you might not hit the requirements, its typically based on GP or Gathering or Perception amounts, when you right click on it sometimes it should have text that alters the properties at that specific node

usually theres always a +1 gathering in the rotation of nodes unless its an unspoiled node

The only thing that really translates over between BLM and WHM/AST is concepts like slidecasting and how you weave as a caster. Everything else is pretty much uniquely BLM's

After HW, they do a cycle of pruning abilities that get in the way of playing the job, replacing them, changing other abilities with traits.

Ah alright. Also I rolled gladiator and the guilmastercsaid something about running without a shield. I read on one forum that it increases atk speed or something but I don't notice any changes in displayed stats. Any reason not to run a shield?
