Resistance has the advantage of +180 more secondary stats through the 3 extra open meld slots
To use WHM as an example, their Resistance weapon is Crit/Det while the unaugmented Crystarium is crit/piety.
so a Resistance weapon for them with 5 DH VIII or 4 DH VIII + 1 Det VIII makes it comparable/slightly better.
