repeater was only an issue with how bad mesh shield was and how good bfr was. With mesh back in the meta, pokes effectiveness has effectively been cut in half and these low fire rate high damage weapons really struggle to chunk through 850 hp of shields

Honestly the heavy class on its own is the problem with bfr.
Bfr itself technically wouldnt be very out of the ordinary, but any great shots on heavy now have every weakness to heavy removed and replaced with an orbital strike to enemies hp bars from a long range with insane survivability.

I like The Finals.

Everything about the Finals scratches the itch I once had with Titanfall, and its everything I wanted in a shooter.

Now, search and destroy as a gamemode I find intriguing by design alone, but every game that has it out there right now is slow, and combat is typically hero shooters, its not my way to play.

Here comes Terminal Attack which breaks all that before it.

It creates a tried and true game mode known by the masses, takes the freedom of the finals movement, equipment, and the lovely touch of environmental dynamism and creates a brand new take on the search and destroy genre.

I fell in love and enjoyed my time.

I wont go play another game, I'm here for The Finals, I just wish I could bring back the mode I, and many others truly did enjoy, and it would help bring more people into the game.

Season 3 brought world tour, which was not great and had other balancing issues with the Winch introduced, and a laggy Kyoto. All those issues needed a scapegoat which became Terminal Attack. The mode was great for The Finals, but other the other issues in that season, led to Terminal Attack being the fall guy.

Yes, Terminal Attack had issues, but so does Cashout. And cashout has evolved over the seasons to be fine tuned and balanced, and if TA was around still, it would have had those same changes and been a great spot for people coming in from other games to get comfortable with the finals or give normal cashout players something to take a break on still in a competitive light.

The Finals isn't Cashout, and Cashout isn't The Finals.

The Finals is The Finals, and they have so much room to explore multiple genres and gamemodes that all work well, because ultimately its the players who will find fun in the game for what it is, and the modes to come.

Its not about copying them entirely, its about creating something unique in the shooter genre.

Powershift and TDM are both very typical modes, and they still do well because theyre not the typical for the genre. Powershift youre moving the platform like any other move the platform gamemode, but this platform is intertwined with The Finals environmental destruction by paving its path thru the buildings, instead of just down a road.

Its these unique twists that allow The Finals to create tried and true gamemodes, familiar with the wider audiences to get them into the game, but feed them small bites of what The Finals truly is. Because the truth is, most people just don't get Cashout. It takes more than the average gamer to be actually good at Cashouts inner strategy. And while it's a great mode and works well in The Finals, there's still constant complaints on how it runs as a mode and is constantly changing to become better.

You don't see the other modes being changed as much as cashout because they just work. And the finals needs some more of those that people are familiar with in order to bring in the wider audience.

A good portion of the community are the type to never queue into ranked, and play just casual cashout.

Another portion hops only into quickplay modes (there's a weirdly die hard community of powershift players.. I don't get it)

Then you have the ranked grinders which ultimately get looked down on for their efforts by the community rather than an acknowledgement of the skill they reach.

My idea of the removal of the casual cashout is in inference to the idea of bringing TA back, and not wanting to split the player base even harder between 2 ranked modes and potentially 2 casual modes for the ranked.

I'm of the side that doesn't feel a ranked mode always needs a casual mode tied to it, as long as the quickplay options allow an adequate feel of the game as a whole and preparation for the mode.
