At any given time, the queue looks at the first person in the queue and sees what they're queued for. Then it tries to make a party. If it can't, it moves on to the next person and so on. So after the first time the queue popped, it could no longer make up the right people for the duty, probably because they got pulled into some other duty.

how often do you guys use your botany/miner retainer to go and get specific materials?
the hunting venture seems very useful and fishing too, but I don't see why you would ever use the botany/miner ones when you can just gather like 30 items in one node

I use my retainers basically off cooldown when I'm online to grab materials for items I want

If you want a lot of something specific, it's a good way to get it quickly. Higher ilevel/level retainers can bring back more of the items they're sent to retrieve iirc.

Hello, I am new here. I just finished ShB and the Eden quests. I want to start practicing for Eden Savage 5 (Ramuh), but 6/8 (including me) were new to this. So after 2 hours, we only nailed 20% of the boss' health before calling it quits. I know a DPS like me has less responsibility compared to tank or white mage, but I felt like it would've been better if I partied up with say...6/8 who know what to do and teaching 2 people how to fight the boss? What's the best way to do this? Join a Free Company? Discord?
