They've stated that in theory they have unlimited apartment space. To date they haven't had to expand though.

Apartments have most of the same customization and decoration options as regular houses. Can't decorate an exterior and gardening is limited to single planters instead of the more complete plots. But they have a chocobo stable for training and recoloring your chocobo if that is of interest.

@stable hinge drks want a bit more sks since they want to fit 5 bloodspillers inside delirium. They usually aim for at least 2.40gcd but 2.38 is a shared goal with warriors and is quite comfy

How do I unlock melding?

Complete Forging the Spirit (materia extract/npc melding) and Waking the Spirit (player melding) in Central Thanalan.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 6 Materia requires an item level of 290 while Tiers 7 and 8 require an item level of 420.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

you can also run into some situations like, endgame gear is lacking in sps + crit pieces, so usually if you go for especially higher sps you end up with more dh and less crit, making crit less worthwhile to meld. But overall, the exact melds you choose don't make for all that much of a difference, as long as you're melding relevant stats for the job
