How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

you can still get aetherpool points above 60, its just that rate in which you'll get them successfully from floors 51-60 drops after that point

and keeps dropping the higher points you naturally have

so its not like you HAVE to stay below 60 arms/armor if you wanna keep farming, especially if you're getting kinna weapons which can make floors 51-60 at a low aetherpool alot harder after spending it @queen flame

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.
