If you're playing a shield healer, should you pre-shield aoe's even if everyone is max hp? I know certain aoe's require mitigation in later raids, but for smaller raidwide damage aoes should I just heal people up afterwards instead of shielding then healing?

The thing with shields is that, outside of high end content, they're not really needed to survive and you can just use off globals to heal up after

Shields in general are "meh" to "ok we need this"

I'm trying to run an e5s party. I have never cleared e5s. I have it listed in party finder with the duty completion objective. I've noticed that I can't sign up for the duty if the party has both people that have and have not cleared, because my only options for joining the duty are either 'duty complete' or 'duty incomplete'. how do I sign up for e5s with a mixed party?

Anyone could already join from what I could tell. when I went to sign up for the duty in duty finder, the game said 'someone in the party doesn't meet the requirements'. and once the two people that had already cleared this week left the party, I was able to sign up for the duty

most cases it'll be worse, sometimes it'll be about on par, depending on substats it can be slightly better for some pieces. But generally once you can upgrade to i500 the crystarium stuff will be better (still a few rare exceptions though) @woeful nacelle

you can look at the item and tll whether it can be dyed or not before you buy it. if it has a little circle in the upper right corner of the picture it can be dyed
