The application itself is against the Terms of Service of the game. If you create evidence of you using it within the game, they can incriminate and have the right to ban you. They don't normally enforce this though, seemingly enforcing it only when you are reported by other players (hence don't mention or harass people with numbers). There is very low stigma against parsing in general. We have a version of warcraftlogs called fflogs for a reason.

For example, If you drop in 44444, then the result will usually be a 4, but in rare occasion, it can be a 5.
Take note that the produced materia (same tier or higher tier) cannot be the same as any of the materia you put in.

Combat wise, XIV combat is built around tab targeting, in another word, your attacks will always hit, you don't need to aim per.
What you do is use skill on the global cooldown (think of this as a real time turn)
Everytime your global cooldown is ready, you use a skill. Then GCD start counting down again, so on and so forth.

In open map, when you are doing story related quest, they are all the same. They can kill stuff. Don't expect a healer to be a passive job.
In a dungeon, tank's duty is to gather mobs or position a boss, soaking up damage, and hit enemies to keep their attentions on them.
A healers duty is to keep the tank alive, and help out in killing stuff, if stuff dies faster, there is less tanking and healing to do.
DPS job is well... Just kill stuff as fast as possible, and make sure that you don't take unnecessary damage and divert healers' resources to you.

another option to have a class to craft them. If you get blacksmith, by the time your MSQ lv reach 41, you will access tribe quest. The lizard people sell steel ingot, which blacksmith uses to craft glamour
but it uses crystal to craft, so maybe not worth it?

you get a weapon when you unlock the class for lvl 1 jobs
jobs that start at higher lvls may even give you a full set of starting gear
However for lvl 1 jobs it's best to just get some vendor gear (or craft some yourself if you can)
You'll outgrow it super quickly and once you start doing dungeons at lvl 15 those are your primary source of equipment
Because leveling dungeons award you automatically with one usable piece of gear upon completion

To put it in context - on my alt I created in 5.3, I am level 67 (64 MSQ) and have about 1.5M gil, even using it constantly to teleport all over the place.
