focus target lets you choose a target to have an eye on, so if you're a healer it can be handy to focus target the boss
so you can see the cast bar/buffs on it more easily
or can focus the target main tank to keep an extra eye out on him

So, he uses 2 base classes as the "placeholders" and you should be able to copy the layout from the HUD Layout pic in there.. Although the most important ones are 6 and 10 in the lower right (for placement purposes)

I didn't have a friend at first and had to spam 1000 needles on mobs to get 50. Then I got a friend and he got me from 50 to 60 in less than 10 minutes
the trick is basically you attack a level 59 mob and the friend who's not in your party kills it for you

I just did my Magic DPS quest myself and didn't really miss out on anything.
The characters you get acquainted with in your job quest do come back later in a small part, but I wouldn't say you'd be missing out if you didn't level all types of classes to cap.

for E7S you want to sharp thunder on primary target, use the proc on the other one. If you get a third proc, toss it on the third add. It's not especially worthwhile refreshing outside of procs after that point @errant ginkgo

but this relies a lot on your tank knowing what they are doing

but the tank is SUPPOSED to be aoeing/ranged attacking the mobs
so he builds a tiny bit of aggro and won't lose it while pulling
and remember, for WHM holy is a mitigation tool too because of the stun
so by spamming it you are helping your party survive, at least until the mobs start resisting the stun
(if you are super coordinated with your tank then you can tell him not to mitigate while mobs are still stunned by holy)
(which is never gonna happen in a randomly matched group)
also, don't save benediction
just use it as soon as the tank is low
tanks are more likely to die pulling a giant cluster of trash than to the actual boss

the quest to even get the weapon is locked behind level 80
you also need to complete all of the level 70 alliance raids
those are a pre-requisite for the relic weapon quest after shadowbringers
