Having built and integrated with many APIs from many companies both free and paid over the years. You can never have any real expectation of anything from **free ** APIs.
Doesn't take away from the fact it can still be frustrating.

Google was clear from the beginning that there would be a paid tier.
I can understand the frustration that the free tier isn't as generous as it was, tho.
