Scenario 1:
Regardless of your choice of Gatekeeper, in mid-late game you are equipped with millions of artifacts, which collectively become so powerful that Sirens are just instant-kills, and Immortals are like paper armor. Mob level becomes a meaningless number, and mobs themselves are becoming meaningless because you kill them in a blink of an eye before they can unleash their own unique abilities.
Things to do:
Just mass-killing mobs.
Scenario 2:
You have very few artifacts in the early game. You have powers, but not God-like.
Things to do:
- Sometimes retreat, because you now can't instant-kill a big horde.
- Revive your teammates, because there are just too many mobs for you to handle alone.
- Plan on using powers wisely.
- Wait for regen and cooldown.
- Maneuver like a pro: narrowly dodge attacks, line mobs up, group them together, lure them to a corner, attract them to Cursed shards, or even use the map's 3D structure to your advantage.
Thoughts:
Scenario 2 is actually the fun part that I miss about the game. As the game progress toward scenario 1 in mid-late stage, repetitiveness starts to replace the fun, although the animations and my dps become more and more insane. Why? Maybe it's because in scenario 2, you simply "have more things to do".
Suggestion:
The "empire of artifacts" for this game is already built, and it's only going to expand.. As I said, artifacts become so powerful collectively, that even a "500%" difficulty level is not likely to be a cure to the repetitive feeling from mid-late game (because it will still be just a matter of time before you can instant-kill anything). But a new game mode with "more things to do" would probably bring a brand new layer of taste to this lovely game.🔥
