@silk vector thats a PvE skill for reducing boss damage, very useful. PVP has its own different skills for each job,.

So that leaves something else interfering with your connection. TL;DR - reboot your PC as a standard "yeah you've heard it before but it does get rid of alot of stupid problems" option and see if its still doing that after. Could be any number of issues at this point and best to eliminate the vast swath by doing that.

it's usually not a super significant thing but since unlike pots it lasts for 30m (which can be longer with FC or squadron buffs) it's generally just good practice to have food up for savage. And yeah, it can help hit certain speed tiers for various jobs

Well, food gives a not-insignificant HP bonus too. You should always eat food in savage/ult. SkS/SpS tier is also a factor, on top of the other secondaries you might get. But outside of savage/ult, the only real use for food on combat jobs is the exp bonus. Which is what Boiled Egg exists for.

for food I'd consider it as a "if you're doing savage/ultimate you should have that, there's not really a reason not to" but outside of that it's pretty whatever
like I mentioned, early on in the tier when you don't have as much gear, that bit of extra HP by itself can already be a pretty significant deal, even if the stats themselves aren't huge
