My squad meets 2/3 attributes reqs. for two different level missions, but the npc says "challenging but up to the task" for the lower lvl one and "not ready" for the other.

What he says are basically evident of the success chance. Each stat you meet is a 33% chance of success, 2 being 66% chance

Let’s see: if you want mettle don’t bother with mobs and grind Fates. If you want clusters don’t bother with Fates or monsters and farm mechs. If you want fragments, pretty much only farm monsters unless the 3-5 skirmishes that give fragments are up. If you want coins, wait out a castrum spawn. (Prior to today)

@lavish vortex unfortunately you can't save two separate sets of melds. Would be quite convenient if you could. Best you can do is swap out some pieces in a BiS between savage and tome to have a good set of each, without having to remeld.

It's a situation where you're going to have to play BLM with low speed, RDM/SMN with higher speed, or just farm up separate sets of gear. If you're doing savage and can pick up pieces from there I can recommend a set that swaps out pieces like I've mentioned. Otherwise, there's only so much you can really do
