Why is it that the new white mask and its green counterpart are the only masks that dont allow co-equipping with the red headband? @smoky gust, for you too. APS meant to be hard counter to GLs by design, bc it's strong AoE weapons. It cannot be softed like you want, from just balance/gamedesign perspective. For e.g. way (1) loss health with each projectile dawn / way (2) cooldown after number projectiles down. Weapons in game have infinite ammo, and can just "dry" turret by just shooting in at (1) / just destroy it on cooldown(2). Not matter how many health loss per projectile / cooldown time. And it's one GL on team. Now imagine 3M/H stack with all GLs. And wow - what happened, your "soft" counter to GLs is now not counter at all. APS is fine in current state, leave it alone, and get some skill for niche weapons.
@smoky gust , I read your reply, and what you try to say concludes to one thing: you picked niche weapon which require serios skill to use and teamplay, got countered. And no, again APS shouldn't be nerfed by reasons mentioned earlier, only bc you/your teammates/almost entire playerbase can't play game as inteneded (teamplay, yes). For other takes:

Came back to the game after 2 months. Horrible bugs persisted, you can't use weapons, gadgets, completely disabling your character until your next death, sometimes it persist for entire match. New bug discovered 20 minutes ago, was diamond 3 rank, last 15 seconds of match we are 1st on leaderboard at 40k+ cash, 2 teams with 4k cash getting +22k, third team is down at 400 something...we got disqualified that same match, somehow us turning 3rd place, even tho no one died and we had 40k at the last sec of game, and on top of that disqualifiction game demonted me to platinum 4. Realy good game, never playing again.

I dont know, I've ran into 3 medium stack with APS in ranked and I'm a mgl32 player. It feels like you're shut down indefinitely for the full round. In a game where speed is everything, it doesn't feel great that my only options if my teammates aren't on top of it are to run around a few rooms and try to find a good shot angle. Or charge and slam to save a cashout at extremely low probability. You'll find you'll run into the APS in bulk especially in rounds 2 and 3 once everyone knows each others builds more. If the APS remains permanent in duration, the one change I could see feeling better is allowing enemy projectiles to shoot from within the APS circle. This at least gives the GL player an option themselves that is high risk/high reward by bum rushing or dropping into the APS from above ground. While still keeping its intended use which is spamming grenades from afar and through windows

it should be a soft counter

Weapons in game have infinite ammo, and can just "dry" turret by just shooting in at
infinite ammo, but no infinite clip/mag
you would need to waste your whole mag, reload and then get to engage
that is still incredibly strong, but at least you would have options

Now imagine 3M/H stack with all GLs. And wow - what happened, your "soft" counter to GLs is now not counter at all.

while loosing 1/3 - 1/2 of their total ammo as a team

I think the game is pretty well balanced right now. The ranked matchmaking experience is so far so fun. Havn't encountered a single cheater and we get matched against similar ranks. Ranked is another game right now. Before this update it was crazy cheatinfested. Would just get instabeemed all the time, which never happens now.

Seems like alot of u guys are complaining about "now I cant 1mag a heavy etcetc", its a teambased game. If you play as a team with ur teammates you wont have any problem destroying other teams. Its not a 1 man solo game. And if youre playing solo, please turn on your voicechat. When we 2 queue and get a solo, 9/10 times its some random dude just running around without voicechat and have 0 teamplay skills.

Anyways, I think the ranked experience is so much better. Sad to hear that some ppl get down arrow even after they've qualified for 2nd round. Embark must change that...

Ranked - Make the ranked leveling system accurate. I was on 3 chevrons ready for promo and I played one game got to the second knock out round for my leagues score to drop from 3 chevrons to 1 chervon but at the end of the game it said I gained 1 chevron. WHich is it? did I get closer to ranking up or further away. Bring back fame points or make it a LP based system

add bullet drop to snipers, tired of these invis campers staying at their spawn point hidden in the lights not doing anything, some guy on the opposing team got 14 kills in a match (not terminal) by camping invis. also just wanted to point out a glitch I saw a couple days ago, me and my friend were playing terminal attack and it was him (a heavy) vs an invis light sniper, and for some reason the light was invis but his glare still there, so all he saw was the wall and the glare on top of it? Not sure if this is a glitch or it's because he's aiming with invis, not taking a shot.

Embark this is i would start with to balance your game:
Light:

  • Revert cloak activation cost (keep visibility changes)
  • LH1 dmg reduced from 49 to 47

Medium:

  • Revert AKM recoil to release patch (this should be the noob friendly ar)
  • Revert FCAR to 25 dmg and 20 bullets (this should be the higher risk AR, right now it's just an akm with less ammo)
  • CL40 damage to 100 from 110. Self damage increased to 2x
  • Healbeam doesn't stack

Heavy:

  • RPG damage reduced from 140 to 100
  • Lewis dmg reduced from 25 to 23
  • M60 dmg reduced from 22 to 21
  • Mesh shield now has a 5sec cooldown after you toggle it off.

Other changes:

  • Grenades now have a visual indicator that warns the player a grenade is coming/close by
  • Mines now can only be placed 4m or more away from another mine of the same type.
  • Movement reverted to patch 2.5.0, these constant dead slides feel awful
  • Added kernel level anti cheat

Put the glitch effect back on Stun Gun. It's wild that anyone can use movement specs/gadgets while the player is supposed to be immobilized in the stun state.

I completely agree with you but I don't expect anything to change as this likely needs a significant rework in the core mechanics of the game.

Alternatively a ranked gamemode where a system like you mentioned is in place and with locked HML teams could be very interesting, at least in my opinion. Call it "Continuous cashout" or something 🙂

@queen cloud I agree with the CL40, Healing beam and Lewis Gun changes. AK and FCAR seem to be in a decent spot right now. AK is mostly for shorter ranges whereas the FCAR can be used at short-mid ranges. Mesh shield needs a rework in its core mechanics in my opinion. I shared the following a short while ago:

*"Consider making the shield not block bullets entirely, but let it significantly decrease the damage done by them within a certain range. Bullets hitting the shield from the front can "fizzle out" and deal reduced damage (for example 10% of the original damage) within 0-5m behind the shield and be completely harmless after 5m. The health of the shield can go back up to, for example, 1250 or something again as any targets behind the shield are not invulnerable. This would make the shield more of a buffer for the heavy carrying it and less of an "emergency panic button" when their HP gets low. In this case enemies can still finish off a heavy that deploys the shield when they're at 20 hp if they keep shooting. The heavy's teammates can work around the damage range by standing back a little farther, which makes them easier to flank if your team is paying attention.

Currently the mesh shield is (in my opinion) a little too strong if you're in a 1v1 setting and you're not at point blank range. You can't damage the shield enough to finish the player carrying it, regardless of what HP they were at when they deployed it."*

Can you guys make flash grenades not hit your teammates? They'd be a much better option if they did that, would also be awesome if they exploded on impact.

I would also like to pitch a specialization for Light that turns yourself basically into a flashbang, where it charges up with a hum and a building glow around your body before exploding out of the light and hitting enemies for a 1-4 second blind depending on how close they were and how much they were looking at you. It'd also stop light from shooting while its charge up along with having a sound when its being activated. Can be countered by looking away and being out of range.

You do realise you can run into or shoot at players that are farther away than melee range? If you manage to shoot a heavy down to 20 hp they can just press Q and walk away like nothing happened if they're far away enough. Even if you decide to keep engaging and run towards them they're most likely full HP by the time you get there. With the way the heavy shields work right now there often tends to be some sort of (mesh) shield staredown between two rooftops if there's at least one heavy.

I like the specialization idea on light, I think that would be a cool concept

About the mechanics of the flashbang, I feel it would be way too strong if teammates didn't get affected by it. It's definitely a gadget that rewards communication and a team that can coordinate their movements around it.

I like Terminal Attack since it calls for more "breach and clear" gadgets and class setups which is where I believe flashbangs where truly shine.

Okay so here goes my piece on suggestions for game balance. Part of those are things I would like to see in the game, but a part are just suggestions that might not be the best but at least suggest something instead of just complaining that things are too powerful or useless.

Let me also preface this with saying that I have been playing since open beta and I feel like every single update that has been made has pushed the game into a better and better direction (even though I was very afraid the launch recoil changes would make this game into a long-range focused shooting fest with very little place for close range combat, which fortunately didn't happen) and I hope things will continue like that.

Also this is probably be multiple messages as I cannot fit everything in one place.
With that said here goes nothing (or a lot of things actually):

Part 1: Light
I believe light build has been too stirred by the recent changes to actually attempt balance changes so quickly and we probably need to see the meta settle a little more around them before doing anything to his more powerful aspects. That said there are a lot of weaker aspects that could use help

Throwing knives:

  • Increase the projectile velocity
  • Either let us hold right click prepared or adjust it's animation so that the throw comes out faster, but has more animation lag after the fact so its' usage seems more responsive

Dagger:

  • Increase its' attack speed while adjusting damage, the weapon would feel a lot better as a "death by thousand cuts" thing and it would distinguish it more from the sword, while also allow for easier finishing off on heavies after a backstab
  • like with the throwing knives let us hold right click or apply a similar animation adjust so that the hit comes out faster

Thermal Vision:

  • Add some indicator about hazards and smoke. Yes this gadget is made to be used to shoot through smoke but the fact that we cannot if it still is there without disabling it sucks.

Part 2: Medium
Medium is in a pretty balanced spot right now, after the Fcar adjust there should no longer be any rifle that dominates as much and all 3 can be used for different scenarios. There are however still some outliers in medium's arsenal that are annyoing to play with or against.

Gas mines:

  • Increase activation range
    They seem to be under performing imo so they need a little boost

APS:

  • Give it charges, 2 or more likely 3 each with it's own recharge time in the ball park of 8-12 seconds. It is incredibly powerful that a single medium with a single aps can stop like 16 grenades in a row. Yes you can shoot it down theoretically but there are some places (like for example an inside of an elevator) where a well placed aps can negate most of the counterplay to stacking inside the elevator on a cashout.
  • Make it require line of sight. Why is it able to destroy breach charges or mines from below through the floor?

Model 1887:

  • Allow it to interrupt the reload animation, mostly a qol change, but the gun would feel so much better if you could just queue up a shot for after the animation places the slugs into the mag and not wait for the other ones to get loaded up

R.357:

  • Change body damage from 74 to 75
  • Change the headshot multiplyer from 2x to 1,97x
    Leaving a light with 2 HP after two shots feels so much worse than not one-shotting them with a headshot this changes would allow you kill them while still not allowing for one-shots

CL-40:

  • Remove the direct hit damage
  • Remove the self damage penalty
  • Change the mag size from 4 to 5
    This weapon is frustrating both to use and to fight against (especially if you are not a heavy) and you can sometimes just kill yourself faster than your opponents, and you can often one-shot wounded lights out of nowhere. I understand there should be some prevention from just running up at enemies and killing them with explosives, but this weapon is nowhere near oppressive enough for it to be as high as it is.

It is really sad that I cannot reconnect back to the rank game. Is it possiable to remove the timeout setting? My PC just blue screen and restarted, it took a while, when I finally opened the game it told me everything was end, my teammates are 2vs3 in the final round, which is also almost the round that we can finally rank up. What I can XXXX doing is only listen to their scream, I am so ashamed. What's worse? I got a 10mins penalty......

Part 3: Heavy
I feel like I don't have as much experience on the Heavy build, even though I have probably played it more than Light, but I feel like that is because RPG is such a powerful gadget that I had little chance to experience more varied loudouts

RPG:

  • Move it from being a gadget to a specialization
  • It does feel slightly to weak to be a specialization so I would see one of two possible ways to adjust it:
  1. Keep it as a high damage burst for opening fights or finishers with the added utility of destruction:
  • Decrease cooldown from 45s to 35s
  • Slightly decrease the outer falloff of explosion damage
    This would keep it as the high damage option, while also reinforcing its' aoe capabilities.
  1. Balance out its' two purposes of being a damaging piece and a destruction piece
  • Decrease damage from 140 to 100
  • Increase charge count from 1 to 2
  • Decrease the reload speed
  • Change charge cooldown from 45s to 30s
    With this the idea is that you can shoot one charge for destruction and reload to have the other for the fight. You can also obviously try to use them both for the fight, but you probably will just get killed before you reload.

Lewis gun and M60

  • Decrease the crit multiplyer from 1.5x to somewhere between 1.2x and 1.4x
  • Adjust recoil patterns to reinforce M60's close range identity and Lewis' longer range one
  • Decrease Lewis gun's damage from 25 to 24
    I think decreasing the crit multiplyer would stop Heavy's damage from spiraling out of control as you get better with the guns while still keeping it as is if you mostly bodyshot. The wavy recoil patterns for both of them are just too similar to each other in my opinion making it feel like one is just a worse version of the other after you learn how to control them

KS-23:

  • Increase the plaver damage back to 120
  • Add a crit multiplayer of 1.25x

Anti-grav cube:

  • Increase the floating speed
  • I am not really sure if it is aps-able coz I see it so little, but it shouldn't be for sure.

The ranked system after 2.6 patch feels scuffed, the elo gain for a lot of people feels very inconsistent and even some d1 players are losing like 50-100 ranked from 1 loss even after a win streak, but wins only gets like 1-5 ranked. something is really weird there

Possible idea for the Melee Weapons- both Riot Shield and Sledge Hammer as both are in pretty rough spots in recent times with the shifting meta and player base becoming better and better at the game.

Increases to movement speed could be a mechanical change that'd save the two melee weapons that're struggling right now if their numbers truly can't be changed and more complicated changes are off the table, making a Riot Shield Medium move at a speed between lights and mediums and a Sledge Hammer Heavy to move at a speed between mediums and heavies, still not as fast as the build meant to be faster than them but faster than they normally are with other equipment, such a movement speed bonus to normal movement, sprinting and sliding.

I don't feel like Sword needs any love beyond fixing hit reg issues along with fixing that in the other melee weapons at the moment though, although throwing knives could also benefit from such a mechanic to make them a better 'dance around your opponents' style weapon if they also got a slight movement speed bonus when equipped.

Another potential buff for these weapons is to embrace the 'melee brawler' style and give contestants that have a Riot Shield or Sledge Hammer as a primary weapon an extra 50 max health although I wouldn't say this is as good or nearly as balanced of a solution as the movement speed bonus however having these things as an option for future balance changes could be neat.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here's some suggestions, I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • Increase swing speed (Honestly a lot issues would be solve with this, the weapon lacks a good ttk)
  • Lunge distance (90% of the fight become a chase you can't win, the other classes have ways to block enemies, slow them down or catch up to them, even heavies have RPG to finish people off if they use sledge)
  • Increase damage from 84 to 90
  • Electrify the baton and give it a glitch effect, when you hit somebody they're glitched for 2,5 sec (This would give the shield so much utility and would help the team greatly, making it a viable options)
  • Remove the fov zoom when you hold your shield up (it's very annoying that when you block the screen zooms in, either remove it or add the option to choose between affected or indipendent fov while aiming)

ALLOW MELEE WEAPONS TO KEEP SPRITING WHEN ATTACKING:

  • This would help them to compete

IMPROVE MELEE TRACKING:

  • Some weapons like the Dagger have an insane lock that is not needed, on the other hand the Riot Shield has a very weak lock, you can't even hit people in your face sometimes. Consider increasing the angle at which the lock works and reduce the lock strenght on the Dagger

FIX THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Backstabs with the Dagger are the most incosistent thing I've ever seen, a lot times either nothing happens or it's not backstab even though you're right behind them and other times it is when you're literally in front of them
  • Increase the backstab hitboxes because the latency of the servers causes this problems
  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

Daily Scheduled Tournaments 🙏 tldr: Rocket League's proven system

It's a bit hard to explain so bear with me

  • Every day, X number of tournaments are scheduled to begin at predetermined times. (unique to each region)
  • Players can "join" / "sign up" to each of these tournaments to be included when they begin.
  • At the set time (e.g. 6pm) all "joined" players are automatically queued into available tournament servers.
  • These tournaments are big, more rounds, more players, and last longer.
  • A special seasonal reward is earned for winning a scheduled tournament because they are considered more significant and hold more prestige.
  • Scheduled tournaments may also impact rank (or a separate rank).

Pros

  • More excitement, prestige, and competition in the game.
  • Scheduled tournaments are reliably populated because they begin at advertised times of day.
  • No queue or matchmaking delays. (especially good for regions like OCE)

Cons

  • Potential for a sunken regular ranked population during scheduled tournament hours.

  • Imagine playing solo and being always matching against at least one Diamon1-Diamond-2 party-squad while just being Platinum 3.** Imagine never get any Diamond in your team while you always playing against them**. Platinums are currently matching against Diamonds but Solo players derank with the same rules as full Diamond squad! This is so stupid
  • Imagine seeing multiple squads with Diamond and Bronze with default skins and same KDA which is 100% smurf to abuse rank
  • Imagine losing almost every game because there is one Diamond x3 squad in party who griefs whole game because they wiping everyone and no one wants to fight them
  • Imagine receiving penalty while playing ALONE in a match when your teammates were kicked for being AFK
  • Imagine receiving tripple arrows down for dropping from a second round full of much higher ranks
  • Imagine playing only Light for 150hours when it gets nerfed to pointless and there are only H/M in Plat-Diamond lobbies

I experienced all of this during last 3 days after the new patch in every match.
I hate to admit it but solo ranked is in the worst possible state i experienced and i ever could imagine in fps game. "Problems" and whining of the first season were nothing compared to the current hell. I hate myself every second playing plat solo ranked. Unbalanced, unfun, 30% winrate experience. I lost two subranks after the new patch while I NEVER lost any ranks in my 150h ranked experience.

WHY YOU HATE ME, EMBARK? WHY? WHY YOU MATCH ME AGAINST DIAMONDS SQUADS WHILE I PLAY IN SOLO. WHY YOU DESTROYED MY MAIN CLASS? WHY YOU PUSHING AWAY YOUR LOYAL PLAYERS?

Ranked is so, so frickin' bad. Win opening round as a plat2 vs two other TRIPLE-DIAMOND stacked teams, and we lose in the 2nd round because (of course) no one goes near the remaining diamond team, and they get to walk away with three FREE cashouts, and show up at the last cashout to dump all over everyone scrambling against two other teams to just place 2nd. All that, and I still lose 2 rank down arrows. Whatever the hell that goofy trash is. Ranked is beyond busted.

Embark already came out and told us that 99% of reports come up negative for cheats. I’m not downplaying. Most people just up play it to the point where if you get killed at any point in the game they must be cheating right? The people complaining about the cheating and calling it a terrible game because of it even though every single game has cheaters is a great example of how poor some people on the community could. Some games are even worse off currently (look at the cheater issue with CS rn)

If there is only like 40k players or more playing the game at a single time, and there is maybe 250 hackers (idk if that’s realistic or not) the hackers are going to seem a lot more frequent because people will be running into those hackers more. But as the player base rises in numbers, the amount of hackers will not rise nearly as much because the percentage of legit player to Cheater is large in all scenarios. So if the game could boost its player base to 100k, maybe the game would have 1k or less cheaters at any given point. People cheat yes, but 99% of people just want to play the game for what it is, maybe more.

Embark this is what i would do to balance out the game:
Light:

  • Revert cloak activation cost (keep visibility changes)
  • LH1 dmg reduced from 49 to 47

Medium:

  • Revert AKM recoil to release patch (this should be the noob friendly ar)
  • Revert FCAR to 25 dmg and 20 bullets (this should be the higher risk AR, right now it's just an akm with less ammo)
  • CL40 damage to 100 from 110. Self damage increased to 2x
  • Healbeam doesn't stack anymore

Heavy:

  • RPG damage reduced from 140 to 100
  • Lewis dmg reduced from 25 to 23
  • M60 dmg reduced from 22 to 21
  • Mesh shield now has a 5sec cooldown after you toggle it off.

Other changes:

  • Grenades have a visual indicator that warns the player a grenade is coming/close by
  • Mines can only be placed 4m or more apart (to avoid double explosive mine cheese in some spots that are almost impossible to spot).
  • Movement reverted to patch 2.5.0. With patch 2.6.0 there are a lot of dead slides.
  • Added option to disable AA completely. (TAAU too blurry, dlss even worse).
  • Optimization. Shouldn't need high end cpu to get a smooth and responsive experience with low settings.
  • Kernel level anti cheat.
  • Remove snap AA from all guns.

Weapon balance suggestions with the goal of giving every class a place and most weapons a balanced spot

FAMAS: buff range (10m min and max) Reasoning: this gun needs something to stand out from the other rifles but its long range playstyle isn’t distinct enough. A raw DPS or ttk buff would turn this into the FCAR 2.0 so this buff is the best option to make it more distinct in it’s strengths

REVOLVER: buff range (10m min and max) Reasoning: why does this drop off at 18m 😭

MODEL 1887: increase the dispersion of the 4 pellets in the middle of the shot slightly so that the shotgun is less effective against light at range

Lh1: nerf fire rate by 50%. Buff damage from 49 to 50. Lower min damage fall off to 50m and max to 80m. Reasoning: this gun will literally kill the game if light ever becomes just as viable as the other classes. Nerf this preemptively or else you will see the worst meta since nukes.

Xp-54, 5% fire rate nerf. Reasoning: the XP is a generalist weapon that also happens to be just as good as the other light weapons in their respective niches. Those weapons aren’t even bad either, the XP is just too strong. A slight adjustment like this would help the other weapons stand out as being more worth it. The Lewis gun and rpg nerfs at the end of this giant suggestion will more than make up for these necessary light nerfs

93R: give it a drum mag, if damage stats are going to be significantly worse, allow it to sustain that lower damage for much longer. 60 round mag.

Lewis gun: buff range (+10m min and max) nerf fire rate by 20%. Reasoning: there is no reason why the long range alternative to the m60 should beat both the M60 and the SA1216 at close range, these changes will encourage users to play to the strengths of the weapon and give it a weakness close up

RPG: nerf damage to 80, remove aoe fall off, reduce cooldown by 20s. This would encourage using it for team splash damage instead of being a “fuck you” button for lights. The cooldown buff would also make it less punishing to use for destruction

ADD SOLO QUEUE to ranked. I would like to wait for 10 minutes to search players if i will not be bullied by full diamond squads against me. Current matchmaking is disgusting and unplayable when you put solo players against much higher ranks that are playing in party.
Just add it as LTM and check results or make some tests with sometimes matching only solo players in one game. This will make the game more fair and at least playable

it makes no sense to even nerf light. even with the buff to the glitch grenade why does it need to be accompanied by a nerf as well when the meta and the most oppressive comp is MHH. heals and shields add so much survivablity plus zipline and double rpg just makes their engage unstoppable. Makes absolutely zero sense to nerf light the only people complaining about invis/stungun are noobs. it isnt even that strong because a light playing invis and lurking to catch someone out with stungun isnt even contributing to their team they are just playing for kills. Meanwhile MHH comps have tons of survivability engage defense offense mobility. there is literally no weakness to MHH comps besides a MHH comp that plays better. when the only counter to a comp is the same comp that is not healthy for the game a creates a stale meta. Tbh, idk why aim assist was adjusted? Why not remove it entirely. Thanks to the new patch the katana hits everything.... There is even less aiming required.

Embark have some pointless and useless concerns that only 2010 games had, and the solutions kinda affects negatively your players, and cheaters always do a work around
tbh I love anti-cheat design/definition from valorant so I'll do some comparisons to it, and why valorant have a way more modern approach than embark (I'm not talking about being a kernel lvl anticheat)

Macro Definition:

  • In valorant the only type of macro that's really not supported is the ones that adds aim input, to avoid aimbot/aim assist and anti-recoil
  • Embark shuts down everything
  • The concern that kids would be using a cheating macro to click faster is bcs 2010 fps games with semi-auto guns had no bullet cooldown, so ppl woul fire it way too fast, not a thing here, useless reason, and tbh click too much can hurt or give health problems over the years, and ppl that play games might have that issue and that's why it's dumb af to prevent ppl from clicking fast to be a thing
    not only click fast, but embark considers cheating any kind of macro cuz they have a stupid rule that "if u pressed one key, there must be 1 input"
    which clearly in valorant isn't the case since to start off u can asign multiple keys to 1 function and multiple functions to 1 key, and also can use a macro to spam jump if u want (or whatever shit u want/need), they have better work arounds than punishing regular users that just want or need the macro
    like prevent the existence of super OP bunny hop like a 2000s game ||cs|| and any other thing from existing in the game instead of leaving it and punishing ppl for abusing, cuz that would just punish your community that have only 1 account and leave the cheaters on their 100th account be free

Client Side vs Server Side

  • to start off this game have everything server sided besides move your camera, that's totally noticeable if u lose connection to the game u freeze in place, and can't shoot, or anything, only move your head
    that's a terrible anti-cheat approach that kinda sucks to everyone playing with over 4ms ping, and just sucks in different lvls the higher we go
    ofc it makes sense to have server-sided checks for security, but that's what is supposed to be, checks
    if someone is walking, can the server confirm they are walking at regular speed? yes? so confirm their action instead of doing it for em, confirm the client sided action
    confirm the bullet their shot if it is possible
    confirm the movement, confirm the skill used, the gadget in their hand, confirm the grenade throw, the throwing knifes trajectory and in what it landed, don't do everything server sided and expect to not be somehow annoying the higher ping we go
    just do the checks and confirm the client actions considering their ping, if u disagree with client action, revert/deny it, just don't do everything server sided and than send it to client,to reproduce, it's almost like playing a game via streamming,|| just without the streamming part, with render client side,|| and guess what? even google stadia shut it down cuz isn't that good as they thought it was

I experienced a really weird bug just recently. The tournament round started, I spawned and couldn't use my weapon, specialization and any gadgets. After I died and respawned the weapon and gadgets worked again. But for rest of the round I couldn't use my specialization. It was the healing beam in this case. This has happened to me before (like every 50 rounds)

Honestly I have just played a game where a single light with that weapon has been destroying our premade. Both from long and short range. It does feel really strong, might even be the strongest weapon light has. However I was intimidated when I tried to learn it so hopefully it is at least held back by having to be good at using it.

Honestly most of light weapons are scary, they kill so fast, but I think the class deserves it for how easy it dies. It could probably do with just a reload speed nerf to force it into more longer range engagements.

I only go up on the ranked ladder if I make it to the finals in plat 2. I've won the finals 3 times in a row one day and I still didn't rank up. I queued with my friend who just started ranked, and in a matter of 2 days he surpassed me into plat 1 even though i've spent much more hours grinding, and my performance being higher than his every single game due to me having more experience. Not understanding how this ranked system works is tilting and confusing.

How to fix Light balance.

Light is impossible to balance for casual and ranked.

Have two slightly different versions of Light.

Casual Light is currently fine.
Ranked Light is pretty bad mainly due to one reason: how squishy it is.

Stun gun and cloak nerfs are good because they are unfun to fight against, but Light needs more survivability in ranked in order to be able to fulfill it's role as hyper mobile big damage precision flanker that picks off out of position targets and opportunistically looks for off angles to pump damage and disrupt enemy formations.

Give Ranked Light (tm) 25-50 shield hp that regenerates quicker than normal health. Start with 50hp extra (that's still a whole Light hp bar less than heavy atm) and then finetune it if needed.

i was having this issue for a long time,,, idk what exactly fixed it but it seemed to fix around the time i swapped out my mechanical keyboard which was weird... it was having a few other issues when i ran Finals (volume control on keyboard would stop working, buttons would double press) is why i bothered in the first place, almost wonder if it was messing up my mouse's input and not like noticing the auto tracking for the healing gun when i moved my mouse around the screen (this also might have entirely been a coincidence that it stopped around that time lol, i'm not sure)

since 2.6 I've gone from ranking up nearly every day to just meandering in a circle around plat 2 this is an incredibly thing annoying to happen mid season. It would be fine if I were just being dropped to the rank I belong in but I rank to play 2 win a few games then I get 3 or 4 matches in a row where I either get nocked out first round in all or just nocked out in second and I still derank then as soon as I hit plat 3 I get to the finals either win or lose and back to plat 2 to start the whole thing again

  1. After the new patch, the HP indicator has become very small. It has become inconvenient to look at and navigate, especially when you are healing someone. Could you please return the old size of the HP for players and allies?

  2. Could you add a separate button to disable the distance indicator above player names? It personally bothers me, and it would be great to have the option to turn it off.

Genuinely, I dont see myself coming back for Season 3.

Nearly 1000 hours since release and i just cant see a reason to continue playing.
The events are cool and the cosmetics are insane, the maps and the visuals are breathtaking but everything else has failed to hold a candle to how it used to be.

Light is borderline unplayable. heavy is still oppressive, medium keeps on getting unjustly kneecapped, the actual changes that need to happen and have been begged for since CLOSED BETA 1 are still being ignored whilst the games direction is going more and more toward the casual demographic... Yes i know there's a "Bigger" casual playerbase, but when theres noone streaming the game, when the content dries up because all the competitive hypersweats quit what else will there be.

Genuinely tired of shit like RPG still being allowed to do 140 damage, tired of shit like barricade which was genuinely fucking fine as it was getting a indirect buff to its effectiveness, im tired of the skill gap getting smaller and smaller with each patch to the point where theres no skill involved its who gets carried by AA or Random Bullshit Gadget spam go.

Stun Gun is a waste of equipment, at this point just remove it from the game.
Glitch nades dont even work half the time anymore.

The thing about comp shooters is you cannot force them to exist. Blizzard tried that with Overwatch and the game was slowly declining from that point on with a lot of player frustration. Valve tried changing TF2 to include the version of comp they wanted and a lot of people stopped playing on valve servers even for casuals because the casual queuing got hit with the same changes as comp.

You have to cater to casual audiences, hope you build the playerbase and wait for leagues to appear, scout for them and support them when they emerge until you are eventually able to create a tournament for everyone that doesn't loose you money and at that point you can start getting into the e-sport status.

It's like coming up with a new sport, people who want to play professionally aren't gonna watch it, and who is gonna watch them if nobody likes the sport?

Attacking team wiping out defenders without even starting the decryption = instant win even if there are only seconds on the clock.

Defenders wiping the attackers still have to stop the decryption.

This is unbalanced.

Second, last match refused to load me in with my partner. Match started without me, I go to restart and get hit with a leaving penalty.

Players are now killing themselves on the losing side at the end of matches to avoid leaving penalty.

General feedback: let us re-roll circuit contracts using VRs. I don't want to play Quick Cash ever.

Day 52 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no “pocket minigun” strats, choosing to use this is a commitment
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

Hello, I'd like to express my frustration regarding the current state of the dagger.

It was never a particularly good weapon, however this recent patch has completely destroyed any value that it could previously provide. The dash-backstab/akiba step technique was removed in 2.6, I'm assuming it has something to do with the way the new backstab hitbox registers.

Whether it was intended to remove this technique or not doesn't matter to me, as far as I know it was considered an exploit but even then, it was the only way a dagger player could provide any sort of value to the team by diving into a squad and getting a kill or two using this technique. It gave you a solution when you were staring down the barrel of a Medium or Heavy instead of instantly getting melted trying to run away. It was a high risk/high reward strategy and required a good amount of skill to pull off effectively, and boy was it satisfying.

However after this recent patch, it is with no question the absolute worst weapon you could pick for any possible scenario. Backstabs don't work half the time due to the new hitbox behavior, if the enemy turns ever so slightly in any direction your backstab will most likely not be registered and you will get killed instantly.

Trying to run up/drop down on a player seeking a backstab is very hard since any semi-competent player will hear your footsteps and just turn around, previously I could have used the dash-backstab technique to solve that situation by dashing behind them as they turned around to get the backstab, but the removal of the technique is forcing me to rely on basic movement and most of the time it's all for nothing since they will hear me the moment I come up behind them.

I just feel like complete dead weight that my teammates have to drag across the arena. It's frustrating for them and for me because I can't get anything done and even when I do get a kill I feel like I have to work twice as hard compared to before this update.

There's a few things there that I'm going to comment on.

yes I found myself also questioning what there is to actually do, if you are max level, diamond in ranked, unlocked everything, have all the skins you want.
what, grind leaderboard placement? what is the point, seeing as the lobbies diamond players get ARE NOT diamond lobbies.
i've found myself just playing casually now and again on the new modes, but for what? there is a lack of progression, anything to grind or achieve at all.

I agree, a big part of the competitive community left the game the moment there was no private-matches on release. not just that, but they allowed nukes in the game for the entirety of season 1. As well there was zero message from Embark about the competitive scene, and still no official tournaments announced - meaning why risk your career on a game that has ZERO money being spent on esports. Scrims banned nukes and HHM because they were not competitive.
BUT they DID nerf all of these, MESH shield nerfed, nukes outright removed.
They also have nerfed defib an insane amount of times, nerfed c4, rpg, H auto shotty, L shotty, and stun glitch invis fcar...

All of these things were nerfed because the competitive community KNEW they were all broken (because they play the game every day for 10h), and the stats backed it up.

completely agree, ESPECIALLY the spawns. the fact you can pinpoint where teams are going to spawn COMPLETELY BREAK the entire flow of the game the EXACT reason recon was a MUST PICK.
there needs to be dynamic spawning where the game figures out where all the other players in the lobby are, where the cashouts are, and spawn you in a location which is an optimal place. it should be impossible to know the exact location of where a team spawns.
although, every fps shooter has terrible matchmaking, MMR etc so im not too mad about that.

Lastly, I'm just going to say that Embark is the goat. They have fixed bugs, balanced things dozens of time in a season, added lots of content AND skins. NO OTHER FPS GAME gets this treatment. Yes they can be slow on specific things in the game, and not have other features that many games have BUT they are getting there.
other games stay in the same state for YEARS, and this game barely stays the same between seasons.

Why do you have SEVERAL circuit contracts to deposit 150K cash and 75K cash. Absolutely tedious and unfun!

If you're playing solo this is extremely hard to attain, unless you're grinding it! Contracts shouldn't make you grind the game. But I'm forced to play Cash modes (which I highly dislike).

On top of that, Bank It mode doesn't even count team deposits. I thought this was a team game? So if I help the team, and my teammate deposits, I'm screwed either way.

Reduce it. Change it. Get rid of it. Whatever.

And yeah I know there's still time to complete it, but that's not the point, I shouldn't be forced to grind certain modes, if I can deposit 5k-10k on average each game optimistically, that's still 30 games I have to grind. Every other contract is fine, but this is just beyond grindy.

replace ranked tournament with a 3v3 first to 30k. this alone would solve so many balance issues as light is a lot more viable in 3v3 and team comps built on sustaining wouldnt be as important because there wouldnt be any ratting.

knockout rounds are genuinely terrible and i dont think anyone likes them. it feels like playing a BR.

Moving to 3v3 would make queue times nearly instant and would also make a good ranked system 10000x easier to implement and understand for players.

to make the 3v3 not boring, speed up respawns and close respawn distance, rework the coin system as an alternate objective, and lower the coin time.

finally, bring back unranked tournament at full length (4 rounds) and put a 50 multibuck reward behind winning a tournament every week. this would keep the mode competitive and fun without being way too sweaty. and also incentivize people to keep playing the core finals experience for fun, even if the tournament format is very flawed.

( @pearl kiln i know its generally a bad thing to ping you on stuff but PLEASE there is quite a significant general consensus in the ranked community that knockout rounds suck and cashout system as it is right now isnt competitive, 3v3 would quite literally save ranked)

There's a weird thing going on with the goo gun and power shift platform. I've noticed that in power shift you get stuck just for being around goo that's already placed which makes sense until I give furthur explaination.

When goo grenades, canisters, and goo gun are used on non moving surfaces, you can touch them and you won't get stuck on them. But on the power shift platform and only the powershift platform (Other moving surfaces don't have this problem) you get stuck on them even if you don't touch them. Sometimes it's like you get sucked into the goo. I'm talking about goo that was already.

The other problem is the power shift platform actually being so bugged. Somes you can't even climb out of the powershift platform even if the platform is evened out. Especially as a light vaulting over the wall is literally impossible sometimes for no reason and other times the plateform won't even let you move. Like you get stuck on nothing at times. With out fail these bugs had lead to my death near 100% of the time.

Getting stuck on nothing in this game is kinda normal and not being able to activate climb animations when they are supposed to activate is something that occurs daily but I over look it but the power shift gamemode just seems to be where everything can and will go wrong. I think the engine is the main issue here mainly because I've used unreal engine for years in school. So I understand how janky it is to work with especially with animations but I just needed to get that off my chest. I think getting stuck on goo makes sense because it's goo, but it's not consistent which is where the frustration comes from, but also dealing with getting stuck because the goo wall is a couple feet from you while you're on the power shift obj or just getting stuck on air make the frustrations more agonizing when you die and get tea bagged from a player who is struggling to get more than 1 kill.

If you need any clarifications, just let me know. I can iron things out a bit more with less rush.

LH1 has too much visual movement and recoil, big issue when its on the "movement" class, I shouldnt be forced to give up my only advantage to make use of my weapon. needs a visual movemnt buff if anything. Flashbang could use a duration / radius buff, the hitmarkers are super misleading, and moving into a room after getting the hit marker and immediately getting beamed is getting old. flashbang needs to only have hit marker on full flash, and full flash needs a duration buff due to the mechanics of the game

i think that crossplay should be turned off. in order for the game to become more competitive, players with computer assisted aim should be put against other players with computer assisted aim. The whole point of aim assist was to give controller players a chance against mnk, which indicates a skill disparity between using raw controller input and mouse and keyboard input.

I am not really sure about the balancing philosophy behind cloak, why have something like invisibility but nerf it until it is easy to see? Isn't the point of being invisible to not be seen? If you really don't want invis in your game then replace it with something else like you did with recon but the state cloak is in right now is just pathetic and doesn't make sense at all.

Goo is a great defensive tool but I don't think they've programmed the mechanics with the platform properly.. the only way I've seen where people get stuck is when the platform gets hit by explosives or when it's about to turn/change direction, then the reverse gravity or whatever sucks you into the goo. 🤔 I personally experienced these methods too.

The change to 3 rounds instead of 4 is a great move already, and in my personal experience I don't get any platinum or diamond players in my Gold 1 lobbies anymore thanks to the matchmaking update.
Every game is a third party simulator, but in this particular game, it's to be expected but that doesn't mean it's bad. Annoying yes, especially solo, but easily manageable.
Overall ranked is moving in a good direction. They already said the main change will happen at the beginning of next season in 4 weeks. So look forward to that.

  • I hate stun gun (even as a light main) so I'm fine with removing it.
  • Glitch Nades work all the time for me (minus APS of course!)
  • hidden MMR is annoying to determine rank but I'm still getting promoted so all good
  • love long range with the sniper

@worn sigil it's to create a more competitive ranked scene. playing with friends is a situation i understand and it makes sense to have crossplay on in that instance. However, my hope is that the finals becomes more of a competitive game. Playing with your friends in ranked isnt really a competitive aim, its more of a social one, you want to progress and advance with people you know, however it skews skill-based performance if one friend who is less skilled is able to do more with a controller. One example of a game where I think has a thriving comp scene is valorant. The limited platform removes any skill bias from a different input source. You're right in that crossplay shouldnt be turned off completely, but I think it should be turned off for ranked.

Cross play with Pc and console shouldn’t be forced at ALL. Look at Ubisoft the king of fucking up every IP they have and making shit games. Hello! Maybe it was intentional, but the dagger has been changed a lot since the animation changes in 2.6. Now it is impossible to hit the dash and then stab combo, and back stabs in general seem a LOT more difficult. I'd love to see the dagger back to its original state! Thanks.

Diamond lobbies are just HHM with the same exact loadouts, 1 mesh, 1 charge, 1 heal, 4 barricades, 2 bubble shields and 2 rpgs. It's so hard to play against and is creating a really stale meta where no one dies because there's just too much HP to get through.
When this bleeds in to casual games people are gonna get tired of it real fast.
My group runs 2 APS turrets and glitch nades purely to try to counter it, but that isn't enough sometimes.
Each section of the barricade takes like 4-5 mags from the FCAR, and you can't fit through with just one section missing, you need to shoot 8-10 mags in to the barricade to make a hole big enough, that's just way to strong imo.

Something needs to be done about the shields, because if a team running HHM has like 1500hp more than us, aaaaand also have a way to delete someone with 2 RPGs, it's just far too strong. Give the mesh and bubble shields a weak spot maybe?
Once again diamond lobbies are plagued with it atm, it will trickle down soon.

The light class needs a massive buff. Heavy and medium typically have a much higher damage output than the light, even though light is meant to be a glass cannon and do tons of damage. Also, repeatedly nerfing the light class while giving very little back only worsens the situation. We need to move from a nerf heavy meta to one where weapons and gadgets can get buffed every week, allowing the meta to shift constantly and consequently bringing more players back to the game who found it stale.

@worn sigil ig if mixed parties were put against other mixed parties it would be more "fair" in the overall sense, but for a mixed lobby it would still be inherently less equal in terms of skill within the lobby, when compared to other "pure" lobbies. Also, the idea of queueing with your friends making your ranked experience less, or at least differently, skill-based doesn't seem like the best way to implement a sbmm.
I think the best way to resolve this is to think about the goal of ranked. If you want to queue with your friends, is your primary goal to play the best you can against other players of similar skill or is it to have fun with friends? Both goals can be present, but the question is which one takes priority. I don't want to alienate a huge player base by restricting the platforms the finals is played on, but I also don't want to make true sbmm impossible with unresolvable differences between kbm and controller. There's only so much the devs can do to try to make the skill to performance ratio equal when playing on console vs pc, but at the end of the day the experiences are drastically different with different kinds of skill required to be good at each platform. That's why I'm holding firm on the suggestion that ranked should be split, but I do agree with your point about the value of having a social aspect to the game.

There's also the thing about how controller is diff for each class, eg. light is more movement based, so controller is worse for light unless you have crazy high sens, which means more aim assist to compensate, heavy is more stationary so aiming while not moving/behind cover and barricades is more beneficial so aim assist doesn't need to be as strong, but im not going to go into that.

What ele do you expect from ex battlefield devs. It took them 3 months just to remove nuke. 3 fucking months. By that time 90% of their community already left. I kind of believe mesh shield should get the recon sense or defib treatment. What's made Heavy consistently strong is their tank- it's also the least interesting thing about them, both to fight and to play. Previous Heavy nerfs have reduced Heavy's strength a bit, but stuff like RPG no longer being able to cover the sledgehammer's biggest weakness and the lowered demolition potential of C4 have made Heavy a little bit less fun to play. Not to say that Heavy shouldn't have damage mitigation potential, but I don't know if a giant freely toggleable wall of health that stacks with dome shield is the way to do it.

The update to ranked tournaments is ruining the previous ranked experience. Before you could win 1-2 rounds and receive somewhere between 1 up to 1 down arrow(give or take depending on ranked). After the new update, every game that you do not get to the final round will result in loss of arrows which is a ridiculous change. we understand that this was because of multiple reasons. 1. The length of the overall tournament, now you are forced to play all the way to the finals whether you like it or not just to get an up arrow. 2. Better matchmaking, for one this will always be an issue in any game except now we are still being matched with people up to 3 ranks above us and then being penalized when not beating them and making it to the finals. These changes may be an overall quality of life fix for the game but making them in the middle of a season randomly with no warning is absurd.
The health bar and names should have there own settings per person. Not some set version that can change randomly.

The fcar is still op. The multiple damage and recoil nerfs were not enough. Personally I think to help aid the more casual and low rank players there should be a 50% chance if you are platinum+ that one of your bullets is a blank, and anybody gold and below does not have this chance.

Out of 10 matches today- I've been Q'd into 8 straight matches with a teammate that is either unranked or 6-7ranks(sometimes even farther below) below my own. Some sort of matchmaking barrier needs to be added in to prevent lower MMR players getting into higher MMR games. There's no reason I should be on the same team or in the same game as someone that's nowhere near the skill level as the rest of the lobby. I'd rather play with 1 teammate that's either 1-2ranks below/above me or the same rank as myself, than have to babysit and guide someone who doesn't understand the basis of the game. It kills the drive to want to play competitively.

yo please make this game more competitive again. Balancing towards "casuals" is not working. since season 2 dropped the player count has only went down. When I started playing in season 1 this game was so much fun, no it wasn't perfect but it felt so close to being something really special. but ever since the start of season 2 after every update things just get worse and worse.
you say you listen to the community but it don't feel like that. Every time a balance update rolls around it's like you devs pick a couple things at random some random casuals complain about and nerf it into the ground and ignore what the rest of the community is begging you to do. dagger still doesn't work, light is useless (wasn't good to begin with but after all the nerfs it's just unplayable), heavy is still the most oppressive class, you changed a ranked system most players thought was good and made it feel bad to play ranked and leaves players confused as hell on if they are close to ranking up or de-ranking. the medium class still has no identity they are essentially just sidekicks to heavies, healing them, defibing them, placing jump pads and zip lines for their heavy teammates to get around the map faster. and the anticheat still feels like it just isn't there at times.
many of us hope you devs make some big changes season 3 bc we want to love this game so much. you guys just make it hard sometimes to do that.

Most incorrect statement. HHM dominates the meta because heavy is so op it’s not even funny. Insane amount of damage output with rpg/charge/lmgs that have so much ammo and high dps. Also the highest health by an extra 100 hp. With a medium pocket healing the heavy just straight up doesn’t die. Heavy needs an overhaul and a LOT of changes to balance it. The speed of heavy isn’t even that much slower tbh and when you use bounces and zips correctly the effects of slower movement become negligible

Would it break the game if they added the ability to modify your guns with different optics and barrel mods? Nothing else just those two features. Heavy:
Rpg: Lower burst damage and raise structural damage, make it useful as an environmental destruction tool instead of a massive aoe burst.
Dome shield: Lower deploy time? Maybe make it deploy slower so you have to use it more strategically.
Barricade: Lower barricade Hp.
C4: Raise damage a bit, maybe lower cd. Nothing too drastic but it's pretty bad right now.
Motion sensor: Give it a bigger range and lower cd? I don't think I've seen a single heavy use this.
Ks23: Maybe make be able to 2 shot walls so it has a better niche, since right now it's not great.
Charge and Slam: Decrease aoe slam range. The aoe range is pretty absurd most of the time.
Mesh shield: Either lower total HP or make it deploy slower. Either way this thing has been always super good.

Medium:
Defib: No i-frames, longer cd. Most busted gadget since always.
Aps: Bigger range, but a limit on projectiles destroyed?
Glitch trap: Maybe make it have a temporary recon effect (~1s) and lower CD. Return to 10s
Data Reshaper: Either longer range and shorter CD or rework it so it can do it's job better. It's cool but not very good.
Heal beam: Give it a toggle cost and lower the heal rate when healing a target that's already being healed (2 heal beams one 1 player will heal at a slower rate than right now).
Dematerializer: Lower CD, maybe more consistent on the area it removes? Weakest specialization for medium overall but it's definitely the coolest.
Revolver: Longer range and maybe a slightly faster fire rate?
Riot shield: Make it be able to block melee attacks (sword, hammer...) Not sure how to make it better with a direct buff, maybe increase the size by a bit?
Light:
Stun: Make it still give the glitch effect, but let people ads, crouch etc...please make it not instantly remove all momentum.
Thermal vision: Make it be able to... see fire? It's literally thermal vision. Also being able to distinguish between teams would be nice.
Tracking dart: Increase damage (10?) and lower holster time.

PUBG recieved a significant boost in player numbers after they optimized their game. . to start off, i love the idea of the aps, the ability of being able to defend an area locking down a room is fun
. but its just unfair in some situation all because the "fck your projectile" part of APS.
for a weapon like the GL that shoot projectile you basically lose the fight automatically

Can we get a rework of the emote/communication system? Hardly anyone uses it because its so clunky. Especially on controller.

There's 4(!) different wheels. Two preset, and of the two customisable ones, only one can actually be bound.

This is really poor.

You should reduce the wheels to two and let both be fully customised and bound, and/or map emotes directly to buttons.

I generally only want 2-3 in use anyway. If I could put a couple of sounds and an animation on my d-pad to trigger directly, i'd use them much more.

Which would also translate to more cosmetic sales, because they wouldn't effectively be dead items like they are now.

Grapple: Lower the cd depending on how long the grapple is activated. (Full length = full cd, short grapple = short cd)

  • two charges of grapple with slight increased cooldown. Or 1 charge but less cooldown compared to now.
  • glitch duration 7,5s instead of 5s
  • stun gun should at least neutralize specialization or gadgets

Just went into ranked solo and got a team of all Golds, and was stacked up against 3 other teams that were all Platinums. Then one of my teammates leaves the game on start. Needless to say this lowered my rank due to loss. I dont get why in these situations it didnt mix up the teams a little bit more then just 3 golds vs 3 other teams of full platinums

Suggestion:

KS-23 and other "fragment reload" weapons should be able to have their reload paused by aiming down sights. In its current state, mid reload, if you wish to shoot someone you're forced to either:
A: hip fire.
B: swap to/from the weapon.

This change would improve the fluidity of using these weapons, and is likely to slightly increase pick-rate without implicitly improving the weapon itself.

Light in casual is in a pretty good spot, maybe even slightly overtuned weapons wise (xp-51).

Light in ranked is in a slightly underpowered spot.

My suggestion is make two slightly different versions of light.

Keep casual light as it is, maybe some slight weapon nerfs.

Buff ranked light with more hp. Nothing else is needed. Stun and cloak nerfs were warranted. Give light 50hp. If it's overtuned, lower it. Healthy range should be around 25-50, im leaning towards 200hp.

Make 100hp of light hp shield hp that regens faster than regular hp. Only in ranked!

Terminal Attack

With 1 point to attack and defend and letting the Defenders spawn at the point would be way more interesting.

The attackers have the benefit of knowing where they are. And the defenders don't have to guess what to defend.

Now you're attacking and defending as much and it doesn't really matter on which team your on since the attackers just go to the point that isn't guarded and then have to defend that and the defenders have to attack that.

The point of the defibrillator nerf was to stop people using it in the middle of a fight and instantly gaining a player back, but people still do this as even if it takes a while to spawn. I would make it so you can damage spawning players so that they can't defib mid fight. This would mean you have to use cover and fall back, but doesn't require 5 seconds of safety to respawn normally. Also heal beam is to strong. You shouldn't be able to have 2 beams on one person and it should heal at an accelerating pace, with damage to the player reseting the speed. This would make it less viable mid fight and makes it a tool to recover from fights quicker, not to be used in fights. Also heavy out dps medium with higher damage potential and more health. Either nerf heavy Lewis, m60 and sa12, or buff akm, model(idk the shotgun), fcar and famas damage. Light as a whole is to weak, but the stun gun nerfs were needed. A class shouldn't be strong cuz a free kill on cooldown. I think it should have a buff to damage, and the v9s should be automatic. The v9s is just annoying to use and spam clicking while tracking feels unnatural. I also think light should regen faster as any damage puts you out of the fight until full hp. Also cloak should be full invis unless within a certain distance (5-15m), but the time to cloak should take longer (1-2s) and there should be a time to decloak (1-2s). You also wouldn't be able to use items in cloak. Like Spy. This would make cloak good for positioning, but less effective as a method as a way to run from fight (time to cloak) or start fight from bad position (time to exit cloak + no shooting in cloak). Also I think you should spawn closer to cashouts as it feels like a walking simulator. While light is overpicked in casual, I don't think it is cuz it to good in casual, rather that the other classes aren't as fun. Try to add fun to the other classes (like rocket jumping for heavy) to decrease pickrate in casual, while buffing overall for competitive

Customizable Team colours in game
Too many times colours are too similar of enemy teams. Using the colour blind mode somewhat fixes this however it does still happen.
What I would want instead is being able to select what colour a team is and make it fixed and carry from game to game like:
Your Team: Blue
Enemy team A: Red
Enemy team B: Gold
Enemy team C: Pink
And let us change these colours as we see fit to suit our preferences.

My solution to last minute steals: firstly, leaking cashouts are flawed as they give to much advantage to the team that starts the cashout, and forces you to rush to steal. My solution is that each team has their own timer + 30s neutral timer at start of cashout. Neutral timer is to allow others to travel to cashout and start fighting. Each team would have there own 1:30 timer. This means that all money still goes to one team, and there isn't a rush to steal asap and more time to be strategic, but is stops last second cashouts as if they steal last second, you have 1m 30s to steal back. This still punishes teams for loosing the cashout, but doesn't instantly unfairly reward those who steal last second and don't have to hold it at all. After 30s Neutral timer, whoever started cashout owns it, and it can still be stolen in Neutral timer to make it so your teams timer start first. Also, you need to spawn closer to the cashout as walking 200m takes forever. Additionally, buff goo with 1.5-3x health as goo gun and grenades feel to weak as they can be destroyed too fast. Also let goo check for multiple contact points, as currently goo can only have one contact point which makes goo structures significantly weaker and allows you to destroy a goo grenade wall by destroying one goo. Also, famas has less dps and damage potential than akm so it has no place. Either make it have higher dps or more damage potential. Also medium revolver has low dps and damage potential, it has no place. Give it high hipfire accuracy and a slight dmg buff (still weaker than akm) which would give it a place as a longer range alternative to shotgun (hipfire accuracy would allow for more movement like the shotgun, but it would have less dmg and option for more range when ADS). Heavy slugger also needs a dps buff.

@slow abyss there needs to be no solution to last second steals. If you didn't defend it, tough luck move on to the next one. The only thing they need to change is the spawn as even though you can have a teammate still alive, using a counter puts you on the other side of the map, with no way to defend the remaining time.
The whole point is being strategic as to which cashout to push depending on the time left, and how to defend if you have a few seconds to go.
Last second steals are amazing and shouldn't be changed.

Firstly, MnK is objectively an advantage, and it makes sense to not gatekeep it from consoles. You can flick faster, have 3 points of motion vs a thumb and have more buttons in a better layout that is less restrictive on what 2 things can be done at once. If controller was just as good as MnK then aim assist wouldnt exist and esports players would use them. 2nd, yes it is your fault for loosing the cashout and you should be punished for it, but stealing last minute and getting the money isn't fair. If you defend and teamwipe other teams and dominate for 1:50, but then mess up once and someone last minute steals, how can you say the person who steals deserves the money more than the team that defended it and dominated in a 3v3v3/ 3v3v3v3 for 1:50. My suggestion means that last minute steals would still exist, and would still be clutch and feel great, but now you need to defend it for 1:30 to keep it like the other team. There are some cheese ways to steal like demit which don't take skill. When considering balance, it isn't just about if you played bad, but also if the others played better and if they deserve it. Basically, yes you deserve to loose it but stealing doesn't mean you deserve to win it, and you should have to do what the first team did. If you want to debate further, dm cuz 30m slowmode is pain. Also the pain of loosing a cashout to a last minute steal outweighs getting one. Edit: I can see you typing, just dm cuz 30m slow mode. If you want you can summarize the debate after. But for now just dm.

Yeah I understand that frustration and maybe agree to a certain extent, but for the most part, if you keep adding minutes on, the whole lobby will want a piece of the cashout and then the game will be stuck on 10k cashout forever. Never seeing a 15k or 22k cashout. How would you fix that problem?

Deserving it is a case by case basis.
If I play it perfectly stealthy as the original defending team is fighting and I goo/smoke steal last second, of course I deserve it IMO.
Deserving it as I dodge all the H & M as light and not being beamed by a turret in the corner etc.. I mean.

Yes things like demat require less skill but you can easily defend against it by things like punching over the cashout so they have to waste 2 demat charges stealing it leaving a roof slot open as the third charge closes one of them.

Yes getting 3rd partied last second triple healing mediums or HHM is annoying but I know I can still win by cashing out the 22k.

1, if 4 teams 4x1.5 + 0.5 6.5m theoretical max, but usually 2 teams at each cashout so 3.5m max, which isn't that long. Also cashouts aren't stolen that often. To clarify, if it gets stolen your timer is paused, not reset.

2nd, I disagree. I think you deserve the steal and defence advantage, but not the entire cashout cuz you goo and smoke. Avoiding fights isn't hard, especially as light with mobility or invis, and destruction exist, so you can hide a floor below.

3rd, you don't know how the floor is segmented without demat and is a bit of luck. Admittedly, I don't see others do it often and it isn't very consistent.

4th, what if it was the 22k. Also even if it doesn't make you loose it puts you at a disadvantage and a team at an undeserved advantage. Also quick cash which I play cuz no one plays ranked in Australia servers for some reason (suggestion, team deathmatch mode you can play in que for ranked, more will play ranked if can play game while queuing, disable for regions with low que times)

Also I've been in situations where I'm able to steal, the team that owns is still alive and near, but they can't kill cuz trapped or stalled by team (there is no counter to goo gun stalling)(once I trapped the defenders in a moving elevator with anti-gravity making cashout block hatch, stole, and they didn't have time to steal back. They were right next to the cashout the entire time but lost)

This can go on forever, and I recommend using dms. I don't think I need to continue to add walls of txt to the chat.

whoever came up with the earning so much cash for however long you hold cashout is a genius. 2 games in a row now ive went 11-4 with 3 deposits and they were all 3 zerged in the last 15-30 seconds. Im losing rank for playing good and holding the cashout the longest just because my team cant compete against 2 other teams pushing at the last minute. Being the most kill dominant and objective dominant team at the same time just to lose with 5k cash is ridiculous. Teams shouldnt be ranked up just because they sit and wait in corners until the last second.

idk if this is something that just I want but for a long time ive been thinking that the heavy should be given like a ww2 anti tank rifle, extremely slow reload and rechamber speed with low ammo count per mag but long range and extremely high damage. no scope just iron sights and probably a large accuracy penalty for firing while moving. basically just a better version of the slug shotgun except intended for long range.

Btw I love playing Light with Goo Smoke Frag/Glitch and the occasional healer medium

i agree lights are very good a that but no one plays light because theres 25 silver players in here complaining everyday that lights arent viable bc they need cloak to get kills. and to counter your point the heal heal mesh usually is a 3 stack meta. if youre solo you have to find other ways to defend because teambuilding sucks in this game. i use demat bc as a solo queue the best thing i can do is drop the cashout box and slay out to help my team. so regardless when you have 4 mediums and 2 charge heavies rushing the building for the cashout with 30 seconds left you just arent gonna defend. has nothing to do with defending better. its about being able to do nothing about the situation and losing rank because of a factor you cant control. thats my genuine point no hate or anything i see your side too. just as a game with shitty sbmm its hard to say team talent should be looked at over player talent.

Specialization idea: Dropkick. When you press the specialization key you start charging and build up speed, then when you press jump you perform the dropkick. The longer you built up speed, the farther the person getting hit will go.

Give it to the light class perhaps, would be a fun thing to use.

General stuff I think should be tweaked/fixed:

Glitch grenades (multiple instances where they haven't worked when I throw them at matrix shields).

You should be able to hold the throwing knife right click at the cost of not being able to sprint.

RPG does too much damage, I always saw it as a way to open up structures from a distance, instead it is only being used as a mini nuke.

Give us the option to completely disable melee aim assist, I find that I'm fighting against it more then it is helping me.

Smoke grenades should be denser and cover a larger area, it's a little useless at the moment since people can see straight through it.

Sniper feels like an out of place weapon. People can sit cross-map and kill you since the weapon is hit-scan. At least turn the bullet into a projectile so that it's less annoying on modes like power shift.

Cloak is unfun to play with or against in my opinion. I would be cool with it being removed from the game if it meant giving the light class some buffs, perhaps a little more HP or a passive effect. Vanish bomb can stay though.

Consider giving the grappling hook a shorter cooldown or the ability to grab cashboxes & cans/barrels.

MP5 should do less damage, especially from medium range.

I can feel there is some kind of sbmm in game. For what @queen cloud says, he means when you are a new player but actually a smurf, the game doesn't know that so it gives him easier lobbies to learn so he can get many kills. (If there is no sbmm he would get 10kd through his career.) But as you progress and play the system learns your skill level then it will give you lobbies that suits your skill level. But tbh I think the sbmm in casual mode of this game is not very strict.
And as for kills if you play the objective you would have a relatively low KD. But if you engage and disengage smartly you can have a high KD while not winning. So it really is playstyle related.

@daring fossil but in your screenshot the damages dealt in each team combined are relatively the same. So you could still say it's team balanced. But guessing what really is the matchmaking system won't be accurate.

So I really want devs to tell us what kind of matchmaking system they are using and update us with changes.

@hollow valve if it does have SBMM, its not strict at all because I constantly play against all skill levels, I get brand new accounts on my teams vs aim gods all the time. Or just lobbies filled with nothing but potatoes, or just lobbies filled with aim gods, there's litterally no middle ground and in my experience after 700+ hours it seems completely random. If you look at the screenshot I posted, I had the most kills and the most objective points.

Main idea: Getting your full build slowly through rounds of the tournament by using the money you win like in CSGO or LoL could help break out the monotony and stale meta compositions by simply not giving players access to them up until they've earned them. It would also give players an incentive to risk cashing out during the last minutes of the match instead of simply throwing the cashbox away so no one can cash out.

Sbmm doesn't mean you get 1kd through your career... Take Apex Legends as example, some streamers even play ranked they still have 3 4 5kd. (And 2.25kd is not very high end.)
A general idea is the more strict the sbmm is, the more likely you will be matched with same skilled players thus a KD closer to 1. The less strict the sbmm is, the more likely you will be matched with other skill brackets, you would have more chance to "dominate" the lobbies and get more kills.
And if you want to make a match within like 1 min, the player numbers is a factor too. There might not be just enough players like your skill level currently in your region, but it has to balance the teams somehow. So they might put bad, middle, good players in one team. Then you could easily gun weaker enemies in other teams and still have a high KD.

But still I wish devs could inform us how the matchmaking system works. Then I would call that the most honest game ever. (Or just generally how the system works.) But it's ok if they don't since no multi player games do that, because the mm system could be interpreted as protecting certain players' interest.

I mean, that's kind of the point. Not everyone deserves to get diamond. There's millions of CS players and only a few hundred global elites (well in CSGO anyways). I think they need to stop offering fomo skins in ranked though now that the ranks are actually skill based. Yeah sure, getting diamond skins actually shows your skill now, but still, I want the diamond skins but I can't be bothered playing ranked solo and I probably wouldn't make it to diamond now anyways (especially solo).

@bleak nexus I mean, if all you're doing is killing, and it's not actually helping your team, than I can see it. I get "good" lights on my team all the time, but if all they do is kill, they don't support the team, they don't revive, and they take fights while being the last alive (and then die). They could have 20kd and still be absolutely useless to the team. I prioritize helping my team, reviving, keeping everyone alive and stopping steals VS just killing everyone when I play light. Most lights just play for themselves, they will run right past a player statue just to fight a team and die, that type of shit is why people hate lights. I main light and I hate most lights, if I get a light on my team I play medium otherwise there's a good chance we lose. Not saying you do this, just saying that's why people hate lights. I get harrassed all the time too, and I consider myself one of the few people who actually play light properly.

I am a plat 1 sniper only player. I could do 10000 dps and go 15-0 and they still will blame me. Ironically its not even unbalanced. I keep up as light super well, I dont need buffs. It just takes more than 2 braincells to play. Which most people don't have. QOL improvement: the MGL32 should explode on impact with an enemy. This is already really hard to achieve but would take away some of the frustrating nature when fighting up close.

I think you mean the whole game. I can't hit shit after about 5PM EU. It's amazing seeing the yellow crosshair while your opponent is 2m away, and somehow you still need to empty 2 or 3 mags in his face before he dies. It's fucking ridiculous. Between 2 and 4PM EU everything works fine. After 5PM EU the game's hit registration is a fucking joke. I guess the severs can't keep up with the MASSIVE player base.

Riot Shield Stuffs Ive noticed while playing absolutely nothing but Riot Shield:
1: Pyro Grenades sticking to the shield. It makes my cry :< It covers the screen and will just continuously do damage until im dead. Theres no way to take it off or prevent it happening either. Ive also heard if you switch off of riot shield to a different gun or class, this bug will stick with you until the games end.
2: Traveling on the zipline will cause your legs to mesh through the front of the shield, basically rendering the shield useless.
3: Sliding while blocking will also cause legs to go through the shield.
4: Melee damage is almost never blocked but other melees. Swords will just melt you even if you're blocking and looking at the direction they are attacking from.

Now some QOL changes:
PLEASE make the shield like 10% bigger and let it cover my weak little feet 😩 Im just a sitting duck unless I literally surprise attack every single enemy i see. they just poke at my feet until im dead. There is no way i can do damage to an enemy if they can just exploit the shield and get free damage.

OH MY GOD CHARGE AND SLAM. It is just a one tap. I HAVE to get close to enemies to actually kill them, and heavy just spams charge and slam as soon as i even exist in the same room. Blocking does absolutely nothing.

WHY DOES FIRE GO THROUGH MY SHIELD?? Blocking does nothing. I feel like the shield should at least block or take reduced damage from fire. Again i have to get close to the enemy, and fire outdamages me, so I just cant do any damage. I sit around and hope that a turret or teammate will get them low enough for my to even attempt to kill them.

I understand why it was done but the combination a missing out on a load of things because I didn't suddenly get better over the course of a few weeks is incredibly irritating and the fact that I came to this game because my mate was like "oh the ranked isn't as serious as it is in CS and there's not as much grinding as in Sea Of Thieves" really got me here and I was actually having fun in a competitive game for once just casually ranking up getting closer towards Diamond and now I've been reset back to the place I was in when I did play CSGO of feeling the need to constantly grind to rank up and getting incredibly fucking irritated when my team mates do something stupid or one of the other teams in the game are a bit too good to just be in my rank is forcing me away from the game.. I'm not looking to be stressed when playing a game that's competitive or semi-competitive any more

I've been asking for this for months (pretty much since launch), it got to the point where I just stopped using the revolver altogether and started maining the AK when I play medium. (revolver was the first weapon I max leveled after LH1). It's not worth it using the revolver when there's so much RNG involved, and with such a high skill weapon, there should be 0 RNG involved.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here's some suggestions, I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • Increase swing speed (Honestly a lot issues would be solve with this, the weapon lacks a good ttk)
  • Lunge distance (90% of the fight become a chase you can't win, the other classes have ways to block enemies, slow them down or catch up to them, even heavies have RPG to finish people off if they use sledge)
  • Increase damage from 84 to 90
  • Electrify the baton and give it a glitch effect, when you hit somebody they're glitched for 2,5 sec (This would give the shield so much utility and would help the team greatly, making it a viable options)
  • Remove the fov zoom when you hold your shield up (it's very annoying that when you block the screen zooms in, either remove it or add the option to choose between affected or indipendent fov while aiming)

ALLOW MELEE WEAPONS TO KEEP SPRITING WHEN ATTACKING:

  • This would help them to compete

IMPROVE MELEE TRACKING:

  • Some weapons like the Dagger have an insane lock that is not needed, on the other hand the Riot Shield has a very weak lock, you can't even hit people in your face sometimes. Consider increasing the angle at which the lock works and reduce the lock strenght on the Dagger

FIX THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Backstabs with the Dagger are the most incosistent thing I've ever seen, a lot times either nothing happens or it's not backstab even though you're right behind them and other times it is when you're literally in front of them
  • Increase the backstab hitboxes because the latency of the servers causes this problems
  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

LH1 is perfectly balanced

@elder blade Its on light class, it has to kill the other classes fast. You can't judge it as OP because you're looking at the headshot only TTKs and pretending thats somehow easy to pull off in a game. I hate to break it to you, you're NEVER going to get a bunch of shots like that in such quick succession unless you're running aimbot. The game's movement is too fast, frantic, and unpredictable for such a thing to occur easily.

And even assuming that you were correct in that it needs to be changed, its body shot TTK is perfectly reasonable, all that would need to be changed is the headshot multiplier.

The only way you're getting headshot by that thing consistently is if you're a bot when it comes to movement. That gun requires far more than slight aim to be effective, it has a lot of visual recoil and its ironsights are not good at all for ranged play, so it puts you closer than you would like in order to be effective. Which puts you in range of guns that can kill you very easily if you aren't playing in the medium range sweetspot this weapon likes to have like the XP does regarding weapons around it.

It does not need any substantial changes, the gun is fine.

Sure light class does need to kill other classes fast, and it does. But when you spam the LH1, iron sight recoil or not, the bullets have no bloom so it will always go to the centre of your screen (the gun is insane with an on-screen crosshair). The gun is super easy to just look at an enemy and spam left click til they drop (if you compensate slightly for it's super easy recoil pattern). If you're a solid enough aimer and spam an enemy, you're even bound to hit a headshot or two. The game really isn't too "fast and frantic" outside of lights with a dash. The LH1 destroys heavies and mediums.

The gun also has no damage fall off (or nearly none at all) so tap firing at range does insane poke damage. The gun is not comparable to the xp at all. xp has solid damage but nothing compared to an LH1 being spammed, close range or not. The burst potential of the LH1 outshines all other light guns. I personally don't know why it's not run more often by every light player seeing as how strong it is. Sure the gun is slightly harder to use than others, but the absolutely insane damage difference makes up for it.

There's a reason that the few high rank light players run either dash sword or dash LH1.

Like 2 months ago I had a player just riding the ziplines the whole match. Had another one throwing flower pots around, just randomly, not even at enemies. I had to ask if they added bots... Because there can't possibly be people that brain dead

Day 53 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no “pocket minigun” strats, choosing to use this is a commitment
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

Every other point you make is irrelevant. The LH1 is supposed to be light's giant feller. No gun kills as fast as it because it struggles against other lights and missing shots is utterly devastating to your ttk and will result in you dying even if you ambush someone and get first shot off.

No other gun has the burst damage the LH1 has because they're not precision weapons outside of the TD and sniper. (Which both have better burst than the LH1)

Your biggest threats are always mediums and heavies, so of course this gun will be used in comp but not anywhere else. Especially since it's not easy to use and it's devastating to miss.

Refund ranked fame for matches lost to cheaters. The mode is almost impossible to play fairly on asian servers it's actually a gamble whether you're going to have a cheater aimbot you from 200m with a lewis gun each game... At least then we wont lose motivation to play the game if we know we are going to get a cheater banned and also get our points back. I've dropped from #380 to #1000 purely losing to cheaters. This is not fun at all. I personally know over 20 people who have quit due to this and i'm not exaggerating. I can't imagine how many casual players quit because of it.

Most if not all gaming monitors have on screen crosshairs, deal with it. All of lights guns should be able to kill the other classes with ease, but the LH1 tops all other guns with it's damage output. Literally the only downside to the LH1 is that it's not good against other lights, that's it.

It is certainly not devastating to miss with a gun that has 15 bullets and can kill with less than 4 (obviously a rare scenario). If you played versus good light players with the LH1 in ranked I guarantee you your opinion of the LH1 would not be so tame.

Heavies being able to chunk me for over half my health as a L or M, and then putting up 1000hp worth of shields is just too much of a swing in H favour. RPGs need to do 75dmg max. Either give RPG two charges at 75dmg, or make it so “MEGA DAMAGE” is always active for RPGs with only one charge.
Quite a few guns have had their damage nerfed over the past few patches, so the shields feel stronger than before

That's the point, the light gives up being able to reliably deal with other lights to be much better at killing the other two classes. And given how close the XP and M11 want you to be in order to reliably kill with them, they deserve a mag size buff.

I play medium with the model 1887 and grenade launcher, I play heavy with M60 and shotgun, and let me tell you an LH1 light is rarely as dangerous as you say they are. Unless you are distracted, but that applies to all light weapons. I win more often against lights who use it than I lose.

I played light with DB, XP, M11, and LH1 extensively, and lemme tell you, the LH1 is absolutely devastating to miss with when your TTK entirely hinges on millisecond differences between the XP, M11, FCAR/AKM, Lewis/M60 that all have a much higher RPM than the LH1.

You clearly have gotten your shit stomped by a good light and just think the gun is OP. You gonna complain about how 'fast' the M11 kills too? Or the DB against all targets below heavy?

XP and M11 are in a good spot. M11s capability is good but if you miss a few shots due to it's recoil pattern you will not be killing the medium/heavy you engaged but you will wipe other lights. XP has good damage at close/medium range and you can one clip mediums quite well at a solid distance and melt heavies to low hp. Neither gun is forgiving to miss with as it results in you not killing the enemy but atleast you did solid damage. A mag increase would make either of the two very strong. The LH1 has the best of both worlds for beaming people at any range and being able to miss a few shots because of the sheer damage each bullet does.

In over 450 hours I've played against maybe 5 or 6 good light players in ranked who have been an actual problem and they've all used either dash sword or dash LH1 like I said before. I really don't get your point of the LH1 being devastating to miss as you have enough bullets in the mag to kill a single target if you miss a couple and maybe even 2 targets if you land your shots.

A lot of people don't realise how broken the LH1 is because light is useless outside of quickplay and good players who have the aim capacity to use the LH1 instead play FCAR or Lewis instead because of how bad light is in it's current state against a good team.

edit: with that statement you're now sounding like the average quickplay light player who uncloaks infront of you and stuns you, only to die the next second. Smart/good light players don't put themselves in direct duels. Either by headglitching (monaco rooftops are a good example) or capitalising off their team being engaged and drawing attention

I have been only playing Finals for 3 months, I have 150hrs to my record today and hit Plat 4 before writing this.
It has been journey

First time i heard about the game January from few friends and watched them stream it in discord.
I only got few thoughts,

1)Game is too fast paced for me, i never really liked CoD or any other single player shooters.
2)Too flashy and unrealistic, Have been playing Battlefields (4 and BC2 for ages now)
3)It looks little fun, light game play is fast pacing and really fun to watch. My reflection time is too slow for this game.

It took about one month to settle in, i did some digging on few Dev's who are onboard making this game.
Then it hit me, Too much correlation with Battlefield destruction and movement is like mirrors edge.

I wanted to try but hesitated, went into first match with heavy with sledgehammer and it took my soul with it.

I could fkn destroy everything and slide to enemies and beat them to death from above because Medium dropped jump pad.
My bad reflection times didnt matter so much, gamesense makes more than that.
I started grinding in some hours and got few friends with me.

It has been more than i ever could imagine from FPS game.

There has been Hacker problems, Solved eventually to better as writing after 2.6.

Only downsides for me has been for Finals is the theres not so much variaton after 120+hrs.
Yeah, Any game aint the same or map couldnt be played the same because destruction.
Still there something missing, I love playing different game modes and Powershift and terminal attack made new spark.

I still would like to see what is coming, because this game has so much potential.
It aint over for long time.

Marketing needs more polishing in my mind too, havent seen any other than Discord "quest" what caused backslash.
In my opinion it was good marketing, theres almost never bad marketing.
You guys can reach more players if done right.

Ok Turrets need a hard nerf. One they have to much health. I have idea to solve how bad it is in the meta rn Each turret placed by one team should nerf the fire rate and health of each turret down. So for example let's just say normally it's 1000 if one more on that team is placed down it should drop to 666 for both then if there's 3 it would be 333 so about a third. I don't think the DMG needs a nerf but the fire rate should drop accordingly just as the health for each turret down. This basically makes it so having 3 turrets down nerfs them BUT if you only have one nothing is done to the stats

M11 is not only a solid starter weapon, they buffed so much thats its actually quite good if you are a half decent aimer. good hipfire, good/forgiving magsize, fast reloads and melts anyone in close quarters. they only real downside being its short range, it loses damage fast past 15 meters

@quick coyote The M11 is good yes (my 2nd favourite light gun with LH1 being first), but in my experience it's still not as good as the LH1 in any situation (besides dueling another light). Light needs some serious buffs to become a common sight in ranked. The glitch grenade buffs were a good start, the stungun and cloak need to be reverted. But even with those light is still weak in ranked.

Light class needs a pretty big overall buff. As of now, it is the weakest class and receives way too many nerfs. 2.6.0 ruined the dagger, which is already janky, as well as cloak, which was light's most important tool for remaining stealthy. The stun gun also got nerfed way more then needed: using specializations and gadgets is way too much when the point of stun is to neutralize a threat, not slow it down. The new s2 weapon is severely underpowered and lh1 is very difficult to control for a class based around movement.
So anyways, we need buffs. :/

This is just a fun balance idea, I know they should probably not balance that way and I am very aware that what I am going to present is very unconventional. So don't blast me for it. What if to make light more viable in ranked rounds you make the cash kill reward 500 for light instead of the normal 200. Like this, lets say the light gets 10 kills in a round, that's 5000 which could win you the game. Yeah but light has many other problems that should be tackled first, this was just a fun idea I had while playing.

ye, heavies are busted af. My counter to them is abusing movement tech with medium. But this is in quickplay where everyone is soo ass even with sbmm.
I usually run jumpad and zipline and you can do some cool stuff with zips. One is quick short zip into jumpad, it will send you flying like a jumpad on a sloap, but you have to be quick to pull it off. Another one is probably not intended Soo I'm not giving it away here. They already patched most of the cool stuff you could do with zips on release ..

That and 500h of kovaaks fcar beaming 😄

If you’re saying make cloak more of a positioning ability than a kill ability then I agree. I think the only way to balance it correctly is make it better inside but make it so there’s a delay to shoot after decloak. Maybe have hands out while invis and have to draw gun upon decloak? Would seem like a better use for it imo. @placid hazel never had that issue. Ranked plays the same as quick play for me but they all have poor server stability it seems like. My frames are always fine though.

Bring more players to the finals- give them something they can relate to and are familiar with that’s fun, casual and replayable.

Terminal attack was a great start. I like the mode although team deathmatch/ free for all is more of my thing.

I think capture the flag and a cloak and dagger/ an infected type game mode has crazy potential in a game like the finals.

I keep saying this but I think the finals players will really benefit from some of its existing and potential game modes being limited to certain landmarks on existing maps, rather then having the whole map to roam.

Make rank tournaments unique enough that it stands superior over all other modes, I suggested ranked tournaments being available 4 days or so of the week rather then always but it was not well received, I think this will really focus ranked play.

The trick is to get more players with the other modes then make rank really unique and enticing. if it’s always available then it’ll just be another game mode but if it’s a “windowed game mode” then it’s seen as something unique that everyone is jumping in at a certain time to rank up/earn special rewards but most of all to be apart of the MAIN EVENT of the week! Moving ranked gameplay from quantity to quality games.

So many implications there for challenges, contracts, rewards, and overall progression but I’m just sharing my thoughts ultimately i feel like this game will become really good. I’m confident that this game is in good hands.

Lights can be 1 shot by multiple weapons. Every single thing they have, has been nerfed. They even gave lights tracking dart AND nerfed it at the same time, when it was already never used. Imagine nerfing a thing nobody uses lol. Cloak is nearly completely visible at all times. For real dude, if you can't see it, fix your monitor, get a better one, change your settings, idk. But I've been able to see it nearly all the time since launched.

The single biggest problem with the game is the slow recovery of your health. It is so slow people will track you down across the map, so you spend large amounts of time hiding and running (not fun). And it limits the ability of a single player to make great plays—a critical element to any great PVP game. Cut the recovery time in half and watch the game flourish. It’s a serious game play flaw.

Give an additional $400 to a team that full wipes another team. Atm it's 200 per kill, so 600. If another team kills one, then you don't full wipe and still only get 200 per kill.
The early fights feel quite meaningless, to the point where if you're 1v3, the best thing to do is jump off the map and get a quick reset.
I know if the team wipes they lose money, but if it's really early, there's no money to lose from being wiped.

Heavy:
Anti tank weapon
perks: it can shoot through wall and heavy barriers but can only pass through 1 wall or barrier
Cons: it is very slow as a priary weapon and only does medium amounts of damage

Medium:
Fire extiguisher
perks: allows for quick smoke effect or puting on fire teamates out along with allowing to put out on fire goo walls that have been placed down
Cons: the extinguisher has a 30 ammo capacity per round after use it goes onto cooldown for 1 minute

Light:
Airstrike
Perks: allows the light class to go over to wherrever they want look at a position within a certain range of themselves and send a 5 rocket airstrike

LMH should have different health regen values. For example: light has a small health pool, but in return is able to regenerate it the quickest, this also applies to being healed. A heavy heals the slowest, also applying with heal beam.

invis should be removed as a specialization and instead focused on as the current gadget vanished bomb. as a replacement to that ability, light should get the heal beam. this will act as a natural nerf to heal beam as it will be faster to take out the player that’s healing.

Weapon gunplay and balancing: weapons such as the lewis gun, M60 shouldn’t have such a high recoil sway from left to right. i understand the intention is to nerf it’s accuracy over range, but i feel that it is too disruptive of a recoil and doesn’t make for fluid gameplay, instead, focus on tweaking the damage over range while allowing the player to be able to fire a weapon that feels smooth and responsive. those are only 2 guns i can think of that this most applies to at the moment, but i believe it’s a step in the right direction for gunplay.

Honest Gadget Comparison:

  • Heavy [RPG] minor nerf, still must pick (approx. 99,999%)
  • Medium [Defib] moderate nerf, viable pick (approx. 80%)
  • Light [Stun Gun] criminal nerf, dumb pick (maybe 50% of all Lights, but only because they are used to it and can't let go or they don't read the patch notes)

Just compare the pickrates and you will see the truth. Less Opinions, more numbers!

Ask yourself: Would you give up your RPG or Defib in exchange for the Stun Gun?

Solution:

  • Stun Gun should neutralize specializations and gadgets.
  • RPG should do less damage.

Note:
RPG is a gadget meant for destruction. But does too well in Killing or weakening opponents in regards for it's easy (no skill) handling!
Compare it to frag grenades, which is meant for just killing, but it's way harder to pull of kills with it.

Good decision making the default Quickplay mode one with brutal rules and deep tactical variance, devs.

New players will definitely stick around when their very first game gives them 30 second respawns on every single death, going up to 60 on a teamwipe. They definitely will not constantly leave the match and uninstall the game.

Players with 5 minutes experience will definitely understand the intricacies of 4 teams fighting over two objectives at a time.

rationale: heal beam should be a util used to heal teammates back up after a firefight, or in a quiet moment between fire exchanges, not a crutch tool that allows teammates to go completely idle in a firefight, except for healing one near immortal player that does all the shooting and takes all the damage, which is quickly replenished
This is targeted towards towards MMX, mainly heavy, setups where there are two beams, especially considering the recent balance changes making heavies demigods

suggestions: shooting a playing that is being healed "breaks" the beam and puts the heal beam into cooldown, or at least into a delay period. this would discourage using the beam during a firefight and makes the use of heal beam more strategic, instead of people brainlessly holding beam and standing still

Alternatively, the effect of beams can be reduced when there are multiple beams being used on one player, or the beam effect could have a different effect for each class/beam behavior could be different for each class(have to be closer to heavies to heal or lights get longer heal distance or heavily reduced heal but through walls for either light or med)

I don't like the idea of heal beam being the only medium specialization that doesn't require significant skill or thinking to use well,

  • demat can drastically change games with positioning, reverse the flow of firefights, allow for clutch plays and cashout steals
  • turret can protect key locations and even deter teams and partial-teams from attacking a position, however the placement and coordination needs to be well done in order for maximum impact
  • heal beam is an apply-to-all situations, free heal that can either heal a large chunk of health for all teammates or near-full health for several teammates with an irrelevant cooldown that is rarely ever hit and that rarely lasts long enough to disrupt plays or support, so many players choose it because they can't do well with the other specs

This games utter rubbish now, wait time for a game is long, random match making but no way to communicate if someone doesn’t want to use a mic, in a team based game, then the teams in every match are just stacked with whatever OP trash ppl can use. The thrill of battling is gone, everyone is using the easiest weapon possible, 9/10 games it’s ppl camping behind a shield while a light runs around and kills 9 players with a one tap. It’s only fun for that guy, everyone is either camping the cash out or waiting to respawn because classss have the ability the wipe a team out in second. There’s some really silly mistakes been made, the game fundamentally is good but it promotes this “easy option”. The battling was the attraction for a lot of ppl. That’s gone. 3 games I’ve tried to play this morning, 3 of them ruined by load out choices. Can’t make it so powerful against non coordinated teams, it’s no fun for the guys who don’t want to flame or rocket or sword. I enjoy shooting personally. But in this game I’ll often find I get side or back jumped by a melee weapon with a ridiculous OP dmg dealt value. 360 for some, that’s more than the Hp. Or a team of lights going invisible, how are you meant to aim at something you can’t see, coupled with a sword or mac10, Moronic decision for shooter.

This game keeps getting worse and worse, Seriously, I've been plat 1 / Diamond 4 and ranked keeps getting horrible. I don't know if it's the horrible constant changes 1) Changing everything every single week, cool downs, guns, recoil patterns. 2) They don't know what to do with light class, they are too cheesy / overpowered in the hands of good people using sword emote cancel or Lh1 and 99% it's a throw pick in ranked, Majority of the utilities of light class is nerfed to the ground with no use. 3) Anti cheat yes they're trying their best but too much damage has been done 4) What the hell is this arrow shit, Have you played Valorant? CS? staples of tourney / ranked play. Hell even destiny 2 has a simple and coherent rank system. What is this ambiguous arrow shit? 5) Spawns are worse than season 1, Who in your team keeps thinking that forcing third parties is a good FPS mechanic, people like fair fights, not to be dogged on by a third party that just spawned near you after fending off an attacking team.

. to start off, i love the idea of the aps, the ability of being able to defend an area locking down a room is fun
. but its just unfair in some situation all because the "fck your projectile" part of APS.
for a weapon like the GL that shoot projectile you basically lose the fight automatically
. and for powershift its basically mandatory to win (that gamemode need a rework tbh)

I’m not even joking, I’ve played 5 quick games now, every single time I’m in a gun fight, wich is fun, i get smashed by a sword or stupid batton, the shield guy, deals ridiculous damage with melee but normal melee does 40, so can’t shoot him - it invites a CQC, but he can one tap me, I’ve gotta get him what, 6/7 hits ? Or suddenly someone appears from nowhere for a split second, takes most of your damage, goes in visible. There’s just no point playing the game unless you want to camp to win or play, imo, silly weapons. I don’t think flamer thrower coupled with rocket should be in any multiplayer, guns should be more or less the same in damage terms - so the fight is about reactions instead of just one shorting. I just had light in my team who was using a sniper rifle inside the build in souel, it’s useless he’s always dead were a man down. Honestly doesn’t feel like any point to play the game gonna get laned on at some point, every match it happens.

I completely agree with you, but it can still be really infuriating to play against.

Yesterday we won two ranked matches against two Diamond 1 lights (#51 and #48 on the leaderboards at the time), both were blatantly cheating, spamming headshots with an LH1 at 150+ meters. Both with seemingly throwaway steam accounts. They even "came to get me" after both my teammates died while I was hiding to revive them, they couldn't have known I was where I was but they just immediately ran straight to me an prefired the corner I was around.

Luckily they were both lights and preoccupied with another team during the final cashout of the match so we could third party them and capture the cashout.

Bottom line is that the cheaters in this game are luckily often bad enough at everything other that shooting that in some cases they don't stand a chance against a well coordinated team. The worst cheaters imo are usually heavies with the Lewis gun, you're dead before you know they're shooting at you and if they're not completely braindead they can barely be killed because of the abundance of shield options the heavy has.

AGREED. Honestly, melee overall needs a buff- some small things like the mouse 1 attack for the sledge and riot shield need more damage, but the most important change that would make them great:

You need to be able to damage multiple players with a a single "sweeping" attack. Like the mouse 1 of the seldge hammer or sword, they should be able to hit multiple opponents, as at its core it punishes players for blobbing too hard in shields and goo.

i agree that healing beam needs some kind of nerf, but not what you suggested

if it only breaks, it would lead to players spam clicking
this may lead to the downside becoming negligible
but even if it didn't, it might make it annoying to use (granted, in a situation where it shouldn't be, but ya know)

and its effects shouldnt be lessened if used by multiple people
it would lead to situations where you are literally worse off for trying to help (because shooting would be more helpful for example)

the imbalance of skill in Heavy vs Light match up:

Notes:

  • i just want to say i am no top 500 player nor do i have diamond rank, but i am above average in skill level
    Light vs heavy is a one sided match up in favor of the heavy as not only he have double hp of light he also have almost as much dps as the light making a normal hit trade engagement
  • the match up is still very much do-able for the light but it require much more skill to win compare to how much - - skill the heavy need to win
  • 140 damage rpg
  • rising skill floor of light due to all the nerf and bad match up

Suggestion: my personal suggestion

  • buff light out of combat regen by halfening the time need to triger regen
  • revert all the controversial nerf light get like the invis 33% thing, stun gun and more (also remove the dash spamming cooldown pls)

  • nerf heavy rpg form 140 to 50-100 damage, and give it 2 charge to compensate
  • nerf most heavy weapon dps form rn around 200dps to 150dps or even lower

(also pls add nock back to all damage at least just the explosive ones, it'll give so much more outplay-ability)

@winged estuary Honestly as someone who plays mostly medium I'm glad they nerfed the FCAR. Now there's a reason to pick other M weapons again. To me it's one of the better nerfs they've done to medium. There's still plenty of people using the weapon so apparently they didn't make it completely unsuable. It might be better off if they slightly improved the recoil or something to make it a little easier to control at longer ranges, as it's positioned as a longer range alternative to the AKM right now. A change like that might be difficult though without making it too easy to beam people at any range.

@smoky gust In my opinion not being able to stack the healing effect would be an effective nerf. Maybe keep a max healing rate similar to that of one healing beam, but reduce the "heating up" factor of the healing beam if multiple beams are healing a single person? That way it's still beneficial to heal a single person with 2 healing beams, while they're not borderline invincible while beaing healed.

Fix your matchmaking, it's kind of frustrating to play a whole power shift game with 2 teammates :)
