Besides that, things haven’t changed too drastically.

The only ones that still have a failure rate are Hasty Touch, Rapid Synthesis, Patient Touch, and an uncomboed Focused Synthesis/Touch
Innovation also got split into two skills that buff Synthesis or Touch actions instead of both, but it got stronger as compensation (the synthesis boosting skill is Veneration)

Go to whatever grand company you’ve aligned yourself too, there will be an NPC who will allow you to take provision hand ins. You can use them every day to hand in stuff you make that they need and it will give you exp. hand in a High quality version and you get double the exp. @open jolt

No the bonus applies only once per day for roulette. Past the daily, you’ll have to queue for the highest level dungeon available to you.

Until you finish the MSQ? Nothing else is really vital.
Once you finish the 5.0 MSQ (assuming you've done that already), you can unlock Eden and YorHa and the optional level 80 dungeons, but the MSQ is the most important part of the game.

The first wing of YorHa (24 man) and the first two wings of Eden (8 man) are already out. The second wing of YorHa will be coming out with the 5.3 patch next month.

Once you finish the 5.0 MSQ (which I assume you've already done), you can unlock those, as well as the level 80 optional dungeons and start grinding tomestones of allegory and phantasmagoria which can be used to purchase gear.
You can also obtain a relic weapon for your level 80 jobs by doing the Save the Queen side quest which starts in Kugane.

You don't need to, no.
You can get the relic weapon first.
Eden and YorHa are both side content, technically.
And neither drops weapons (unless you're doing Eden Savage).
@hybrid owl Once you finish the MSQ, you can level other jobs, switch to crafting and gathering, or start looking for a Savage/EX static if that's what you're interested in. This game gives you a lot of options. The only difference is that you don't have the guidance of the MSQ until the next patch (or expansion).

Keep in mind that Savage/EX is, from a difficulty standpoint, most similar to Mythic raiding in WoW. Normal raids (of both the 24 and 8-man variety) are somewhere between Normal and Heroic difficulty.
And of course the Normal difficulty doesn't require a static.

So I finally got my RDM to 70, and I'm happy because I feel powerful. However, I'm running into an issue right now...
Outside of farming monster drops or rolling around in Eureka, I have a LOT of downtime on my RDM compared to say my AST(Healer) or PLD(Tank). If I feel like doing something, I can't just queue as a dps and get near instant queues.
What else can I be doing with my RDM while I wait for queues or just so I'm not sitting around in town in general? For the time being I've been offsetting time by leveling fishing job quests and crafting/gathering.
