Just catching up and watching RHB's latest video where he poses the question "Who runs The Finals?".

I think there's pretty compelling evidence that the answer is in whole or in part: OSPUZE.

Why? Well, while I've got no hard evidence, no smoking gun, and no details craftily hidden in image files; I do have some other experience I'm hoping might be useful - I'm a writer, and I've been carefully weaving hints to grandiose plots and sneaking them under peoples noses for a while now, and this video set off the 'This will make more sense in hindsight' alarm a number of times.

(Much of what I'm about to cover is entirely subjective, personal interpretation - some of which I won't even feel too strongly about, but thought might be worth sharing all the same)

Let's ignore the visual clues and take a close look at the dialogue.

Scotty - "Time for an OSPUZE Pro Juice!"```
June sounds like she's off-air, but Scotty still sounds like he's broadcasting.
Possibilities:
- He's *really* into OSPUZE
- He just talks like that all the time and June isn't paid enough
- There's something less 'human' about Scotty than there is June
- He knows someone might be listening

Scotty - "Wouldn't want Sofia to hear you say that."```
Why would Sofia hearing June speak ill of OSPUZE be a problem?
- She's a VIP, a major sponsor of the previous season and still a sponsor of one of the maps i.e. has business deals with 'The Finals'
- She's their boss.

```June - "Oh she has enough on her plate with the recent hacks. Trust me."```
Why is Sofia specifically the one who has additional worries because of the hacks?
- She's the one being targeted ("The Writing is on the wall" -> "S Lies")
- - Even if this was the case, why do so through The Finals and not other means, is it because The Finals show has such huge reach, or are they more closely tied than just being a sponsor
- Again, Sofia is responsible for running The Finals in some capacity. She's not just affected by the messages, but in a position where she's actively trying to counter them

```Scotty - "They're not hacks June, they're glitches. Besides Holtow's not worried."
June - "They don't run the show, they just sponsor it. Someone put those messages in the system."```
Again, further confirmation that sponsors aren't worried, but Sofia/OSPUZE *is*. June's answer here "They don't run the show" in answer to Scotty bringing up Holtow suggests the people that *should* be worried are the ones running it, and by June's previous assertion - one such person is Sofia.

June - "You keep telling yourself that, Scotty. The writing's on the wall. Literally."```
June presents herself as the only one seeing the situation clearly, while Scotty is ignoring the truth. We could make the comparison here that Scotty has "drank the Koolaid (OSPUZE)"  while June stays clear of the stuff - allowing her not to be hoodwinked by what management is telling them to think. June comes across as more fresh-faced, the closest parallel to us, the outsider. Scotty is a veteran of the show and is deeply committed to how it runs.

**Bonus Musing:**
"The writing on the wall" is an idiom. An ill-portent of ruin. The messages/glitches are a sign of great change, promising things to come - growing in number and becoming harder to ignore. June sees an end in sight and doesn't appear to hold much hope for a reprieve. She seems confident in her assessment but also disconnected, as if what she believes might come to pass either won't effect her, won't be undeserved, or might be for the greater good.

I've been toying with some outlandish concepts under the title "If I wrote 'The Finals'" - something I like to do for my own amusement and to later compare against what is actually revealed. I might share some of it later on, but don't want to massively derail the more grounded chat for now.

Okay I got a big splash incoming

1: Scotty and June are textually AI, not just literally. They both slur certain words and enunciate others oddly when IRL voice AI has overcome those hurdles cheaply. It is intentional, and meant to convey that they are announcing all matches at once. Scotty talks often and lovingly about his time as a contestant, these two things can only be true if the AI announcer we hear is an AGI trained on the memories of former-contestant scotty. June talks about being a contestant as well, but with much less confidence and enthusiasm, so the June we hear is probably in a similar boat. If they are AI, it would be simple for the sponsors(and devs) to make them say or believe just about anything for any purpose. (S: Time for an Ospuze! J: You really drink that stuff?)

2: AI or not, between the two of them, Scotty is clearly the one drinking the koolaid. He leads all the ads, June kinda takes a backseat and very very rarely speaks first. In the hack video, it's clear Scotty is downplaying the situation, while June is getting very serious. Either Scotty really believes these are glitches, or he knows there is a good chance that we (or sophia) really can hear them, and somehow June doesn't believe the same. A human June would just be out of the loop, but an AI June would have no reason to not be on the same page as Scotty. Unless there is some aspect of her memories that might make her a less-malleable AI personality than Scotty.

Spear's video made me think about the next point

3: So Who's June? We don't know much about either of them, but Scotty talks so much more that it feels like we know him a lot better. There's one former-contestant I can't stop thinking about. Odilia. I think the only other female contestant we know about is Sophia, Ceo of ospuze. Spear talked about how the fact that you can obtain and wear her face makes it seem like the rights to her entire likeness have been sold to the games. That would include her voice. If a corporate AI was going to try to slip us clues, "The Trickster that dances between illusion and reality" is a good candidate.

They are AI as it directly relates to the lore, even if they used real voice actors, they would be "AI" in the game's universe. As you said, there's literally no ethical problem here, and AI is used intentionally BECAUSE of the way it sounds to achieve an intentional creative effect. Just because you think it sounds "better" doesn't mean they should sacrifice core aspects of their world design.

AI in art is all about ethics and complaining about something like this, true proper artist-paid ethical use for the purpose of storytelling, only serves to muddy the waters and what is and isn't proper use. Probably not an argument for the lore channel but we've gotta put the damn dog to bed, it's not the channel to complain about the use of AI

So I was looking at a bunch of stuff, from an illusion of choice down to reality and being a massive matrix nut I went and looked up the allegory of the cave and simulacra and simulation and spotted this:

What if, like the matrix, the world as it was no longer exists and the maps we play on are just an inaccurate copy of what the world once was. (also, are we the prisoners of this world?)

Going back to that second stage what, if CNS are the people who have come to realise that there is something wrong about this simulation (and the manipulation of truth) and that they exist in an obscure reality that isn't possible to copy? (a complex cyber space) Hence the "Slies" and "taking back what is ours"

Yep EE hunters found out that first. we can get outside of the practice range and shoot another player.

You load with more than 1 person in the practice range (maybe to save resources on the server side).

when outside the range we can shoot through walls because collision physics is not loaded. we can also see other players and kill them.

As others could potentially abuse this. we are not sure if we should share this
