How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Once you've done the initial unlock quest, you will be given a soul crystal which you must equip to become your class' job.

@drifting ruin click there, then the Network tab, find the TCP connection of ffxiv_dx11.exe and you'll see the Remote Address in the list. You can then open a cmd window and ping to that address to check your ping.

How it works (bit long)

Everyone teleport to a region, then whoever has treasure map in that region call out their coordinates (you can use a online site to figure out yours treasure coordinate)

Then everyone fly there, map owner use Dig (this action is available in Action n Trait window)

And mobs will spawn, kill mobs, chest spawn.

#

Occasionally, on higher end treasure map, they can open up a portal

If you, the map owner, feel generous, you can just pass, otherwise you just Need the loot

Don't worry everyone else will get direct rewards like Gil too when the room is cleared

Then you get to pick one of two doors

Hullo! Can anyone give their opinion on what gear/set you would say is the first one you should grind for in the game? I played ARR and part of HW ages ago when SB first came out. I feel like I went through the entirety of ARR just using the gear you happen to get as reward/drops from MSQ and dungeons. I don't think I actually stopped blazing ahead until I hit HW and I vaguely remember working on Shire gear.

In short, if I'm just casual MSQ player can I just run with generic gear as long as I'm hitting the iLevel reqs in the Duty Finder? What was the first set of gear you would say someone should bother obtaining the whole set of?

@stark delta you have to complete them in order every week. however if you manage to join a party for iconoclasm it will auto complete and forfeit all your rights to loot on the other 2 floors for the week

@coarse pollen depends what you're "rating", some mechanics in ultimate are simpler than some savage mechanics, but it's the length of the fight at ~16-19 minutes, combined with long prog that can take months and people getting annoyed at each other, bored with mechanics and starting to make simple mistakes on earlier phases and so on that really makes ultimates a lot more difficult than savage

i'd say it's more like ex are a 2-3, savage a 4-7 and ultimate 7-9

@river solar you should try and sell them on the market boards using your retainers, if they're binded to you however you can't sell. Anything that is green or pink you can trade in to a grand company for seals though. Anything that's binded that you aren't going to use again just sell for the gil (none market board) as for the blue gear you have (legacy Dragoon gear), put that in the armoire in the inn.

@stiff osprey It guarantees a seal you don't have. Standard opener is now with a card in hand and Draw ready. Play card, draw, play that card, sleeve (guaranteed third seal), play, and you can reliably divination after that, on uuugh 6th GCD if my math is right? 7th if second card is bad.
