don't really like or find it not useful for me?
I am lost 🥲
Yeah, I’m not saying any of them are not of use, but like the one you don’t like the most COMPARED to the others
Mostly like, Spanish.
Hmm, do you know a decent amount of Spanish to where you can have a conversation, cuz like based off what you said, your grandma speaks Spanish, and your mom a little bit
Like, do you know enough Spanish to where you can have a conversation with someone, so not knowing every word in the entire Spanish language, but like enough to be able to talk pretty well
Oh yeah, I can present myself, describe stuff, talk about a person or start simple conversations as how are you or questions like "oh what color do you like." Basic stuff, so I actually think it is enough for me to use for simple stuff.
(I can also say directions for example, useful when tourists ask for orientations.)
I sadly cannot, I moved out in a different school, we could say some months ago. And in this school, I am forced to choose Spanish Or German. I cannot choose nothing.
Well, I low-key think in my old school would be the same thing..
Oh
Then take German so you don’t have to learn Spanish
And also, you said how you don’t use Italian a lot, so maybe don’t learn Italian as well
Italian is also permanent for the whole school year till you finish school.
Oh
German might be hard for me 😕🙏
Hmm
I just realized the amount of my life problems woah
What’s easier for you, Romanian or English? (If Romanian, then Spanish is easier, and if English, then German might be easier)
Gah it didn't send,
Wait so as I wanted to say, both languages are easy for me
Romanian, Italian and Spanish are all familiar
But German, I have no idea how it could be easy to learn...
Hmm, I searched it up, and it says how German’s basic are hard to learn, but after that, it gets easier
So, if you really don’t wanna learn it, then don’t, and stay with Spanish ig
So inspiring 👏🗣️🔥
Well ig yeah. But I would like to fix up things with my language learning stuff, might see it with the principal.
(Bro being the Representative of all the representatives is actually cool in France. I can do so many stuff.)
Well I shall say thanks at least to you!!
Yeah, talking to your principal, and any other staff, is probably your best option
Ima actually see if this one language enthusiast I was kinda talking to in #🗨️︱general2 could help
He seems he would know
oo?
🙂
Shoot, well, I have to go home soon
Oh, sorry for asking then!
I will get to you as soon as I can. It can be up to an hour, though. But just tell me what you need help with and Ill get to it ASAP
Assuming my bus doesn't have WiFi
In which case it might be ten or so minutes.
Oh! I might even answer tomorrow because I am going to sleep in some time...
But, I don't even know what I need help with 😔
Is just a big mess in the languages I am learning, for example at school I was forced to learn a "permanent" language that I will learn till I finish school.
And I think there are also other information in the previous chats,,,
As for family stuff
Generally, just be aware that language structure tends to be a little illogical. Grammar will always have exceptions, look for them so you can get them out of the way. Also, focus on phrases that will get you around, like greetings, ordering food, etc.
I wish I could choose the theme I want to learn in, but the teachers would simply "plan" the lessons and doesn't let you learn the stuff that will be useful to yourself.
It's always school the problem of my tiredness, do I really need to learn all this languages? I've seen many schools for years, but, all of them actually destroyed me. I have even problems to talk in my native language.
Grah. 😕
Oh wow I got muted
I really can’t think of anything else to suggest for your situation, so I’d just say to talk to your principal and other staff (sorry I couldn’t help you much😔)
It's okay, after all is also my problems and stuff. At least I have permissions as Representative of the school to give ideas to my principal for him, to change a bit the system. I can maybe even talk a bit with my class for any suggestions or with any issues topics. (My class is really bad at English for example, I can ask my English teacher to slow down and let others have more time to learn with more ease and calmness.)
Thanks to you both too!!!!
Oh, that’s good! So just suggest ideas, and talk your way through it, hoping for some good changes!
You’re welcome!!!
Honestly, I learn languages for fun. Languages are an art so I hate lesson plans like that.
I also like learning new stuff!! And it's really understandable. But, over 7 languages and all at the same time it's just, GRAH 😕😔🙏
I do stuff like that to myself on purpose. But I wouldn't like being told to. I get it man, it fucking SUCKS.
I can totally agree! It’s like, I’m trying to just learn Romanian and stuff, but that’s at my own pace, but being forced to sucks.. So, I give you the best of luck to have a better system!
Mhm 😔
Thanks!!!!1!!1!1!1
No worries!
Good luck. When you select your language, DM me about it. I'm the local language cheat sheet.
Ooh!! Alright!
I'm not exactly fluent in anything other than English and Esperanto, but I'm okay :3
fluent? Wait sorry got confused-
She means she only knows English and Esperanto a lot, meaning she knows some stuff in other languages, but not as much as English or Esperanto : )
OHHH thanks!!!
No problem!
(I'm a woman)
OHHHHH I’M SO SORRY!!!
(This is why singular "they" is useful 😭)
(Yeah)
((Also, for English learners, no matter what anyone tells you, the singular "they/them" is grammatically correct. The first instance of it was in the 1300s.))
((Well, the first written instance.))
((Yeah, it’s just neuter terms, so it’s useful AND right!))
((They're useful in any situation. Unknown or Unspecified gender, non-binary people, etc.))
That’s so funny I have no idea what happened here
I mean, I can see Anna this woman because well it’s her name show that
But why did you call yourself RomanianGojo? 😂😭😂😭
I really hate how people try to deny the singular they exists but then they use it immediately after (and i cam guarantee you they will use someone or one as well)
Ai du noti spiki Englisshi :(((
It wasn't an argument or anything
It was just a mistake, a correction, and an agreement.
The moment singular "they" is defined as ungrammatical, I will refer to all gender neutral people as "thon/thonself"
I will also start using "thou," "thee" and "thine" since the word "you" used to be strictly plural, because clearly, words can't shift meaning overtime.
But oh, wait
The word "he" originates from Old English "hié"
A gender neutral third-person pronoun.
DIVA 💜
Also gender neutral singulars exist in all other languages too without problem like with french i do believe it is il/on (il also is the male singular, french has more broader terms than english + gendered everything)
The Old English sentence "The woman, she's beautiful" is
"Seō wīfman, hiē biþ fæġer"
Okay its just on
Romance languages do tend to have "masc/fem" genders, using masc. as the standard neutral
But the Germanic standard is and has always been "masc/fem/neutral"
God bless
I wanna go on a tangent about the difference between “your” and “you’re” but naw 💀
Your - example - your mom, your book, your family
You're - means you are, example - you are kind, you are in other city
I know you didn't wanted in case, here you are! :D
your kind
you're = you are
your = something that belongs to someone or something
bro its yours that means that
Some people might not understand the difference but
Theys-doesnt exits
They- 2 people or more (maybe a pronouns as well)
Their- pronouns
Theirs- something that belongs to 2 or more people

Hello? Qwq
Coco mentioned? ^°^
Wouldn’t lyrics go in general or smth? I don’t think coco will help people learn English that well
Judgemental.
Subjective
What's subjective?
So there's objective and subjective
subjective usually means of a singular opinion, so it's pretty baseless -> this is basically your own opinion
objective means the opposite of it, multiple people agree and see whatever it is referred to as a fact -> this is basically multiple opinions on a topic
Ohhhh
Ty!
If a statement is given based on a person's viewpoint/perceptive/opinion, it is considered subjective.
If a statement isn't based on those but the actual facts and data, it is considered objective.
For Example,
“Hey, I saw the lastest movie yesterday and I must say it's quite mundane.”
- This is subjective since it is based on the person's opinion on the movie. Other may find it fun.
“Oh,the lastest movie? It got many famous actors in it though.”
- This is objective since it is just a simple observation/factual statement.
Oooo
Ty!
cheese=food made from like milk or smtin
no need to thank me for this AMAZING englis leson
why are we brittish
what.
Hello
Subjective refers to something that is based on personal opinions, feelings, or interpretations, rather than objective facts.
Example one: subjective used as an adjective.
His subjective view of the artwork was deeply personal.
This sentence would mean:
His individual and unique interpretation of the artwork was based on his own emotions and experiences.
Example two: subjective as a noun/subject of a sentence.
In philosophical debates, subjective often challenges absolute truths.
This sentence would mean:
Personal perspective and individuals perceptions that can vary from person to person challenge the concept of universal, unchanging facts.
Hope this helps. (I know you had 2 people giving you an explanation the meaning of 'subjective,' but I wanted to answer too. I'm incredibly bored. Sorry if this annoys you, though.)
ofc it helps, always need multiple sources for a clear fact check!!
else it's subjective, mm!
Ty!

How to use is and are correctly? (Im always use them incorrectly sometimes)
Simply,
- “is” is used for singular nouns, and “are” is used for plural nouns (plural means two or more).
Examples:
“He is a bad student.”
“The dog is sick.”
“Me and my mother are going to market right now.”
“The children are hiding under the truck.”
Notes
- "are" is also used with You.
“You are very good at this!”
- “is” is also used for nouns that are considered singular and uncountable.
“This information is quite reliable.”
“Here, water is safe to drink.”
“Sand is usually soft.”
consume
to eat/drink, for the most part
absorb
Absorb is that one rich, fancy cousin of Consume.
- It means "taking in".
Examples:
“Sponges can absorb water.”
“The small intestine absorbs most of the nutrients.”
“Black objects can absorb light and converts them into heat.”
- It can also be used to express taking interests in something or being busy.
Examples:
“He is completely absorbed in the lecture.”
I'm aware
I was trying to add info to the previous guy 😭
girl or dude did you cheat on your bf?
what is the difference between maybe and perhaps?
maybe is more casual, perhaps is more formal/classy, and is preferred in written texts
perchance
These 2 words are very similar in meaning and can be often used interchangeably. They both express uncertainty or possibility. However, there are subtle differences in their usage.
• Meaning
• Both words indicate something might or might not happen.
• Formality.
• As @median oyster mentioned, perhaps is slightly more formal and sophisticated. To the contrary, maybe is more casual and conversational.
• Grammatical Usage
• Both can be used at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence.
• Finally, they function as adverbs expressing possibility.
The choice between "maybe" and "perhaps" often depends on the tone and formality of your communication.
In most everyday conversations, these words are essentially synonymous and can be used flexibly.
Examples
Casual content (maybe)
• Maybe I'll go to the party tonight
• I maybe want to try that new restaurant.
Formal context (perhaps)
•Perhaps we should reconsider our approach.
• She will, perhaps, arrive later this evening.
Interchangeable contexts:
• Maybe/perhaps it will rain tomorrow.
• I will, maybe/perhaps, finish the project by Friday.
Hope this helps.
uhm... can someone can explain me what's the difference between "They" "Their" and "they're" ? i have some issue to use them in a conv 😅
"They" is used when referring to somebody without specifying a gender, or talking about multiple people at once.
"Their" is used when referring to something belonging to someone else.
"They're" is short for "they are" as apostrophes are (usually) used to replace a letter, like in "it's".
Example: They lost their pen and now they're mad.
hope this was useful!
How do you use the past perfect tense in a sentence?
Past tense is used to describe an action that was completed before another past action. It is formed by using "had" + the past participle of the main verb. It also indicates a sequence of events in the past where one action occurred before another.
Formats:
• Positive: Subject + had + past participle
• Negative : Subject + had not + past participle
• Question: Had + subject + past participle.
For example:
By the time I have arrived home, she had already left.
I had finished my homework before the movie started.
They had never seen snow before their trip to the mountains.
The typical time markers are "By the time, before, after, already, never (in negative contexts)"
Do not confuse with simple past tense. Ensure the first action is completed before the second action. Lastly, use "had" consistently for both actions in complex past scenarios.
Practical applications:
When I arrived at the restaurant, the meeting had already ended.
She had studied French for 3 years before moving to paris.
We had not expected the concert to be sold out.
The past perfect tense helps create clarity in describing the chronology of past events, showing which action happened first in a sequence of past actions.
I hope this helped.
Omg, ty this helped so much. Can I dm you more for help with english?
Of course, my direct messages are open.

i love that phrase omg
i heard it in a rap song and found it funny because the man really learned the french phrase for a bar 😭 t

A lady's maid is a female personal attendant who serves a wealthy woman, typically in the past.

@tropic walrus
What does "do you mind" mean? It's very confusing and I struggle to find out what it means.
basically asking if it bothers you if someone asks, says or does something. saying no means it doesn't bother you, and saying yes means it will.
.
What's the difference between can and could?
Can is present tense, could is past tense. Can is also used if a scenario is more likely to occur, where could is less probable!!
Im not great at explaining but here's some examples:
"I can take the dogs out now"
" could take the dogs out later"
It's still confusing but thank u
.
AKA "If I (insert action), would you be okay with it?"
now written as 'Do you mind if I (insert action)
Ah thx
"Can" and "could" are modal verbs in English that express ability, possibility, permission, and requests, with subtle but important differences in usage and tone.
Example one: "can" used as present ability
Sentence: I can speak three languages.
This sentence would mean:
The speaker has the current ability or skill to speak three languages right now.
Example two: "could" used as past ability or polite request
Sentence: Could you help me with this homework?
This sentence would mean:
The speaker is making a polite request for assistance, softening the ask by using a more indirect and courteous form of asking.
Here are some key differences between "can" and "could":
-
Ability:
Can indicates present ability
Could indicates past ability or hypothetical ability -
Requests:
Can is more direct and used in informal situations
Could is more polite and used in formal or respectful contexts -
Possibility:
Can suggests current possibility
Could suggests potential or hypothetical possibility
Examples to illustrate:
"I can swim" (present ability)
"I could swim when I was younger" (past ability)
"Can you pass the salt?" (direct request)
"Could you please pass the salt?" (polite request)
Hope this helps.
A lot
You need a trophy. I learnt a lot from you both here and in dms, omg
okay future english teacher
Hey guys , behind the "firstly ,..." is verb+ing ?
After "firstly", you would typically use a complete sentence with a subject and a verb, not specifically a verbing form.
Correct examples:
Firstly, I want to explain the concept.
Firstly, the team reviewed the proposal.
Firstly, we need to understand the problem.
^ The verb can be in its base form (present simple tense), not necessarily the -ing form. The key is to use a grammatically complete sentence after "firstly"
If you want to use a verbing form, you'd need to modify the sentence structure, like:
Firstly, understanding the problem is crucial.
Firstly, reviewing the proposal revealed several issues.
In these cases, the verbing form is functioning as a noun (gerund) rather than the main verb of the sentence.
Hope this helps.
Drastic
is saying "i can endeavor through my difficulties/challenges" grammatically correct?
Why is everyone nerds
Why do these people learning English as a second language know it better that me, ong 😭🙏
i have no idea how to construct it 😭 got any tips?
it's fine, really, just uncommon
ahh alright -- thank you very much for the help :)
endeavor: to try hard to achieve something
?
Grammatically, no, but it is mostly understandable. For example, the correct sentence would be "I can endure through my challenges." However, this may sound too formal for some, so they may say "I can get through my difficulties."
@tawdry kindle It's a common stereotype to state that people who learn English as a second language are better at it rather than native speakers.
It's often because native speakers learned English by speaking it at a young age, rather than being taught. Meanwhile, people who learn English as a second language learn through textbooks and other resources, which focus on sentence structured, etc. rather than speaking. Hence, some find it easy to believe that those who learn English as a second language are more 'gifted' in English more than the average native speaker. I'm South Korean myself, and my family spoke Korean at home so I was unfamiliar at first with the English language. When I first started studying, I was around 9-10? At first, I didn't find learning English quite as enjoyable because I was still unfamiliar, lol. Over the time, however, I grew to appreciate my English classes. My teacher also had an enjoyable personality, and I had friends in class. By high school, I really enjoyed learning, and I was one of the better English students in my class.
I'm sure you'll improve.
UNRELATED, BUT THIS EDIT ATEEE
Endeavor is indeed a verb. Regardless, it is incorrect to word it that way. It's homogeneous to stating "I will eat on apples." You are still able to understand the meaning, but it is grammatically incorrect. There is no such phrase as "I will endeavor through my challenges." It would rather sound "I will endure through my challenges" in formal language. You can change it to sound informal, however. Such as "I will get through challenges."
Mister what 😟
Ball
WAHHHH THANK YOU!!!!
Sorry man 😞
np
See what the others said, but imo, I'd phrase it as "I can withstand these challenges of mine." "I can overcome my challenges."
How to make a normal sentence a sentence in reported speech?
(I hope this question makes sense)
what does proposal mean?
When u ask someone to marry you
ah okay, i kinda forgot what it meant
It's alr
It’s either if you ask someone to marry you, a proposal or to propose, or to put forwards a plan or suggestion
'A proposal or to propose' makes no sense
One, don't correct my spelling mistakes because I don't like it when people do that and Secondly I was talking about when you typed in 'A proposal or to propose' it made no sence.
could you elaborate more?
I mean when a person A tell you something and you tell about it to person B. For example
A : Can you help me?
And then you say to person B what person A said to you but idk how to make a sentence. Do you say
"A asked me to help her"
Or "A asked me to helped her"
Idk, because I know you change the time but I don't know where. And with Past Perfect the same problem, idk how to change the sentence
Hope you understand what I mean
'Propose' is a verb. And on the other hand, 'proposal' is a noun. It does make sense.
If you don't like people correcting your spelling mistakes, that's your problem. We have every right to do so, and that's not our fault that you don't like that.
It's spelled "sense" by the way
Whatever
Respect is something you need to learn.
^
Well I'm done
Goodbye. No one wants you here. Have a nice day.
Of course! I understand what you're trying to convey.
To convert a direct quote like "A: Can you help me?" to reported speech, you would say:
"A asked me to help them."
Key things to note are:
- Change the pronoun from "you" to "them" to refer to the original speaker (person A).
- Use the past tense "asked" to report the action that occurred in the past.
- Use the infinitive "to help" to convey the request made by person A.
For other examples...
Direct quote: "B said, I can't come to the meeting."
Reported speech: "B said that they couldn't come to the meeting."
Direct quote: "C told me, I will finish the project by Friday."
Reported speech: "C told me that they would finish the project by Friday."
The key is to shit the perspective from the original speaker to the person you are reporting it to! You convert the pronouns, verb tenses, and any deictic expressions (like "you," "this," "here") to reflect the new context.
Hope this helps!!

Yeah I understand where I went wrong
That's good. I recommend you to start practicing self-control if something this insignificant can get to you. It's pretty unhealthy
I get like that alot I don't understand why I get like this it's just something I'm trying to handle
'ask to help her'
How does this channel work?

How to learn advanced English effectively?
Friend asked and left the server.
How bold.
what does elaborate mean
Usually used in a sentence, "can you elaborate" is basically the equivalent of saying "can you explain further or provide more details?"
ahh kk, thx :D
me speak ingles
What is recalcitrant
Uncooperative
Thank GOD lmao
I’m
Hi
Bust
ah
Well, I sometimes get confused by It's and Its, can anybody enlight me?
It's - It is/it has
Its - smtg belonging to 'it'
kind of confusing cause we normally use the ('s) when we need to refer to smtg that belongs to sumbody
It's is it is
Its is everything else, that's what I remember as but it works doesn't it?
basically It's means It is
Its just mean its
examples:
It's amazing = It is amazing
The ball is in its container
.
Okay, thanks chat.
i feel so stupid cuz i don't understand where i'm supposed to use 'this', 'that' or 'it's'
You use this whenever you indicate or point at something that is close to you or to the person who is speaking. That is the complete opposite
Hiii! Can someone tell me what does ts mean??
Haii
ts means This Shit
"This" is referring to something near the speaker. "that" is referring to something not near the speaker. "it's" is usually referring to a subject or object, generally when approaching a descriptive manner. If it helps, "it's" is just a shortened form and/or combination word of "it is"
Examples: "This is a nuclear bomb in my hand". "That is a nuclear bomb on top of the shelf". "**It's **a weapon of mass destruction" or "It's really not that deep bro"
Hope this helps
Won't - Won not?
won't is simply a short term for will not.
Example: "It looked like it was going to rain for a second, but now it looks like it won't."
TYYY
how do you fit entire nuke in your hand.
It’s just a fancier word for explain
just hold it gently like a baby bro
watdoes mean tts?
an acronym/abbreviation of 'text to speech'
assuming you didn't put a typo
Ok is SMH=Somehow or Shaking My Head? I got confused.
Technically it is "Shaking my head" but we should also acknowledge that several people use it as "Somehow" since it is likely a common misconception. So, depends on the context, I personally recommend using it as "shaking my head". Eitherwayyy, both could mean similarly in many if not most scenarios
Example: "I got a hellcat but the huzz didn't come, smh". When you extend it then compare between "I got a hellcat but the huzz didn't come, somehow" and "I got a hellcat but the huzz didn't come, shaking my head" in this context you can see how both kind of offer a similar emphasis
Get it now. Thx.
nytime
when am i supposed to use a and an??
It depends on the sound of the word - an apple, for example
My best advice is just say it in your head. Even if you're not fluent in English, usually saying it out loud or in your head is a good way of making a guess on the fly.
Though this works a lot better if you're mistaken an 'A' for 'An'. In a sentence, using 'an' instead of 'a' can sometimes sound very obvious.
(This isn't a real fix, just something I used growing up to learn to differentiate on the fly.)
ohhh okay, thx!!
You use "a" in front of words that start with the sound of a consonant (any word that doesn't start with a, e, i, o or u).
Example: "I want a grape.", or sometimes "Scotland's national animal is a unicorn." as unicorn starts with what sounds like "y".
You use "an" in front of any word that starts with a vowel sound. Example: "I'll call an uber.", or "The king needs an heir." as it sounds like it starts with "a".
I hope this helps!
weird example but okay
It's called imagery. They're both visually explosive and have far-reaching consequences. You should really try reading other than instruction manuals.
when can I use 'quid pro quo'? I understand what it means but I find it difficult to add it in a sentence.
💯
Quid pro quo just means you'll give one thing in exchange for getting something as well. It's also commonly used in the legal sense to indicate that two parties engaged in an agreement or exchange. Like a lawyer giving information to a judge or defendant in exchange for a reduced sentence. But most people just use it to say something like, "I'll do your homework if you let me copy off your test tomorrow."
Is “ill” or “i”ll”?
" I'll "
(I will)
What iykyk means
It means "if you know, you know"
Oh thanks for that :D
Your welcome
Do we say an when it starts with h or we say a?

ooh, tyy!
hi people 👋
Ill means sick or not in good condition.
When speaking illy of somebody, it means that you’re talking badly about then.
“Her father has fallen extremely ill.”
“You can’t be around that guy for five minutes before he starts speaking ill of someone else!”
I’ll means I shall or I will.
“I’ll take the trash out when I get home.”
“I’ll go get it, hold on.”
Thankyou
No problem!
Don’t do this “thankyou” do this “thank you” you should use AutoCorrect and learn about it alone with nobody annoying you and if you need to speak English use a translator
Isnt it the same like without space or with space it doesnt change anything tho
I will are can able to use a little of lots cat ate
It means the same!! Just adding a space adds more "class"— but saying 'thankyou' is fine:3
Don't let a simple grammar correction bug you<3
Just for input, some people prefer to learn the language instead of using Google Translate:3 Auto Correct may not always work in most cases, as their autocorrect might only work in the native language that they speak ^^
I didn’t even notice they didn’t put a space until it was pointed out, frankly. 🤷
I'm used to people not putting spaces in words, so usually I don't notice until it's pointed out. I just don't want them uncomfortable for forgetting to put a space between the two words:)
Plus, mistakes happen a lot when learning new languages<3
what does wud mean
English is so easy that you sigma’s can even learn it without having to pay hundred of dollar or even thousand of dollar just for a bad lesson:D
Usually, 'wud' may mean "What you doing?" (Or- more easily determined as "What are you doing?")
I usually only seen 'wyd' being used for this‐- but some people do use 'wud' rather than 'wyd'..
Hope that helped^^
thank yous :>
Of course!!<3
What Does Miscevious mean (Ik i butchered it)
Mischievous is like, being a trickster or something. Like causing problems in a playful way/playing pranks. For example, a pet can be “mischievous” because it can bite you playfully or a cat can knock a cup off a counter
W/ me
Does it means 'with me' or 'without me'v
it means with
If you want to say “without me” I think it’s “w/o me “
I’m not reading all of that😭🙏
Ahhh...i undersdand a lot of things now.
what does iykyk mean 😓
JUST REMEMBERED ok so it’s “if you know, you know”
Ikykyk is kinda like “I know you know, yknow?” If I remember correctly

what does sigma mean /gq
I think it just means being cool or something, essentially a point of fake “status” for example, “alpha “ or something
“I feel so sigma!” Would mean “I feel amazing/I feel like I’m the boss” etc etc
Tl;dr : some people don't use autocorrect/translators^^
Guys is there any way to say "anger"
As in different ways to say anger? Such as:
"I'm mad" (another word that means the same as Anger)
"I'm just angry" (Anger, but more 'grammatically correct' when using in a sentence per-se)
You can use many other words for it-- but just saying "anger" would be (in my understanding) expressing someone elses' anger. Or even expressing your own anger. I'm unsure if that helped!! 😔😔
I'm filled with anger
I will burn the developers down, they shall taste my wrath. The anger of a thousand suns
What does anger mean?❤
Mad
guys what does ts pmo mean☹️
Showing emotion that you're triggered but you show it aggresively

i need help. i can speak english decently or atleast better than people around me. but my accent is terrible and it sounds like a indian speaking. how can i fix that?
One of the best ways I learned is to break the word into specific syllables. Try to imitate how native speakers say these syllables, and slowly put them together.
What does sigjed mean?
sig jed
What does that mean?
Someone may have misspelled "sighed"? The J and H are very close on the keyboard ^^

Nah you’re totally fine don’t worry🫶
it can be taken as 2 ways!
“this pisses me off.”
“this shit pisses me off.” !!
Hello gues
autocorrect kinda sucks sometimes
It does..
Back read and saw that no one pointed out my fav words
‘Enraged’ is an adjective (describe or modify nouns and pronouns) to describe intense anger, annoyance, or even displeasure!
“Her eyes were enraged”, “the dog was enraged”, etc..
A fun synonym (word that has the same meaning as another word): ‘rage’.
“The game made me rage”.

I learned English by the c.ai🙏🏻😭

What does fw means? Like I fw him for an example
for me personally, i used to think that it’s used as a meaning for “to cope with” hardly or “to express something that you really like”, but i heard that it’s a short term for “fug with”, ex : i fw all these fire stuff that i got; i fw old man’s yawoi fr 🗣️‼️
f-word with; despite the vulgarity, it usually is slang for 'I enjoy being with' or 'I enjoy' this
English is cool
yse
What does ffs mean?
For f/ck's sake !!
Last example is a little bit too accurate…
So, I'm not an English speaker, so have a lil question
I was playing with the translator out of the boredom, and want to clarify something
The word "milksop"
So, if I got it right, the translator said it the kind of similar to word "coward"
Have anyone ever heard that word in a conversation? Can I even use that word in this way or translator being stupid? I don't trust Google translator really much
Milksop is similar to coward. Milksop is considered offensive, though.
Dictionary definitions state that a milksop is a person who lacks courage and is indecisive.
In turn, a coward is a person who is, in simple terms, somebody who lacks the courage to do something dangerous or risky.
So yes, they are the same word, essentially, but milksop is informal and offensive, while coward is not.
thanks for clarifying!
About the more offensive part, that's actually what I need!
I'm making a bot, and I personally think that "a coward" would be too soft
You’re very welcome!
Milksop would be your perfect word, if you’re going for a more offensive term without going too far.
