crafting a material generally uses one set of tools, while crafting finished items like armor pieces use the other set of tools.

Augment Ironworks gear - 100 Poetics for each Carbontwine or Carboncoat. 1100 Poetics for a full set of augment materials from Auriana (7x Carbontwine, 4x Carboncoat) - take to Drake in the very northeast of the North Shroud (x30, y20), then spend 180 Poetics for a second unaugmented ring. Paladins add a Carboncoat for their shield.

For ninja, you have to get another class to level 10 and then pick up the rogue questline (precursor class to ninja) from Limsa Lominsa.

Samurai requires another class at level 50, and access to the expansions.

The main positive for palace of the dead is that there's no role requirements for forming parties. A party can be 4 dps, 4 tanks, 4 healers, or any combination of the three.

That makes the queue time on average pretty decent.
