well you're right, it being in a specific large setting and it having the same type of shooting doesn't bring too much merit on its own

however, a game set in Modern America can still have great and creative map design, since the specific place doesn't actually exist. There are plenty of ways they can make a setting like this unique and come to life.

The cover shooting itself wasn't good in GTA5, yeah. You basically spammed the cover and shoot. Was very enjoyable in RDR though, since you had to think about what guns you had and could use, and you could do things like crouch or have proper fistfights.

GTA6 has crouching, and the RDR2 high-level fistfights, at the very least. The robberies don't seem to be "shoot your way out" type deals. In the gameplay clip we could see, there was a robbery with hostages which you could interact with, take money individually from, you could talk to your partner, negotiate with the police. You could also tie people down as hostages, and the game didn't 'fail' when you chose to kill one of them (maybe they haven't added it yet lol), +the police didn't engage you with guns until you started driving. so yeah, less shooting

We also know that there is an entire Camera system in the game where your crimes will be tracked if your face is caught on camera. When losing a "wanted level", your car will be known to the public/police still, and you'll want to have your face covered like in RDR2. +

There's much more, I think, but I'm tryna say that there's a** lot more than shooting in GTA6 **than there was in GTA5. And yeah, I wasn't really a fan of GTA5

By the end I actually was a bigger fan of the Abby-Lev duo than Ellie's revenge schtick, which I really hoped she'd drop at some point, but she just kept killing and killing. Some people are mad that Ellie didn't kill Abby at the end. I think that's pretty hypocritical as they would clearly disagree with Abby finding and ending Joel for what he did.||

TLOU2 SPOILERS ||Abby is so much more justified in all of this. Literally all of her friends and her entire world was lost, not once, but twice. The first time, she found Joel (who KILLED her father, slaughtered a hospital, and also 'destroyed' the cure) and killed him, and only him, not Ellie or of the Jacksonites. (super fair). And the second time, after Ellie kills ALL of her best friends in one go, she stops herself from killing Ellie and Dina.||

TLOU2 SPOILERS ||Ellie stills chases her across the country... On Ellie's kill list there is Jordan, Nora, Alice, Owen, Mel and very many unnamed survivors. Then Isaac, Yara, Jesse, Manny, etc. etc. and are all dead due to the stuff she started. Abby's kill count against Ellie is Joel and Jesse. Jesse was literally an unplanned reflex kill.||

for me, it helped that i was invested in the lore for a lot of seasons

and then turned my focus to gameplay and other things

so shifting focus helped not get that burnt out
