I wanna ensure this doesn't happen anymore, trying to close the payments profile but google refuses because I still have an active subscription. If someone can help me get this problem solved I'd really appreciate it!

the google when you create your acount for first time you get a free tier limits for 12month which if you use more they will charge or if you use what is not in it. I recommend first check in billing what is included

also if you want be sure just disable your billing from the project first

then check what included be sure

and the solution will be create a budget alert and a cloud run script which will stop or disable the service

I wanna cancel the subcription and everything related to the payment method, but I can't do so

you ned first remove the billing from any project

basicaly remove billing account first

when you do that you wont be charged as all services inside the project will be stopped
