@tender mulch smartest way to go about that is probably leveling them each 10 levels at a time (what i personally did) and updating there gear. i highly recommend that
- level your gathers first
- once your gatherers are 80, do custom deliveries for easy weekly scrips to buy white scrip gear
- use ishgard restoration to level your crafters 1-70, then leves become more efficient for the last 10 levels imo.

It's individual loot. Each individual will get a set amount of loot, regardless of how many players are in the group. Whether the chests contain additional items to roll on or a portal (or both) is entirely rng.

It's both a yes and a no. Odds are individual, so everyone has (for example) a 1 in 100 chance of getting the item you're looking for. This doesn't mean that having a party of 8 people gives you an 8 in 100 chance of getting one though.

If you're willing to spend the time on it (just put on a podcast or something) you could gather basic logs/lumber and sell large stacks of those. Just check your MB to see what sells the best.
I made a bunch of money as a Miner just selling mythril ore and you can start gathering that in mass
