Shared FATEs, when you do more of them you unlock vendors in the zones

Each of the ShB zones has a fate rank. Increasing rank gives a specific vendor in each zone a wider selection of items to buy using those new gems ShB fates give on completion.
I would recommend getting at least the first rank up in each zone. That's six gold fate completions. Doing that will let you buy the riding maps for that specific zone. Riding map increases your mount speed. Super useful before unlocking flight.

Getting all six ShB zones to max rank unlocks additional gem traders in the ShB hub zones and gives you a bunch of things you can buy. From crafting materials, to minions, orchestrion scrolls, furnishings, etc.

For Zeta, books are tedious but the real dumb part comes after the light collecting step, where you have to gather a bunch of crafted items. Sucks when you're unable to make them yourself.

Anima is mostly a Poetics sink but I'd say collecting crystal sand is the slowest part. Again, it's not so bad if you have a crafter or gatherer, but if you don't, you're almost forced to levegrind for amber.

Eureka weapons are actually relatively easy to get once you finish the leveling process in the Eureka zones, but therein lies the problem. The separate leveling system can take a while.

Current relic requires clearing Return to Ivalice, the SB alliance series. Once you’re finished with that, it’s as simple as a short quest chain and a solo instance. They just give you the weapon for free at the end. Great way to start.

Hey, a friend of mine and I just started the game. He started as gladiator eventhough I told him that I already started off as gladiator. How stuck are we with the jobs at the beginning? AFAIK dungeons start at lvl 15 and only one tank is allowed but we wanna play together. Is it easy to just quickly get into a new job? I probably have to get the respective starting city, right?
