new here so sorry if this is in the wrong place. im trying to rebind ctrl and alt to the side buttons on my mouse to see if it makes casting abilities on my hotbar easier for me, but when i go to rebind hotbar slots to the side buttons + the number, it will only take one or the other. i must be doing this wrong, any advice?

but are aoe gcds generally a bad idea if you have the ability to lay out high single target damage
because the idea is that one less enemy among full hp enemies is better than a whole lotta half hp enemies

@narrow summit I don't know of any guides, as a lot of it depends on personal preference and taste. Rule of thumb is just that every key should be accessible without moving your hand too much, skills ideally not to be clicked and so on

Double or even triple binding the same key helps with that. Like you can bind Q, Shift + Q and ALT + Q

Leveling roulette bonus applies only once per day. After that, you'll get the standard amount of exp that the dungeon gives instead of the level scaled bonus.

well im levelling them all together atm because they have the same equipment but then if i think about it if i keep doing that then it kight took me forever to get ishgard restoration points since i heard the point is higher for level 80 crafted item

@narrow summit I've had good experiences with moving my character with WASD+Mouse, and putting keybinds in Q,E,R,F,1,2,3,4 + those 8 buttons with a Shift Modifier, a CTRL Modifier and an Alt Modifier. Gives me 32 keybinds in total

hey so i decided to get the ffxiv free trial but square enix was being EXTREMELY difficult so i downloaded it through the steam client instead and it went well. The problem is that I've heard a lot of bad things about the steam client, can anyone who uses steam confirm or deny its usability?

Lvl 80 SMN has 4 things to consider:

2 minutes cycle: Dreadwyrm Trance, Bahamut, and Firebird Trance
maintaining your bio/miasma damage over time, this is done primarily with Tri Disaster, while this is on long ish cooldown, Tri Disaster resets when you use DWT or Firebird
Use Pet attacks to build Ruin IV

@tardy maple The only actual way of getting into savage raiding is to find a group of people or a static that is progging it. You can't farm savage without knowing the fights and having experience. And the only way of getting experience is by finding someone who wants to teach you. An FC is a very accessible and easy way of doing this

I'd personally recommend keeping the quests around because you can also get those in the roulette once you have them unlocked which still counts towards the quest

So, uh... question as a new player. I joined the Twin Adders, and they IMMEDIATELY gave me a quest to go get a Chocobo... except the lady at the stables says I need Company seals to buy one. And it doesn't say how many I need. I've done a few Adder quests in the line and even a few of the Levemetes but the lady keeps saying I need Seals.

Mounts FAQ

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

If you're wearing anything under i390, only 1 substat would be capped and the other won't, thus you lose substats vs i300 melded

@random inlet there is no "Dungeon" duty roulette, but most roulettes include dungeons
