money making is something nobody's gonna explain to you because that would hurt their own money making. There are only a few "public" guidelines for MB.
- Don't undercut, match lowest. Undercutting hurts the market and in long term, your earnings.
- Monitor prices constantly and leave an item alone if it crashes in price.
- The real gil comes from rare materials (from treasure maps, voyages, or gardening), glamour and endgame raiding stuff.

It means you're not gonna makes much money off it if you sell at that price, you just don't put up any doublets and let the price slowly reset to the healthy 60k range.

It really depends on the item. A lot of items can just be gathered from different places. Some, mostly glamour items, require items from treasure maps and high-end content, which can make it difficult to obtain.

Personally I prefer Gridania or the Crystarium. They're quieter, and a little less convenient, but at least there are fewer annoyances.

You can check out the prices of things on the market board and then buy up whatever sells highest

You have to check your servers MB, but in general Dried Hi-Ether is very reliable just because of it being for a consumable
