I'm migrating from Azure to GCP. The first thing I wish to migrate is our database.
It's very tiny (less than a GB) and I would like to take the cheapest route to migrate it.

Do I use the [https://console.cloud.google.com/marketplace/product/google/datamigration.googleapis.com?hl=en&organizationId=1095957692238&project=tensile-octagon-471113-k8&returnUrl=%2Fdbmigration%2Fmigrations%3Fhl%3Den%26organizationId%3D1095957692238%26project%3Dtensile-octagon-471113-k8] (Database Migration API) ?

Any other options?

I'm fully new to GCP

What kind of database is it?
Also, do you need to minimize downtime or is it okay if the database isn't available for some time?

downtime minimisation not necessary. It's an Azure SQL server db

In the migration API it is forcing me to go to PostgreSQL. I would prefer it to be on SQL server instead

I was going from the AI to my website basically.

It wasn't the wrong thread, but I was self refential, I feel worried when I don't explain myself. My point was, basically IMO POST data processing is always underdeveloped, GCP has a good mix of both I feel. Basically, I think this is the opposite, but you program through XML data. Its an API

I mean I struggle to see the reason not to program that way if youre also using an API, I think thats marketing.

Its more programming I guess, just GUI
