I like cloning but the problem with it usually is that it works in lower levels but is lackluster in high Elo (see Valorant, Apex). As for knockback, I could see it being powerful on Seoul 2023 for the open space and death pits all around, but on maps without them or even the high-rise office map, there wouldn't be enough use for it outside of knocking enemies into another team, mines/c4 or a sldedgehammer wielding teamate
also good for getting people away from u to. and for the clone, just give the class that has the clone 3 charges lol
But getting people away from you in a straight line wouldn't be the best in a small room, or if they are behind partial cover. Another problem with the knockback is that it would be entirely awful for melee classes to play against, a group who are already very underwhelming, sans sledgehammer.
The problem with clones is usually "how do they imitate players aside from looking like them", and the answer usually is found in some kind of clone movement, but the reason this works better in Apex than I think it would in The Finals is because of the environments you fight in, It's hard to think of a building where very specific movement isn't required to manuever in a way a player would.

Knockback would generally be good in any way, especially if they made it so environmental kills actually count, but it would work better on some kind of impact grenade.
Denying cashout, pushing people out of position, possibly using it for movement on yourself.

I think it could work on heavy if and only if the knockback force changed based on which class it was used on, Light=most KB, Medium=mid KB, Heavy=Least KB, that way values could be easily balanced, and since heavy really shouldn't have good mobility

Yeah. There is a lot of ledges in the game that when you jump you kinda just get up halfway there and if you could jump again mid air you would be able to grab them.
That is the max knockback it should have on self knockback. It can just have different values for yourself and enemies so it could have a bigger impact on enemy heavies too.

I would honestly like more crowd control effects in the game.
Problem with the stun gun is that it sticks out too much and the effect is kinda strong in the sense of how much impact player stuck with it sees. If there where options to slow people down by like 10%-15% or that knockback grenade idea, maybe something like a bear trap that literally holds someone in place. It wouldn't feel as bad to get hit with stun if other things like that existed.
The only problem is I don't know how much those would impact the flow of the game and as there is a big focus on the movement it could leave a big impact.

I am glad that the devs are looking into giving some attention to the dematerializer, But I don't think that this is the way to go about it. The way it looks to me is that this was intended to be a buff, But in my opinion this takes away some of the versatility gained through experience with it. Making small holes to peak through worked great, and gave you more options mid-combat. One strategy I use was opening holes above enemy teams and dropping grenades through, But I think that the new change would leave me too exposed for that.
So here's the deal. I like the dematerializer, but I think that the radius expansion wasn't the way to go about fixing it's shortcomings. So here's how I would change it. The problem I most often have with it is that when you use it on a surface to move through, there is often an object behind or below it. Do me a favor, go to the hospital part of Seoul 2023, and on the second floor of the wards area (opposite the elevator), try to go down from theor. If you don't feel like it, what happens is this: You land on ceiling tiles. To get around this, you have to prep the floor below by shooting the tiles, or worse, use a second charge of the spec. God rest your soul if you want to close the ceiling back up and you went through both with the spec, because the enemies will just shoot through the paper thin tile. The same problem occurs going up a floor too. Things like this happen across multiple maps, in places you would not expect.
Pulling out the pad mid combat is usually not worth it, and can leave you heavily exposed if it doesn't work and you find yourself on Those Goddamn Ceiling Tiles So I propose a different buff:
Revert it to it's S3 state, with one change. It now pierces not just what you see in front of you, but also a number of surfaces behind what you used it on. This would allow a medium to consistently pass through a floor, ceiling or wall without impediment. 1/2
I'm tired of the heavy nerfs, like at this point just make the Rpg a dedicated destruction Gadget, like buff the explosive radius or something with all the damage keep removing from it

I also want to discuss a potential rework that buffs the specialisation. Instead of pulling out the pad to use the spec, it operates without the pad, with a small animation (Maybe a left hand swiping motion from right to left, with a glitched effect on it?). Pressing once opens the surface, twice in quick succession closes it (Left hand swipe from left to right?) This rework would have a couple impacts, but the most important one, It would be so damn cool.
More seriously, this would remove some serious clunkiness with the spec, and give it more fluidity like the grappling hook and dash have, giving the medium personal movement along with the movement types the other classes have, (heavy has movement tech and dont you tell me otherwise) 2/2

You can pretty much pull the RPG out before you get shot down in a 1v1 even if you just hid it and have to pull it out again and after that you probably still can kill the person you are fighting with.
If the deploy speed was nerfed you would need to have it prepared or use it more reasonably rather than just spamming it

If RPG was sufficiently adjusted in the that ballpark I could even see it having two charges even with like 100 or slightly more damage.
Reload speed comes into question at that point, but if that is too slow maybe you should be able to actually deploy it faster.
Really changing just the 3 animation values gives between pulling it out, reloading and putting it away gives a lot of ways to balance it without touching the damage and I am surprised they didn't go for those options seeing how adamant they where on keeping the damage high for all of season 3

- frag never does less than 120 dmg the hitbox is gigantic

- when i use frag it performs 100x better than rpg the consistency of insanely easy spamable damage WAY outweighs a 40sec cooldown for 140
legit running frag over rpg feels like an actaully good choice i dont think that should be the case

- just do a quick slide and it all good (hold W for a mili second then tap run)
- rpg and frag have different use, both are better in their own way, yes frag is better at doing damage over a long time but rpg is better at doing quick burst damage and is ez to fallow up for even more burst damage
(rpg in to C&S is deadly but with frag you need to wait for it to pop first)

your cm/360 is 13? For making nothing but exclusive twitch shots in a game like cpma/reflex I could see this working but a nightmare for tracking IMO. go to mouse-sensitivity and plug in your numbers until you see the desired cm/360.

fwiw 28 was extremely comfortable but still a little bit for consistency over long differences for me. most will recc around 3x & up. someone feel free to correct me. I may not have been finger/claw tipping then honestly.
There are some very skilled players here on low dpi and 4x cm - I personally like mine to be as fast as possible but have found that 3x is a nice middle ground.
Honestly I would just figure out what your comfortable range of motion is on the pad -> that you intend to actually use regardless of size. Figure out what is a 360 for you and do the math from there.

Train yourself enough with anything, you can make it viable. Goo is a good example of this, cracked out for movement if you have nothing else. If you can use your kit well, then it's viable, even if it's suboptimal. Sometimes suboptimal is a good thing though because people are less likely to prep counters

I also run pyro on all my builds, at least as a backup, to counter gas and because no one ever runs smoke so people can't put out the fire easily
Having a gas counter + dome makes it really easy to support your teammates into getting a cashout if you don't have heal

I personally run pyro nade, but the mines have been fun (they got me the nuke achievement)
plus the ability to hit people through the floor/walls with pyro is really strong

what ive found helps with lights vs cl40 is running explosive mines and just throwing them down while they are fighting you. the mines go off and they get vaporized

riot shield vs lights is kinda rough esp if they have pyro nade but when i ran it for like the last half of s2 dematerializer put in work in allowing me to chase down people and just generally close distance

Right now I have been running it as a support weapon using defib and heal ray while having the shield to help get people back up and hold points. Also it is very fun to just hyper focus on a target and run at them wacking them when they reload

I think it is the other way around. They actually see the totality of the community and it is what the individuals are saying that it shortsighted.
I feel like the vast majority of people on this server fall more onto the tryhard category rather than casuals. Moreso servers and forums usually become echo chambers, where people with differing opinions feel drowned out.
So even if it feels like the entire server agrees on one thing that probably still doesn't reflect what people who play casually believe and that is the majority of the playerbase so it is important to take them into account.
That's why it is important everybody says what they think, because everyone can make a good point even if they disagree with you or Embark does something competently opposite in the patch notes.

The lewis recoil was nerfed highly to the point it was annoying to use. The bubble shield was reduced to 5 secs, only enough to cover you for relaod. The mines were nerfed just because ppl couldnt see the incredibly flashing and noising mines, and its not on them. The AKM is nerfed because its also too powerful. Mesh was nerfed cuz ppl couldnt dash into meelee range and use m11 on a giant hulk on close range.

sledge is just not viable at range and you need to build around it with defense, C4 just isnt worth the defense slot, KS requires more than half the mag to break a single wall but it can so theres that, Rocket launcher is still ok for destruction but overshadowed by thermal bore in terms of destruction

Bit late but xp-45, taser, disruption grenade, vanish bomb, and either dash or grapple is what I used and enjoyed at first, though of those two weapons I think m11 is probably better if you can handle the recoil, ah and sonar grenade is a bit of the meta right now

How exactly is heavy limited in destruction when it has sledge? Destruction is already annoying enough with how many times a random sledge will just tear down a building with 0 strategic plans in mind and screwing over multiple teams. It has enough imo.. If you don't want to run sledge, or even charge and slam, and have the downside of limited range, then you shouldn't be askin for more destruction bc you ALREADY have it in the class
If the heavy had like a sniper that was slow and shot through walls that would be pog. But a heavy with no close range sounds rough

You can make up for lack of close range with Charge and Slam usually, but that doesn't always mean a free bail out of getting cheesed by a CQC Light

Winch is a crutch that will get you kills but can only get you one in a fight, if youāre going up against a team that kill will contribute but youre still depending on teammates at that point, I also highly doubt most teams run tripple heavy with winch

Thermal bore for the light is literally the ash gadget. They also have breaching charges which are low damage but blow holes through walls.
The anti gravity cube kinda works for vertical movement. But also barricades can be used to mantle up to higher floors. If heavy had anything more it would just be the same as the jump pad, which would make them obsolete.

Fun Fact: The Tracking Dart does 5 damage, meaning that it is possible to kill someone with it

Speaking about the cashout improving blog. ive read it till "so what does this all mean" and my first thought was that there is room for optimization in the field of spawns/respawns. So i was actually beyond happy after ive read the last textbracket where you confirm that you think the same. I also think that the respawn mecanic is a really hard thing to optimise very good because it it very complex and there are many different scenarios for different respawns. So please take your time, dont rush and do some surveys after each few changes like you did with the team wipe penalties. Another thing that i think is interesting to think about is the vault system. Right now opening vaults does not really matter at all, which is good for the first 2 vault of a match, because its hard to create a fair race between 2 teams after the first spawn. But all vaults after the first wave could play a more significant role and add more strategic possibilities to the game. And i personally think that the 30% granted after cashing in the vault does not really impact the playstyle and strategy of us players. (to explain that: one of the best things of the finals is the strategic depth and the need for players to think and calculate which objective or strategy they should play. 30% of a vault is nice to have, but i played a lot of world tour after the 30% change and except for really rare occasions at the last wave of a match, it made never a really calculatable difference to cash in the vault. To increase the amount of 30% would probably be too significant for the cashout itself. So maybe you could grant the team another bonus for cashing in vaults without deducting the amount of the cashout itself. I FEEL LIKE IT COULD BE COOL IF THE VAULTS GET A MORE IMPORTANT OBJECTIVE THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW: Anyways, i am no developer so may be the case that im talking trash but PLEASE feel free to experiment. LOVE

But even if that was the intended rotation (which I don't expect it to be) it would mean season 6 at the earliest for anything strongly themed and even then there is so much stuff that is widely different and would probably by prioritized: Spy flicks, Pirate themes, Space exploration or Space operas, Mobster movies, even just Horror, tho I think they missed their mark with that as a theme for halloween this year

What difference really is there between Japan and Europe if all you do is run with a sword or a spear or a bow and wear some armor and maybe have some magic in there too.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see like a full mage set with a pointy hat and a starry robe, with skins for defib being necromancy and fireballs for pyro nades, but that might as well be one page in a generally themed battle pass, with some really heavliy RPG themed season coming much later dow the line

Sure you could add literally magic attacks as weapons, that would be cool, but so far all of the weapons added had a style that fits with the general the Finals style in their base skin, and would those really fit that on their own? What else? A sword? An Axe? Can they really make those distinct enough from the two heavy weapons? I could see medium getting one of those, but they would still be close to what heavy can do.
Maybe a crossbow, that could be cool, perhaps as a sniper for heavy.

I think they should do a fantasy medieval season. They could add like different spells as gadgets or weapons. Medium could have like a wand with three shots that could happen 6 shots per reload. The shots could be like a fire one that lights people on fire a splash damage one and a knock back one. They would all do like 45 damage and would be like a 0.4 second attack delay. Light could get like a rune kit. Holding left trigger allows you to choose which one runes you throw (out of 4 types) you would have like 25 shots and shoot off like 2 a second.
There could be homing, explosive, tracking and burst.
They would do less damage then the throwing knifes but would be thrown one at a time. Heavy would get a massive greatsword covered in symbols it would do burning damage to anyone hit by it main attack would be a slow swing across the horizontal and left trigger would be a stance that you charge for 2.5 seconds before launching high into the air then falling down with your feet on the greatsword like a pogo stick it would do heaps of damage (130-140) but if you hit someone on the way up they would get pinned to the end.
Event ideas medieval event: only melee weapons and the bow+ new magic weapons. Let me know good skin ideas you are thinking off with this season

Lights get 3 breach charges, 2 thermal bores.
Heavy gets 1 c4, 1 rpg shot, 1 explosive mine, sledge or ks, and charge/slam
Lights 2 gadgets give them 5 charges to destroy stuff with
Heavy with RPG, c4, and explosive mine only have 3 charges
If 2 breaches equals 1 c4 then that means light can cause more damage to the arena/players and still have 1 breach left over
A light putting down all 3 breach charges will now out damage c4 + RPG
It would require heavy to use 4/5 slots in a load out to outperform a light using breaches and thermal bore
while 4 the mid, as a support specialist in multiple aspect, it seems like intel is one of its businesses.
