Up to you really. The mounts aren’t exactly difficult to get but removing the grind is always nice, slight as the grind maybe. Same can be said of the riding maps however. But their worth is debatable since we’ll have flight in ARR zones next patch.

MS roulette gives 7-10 but takes the longest per run. AV can be fast if your team is good or if you go as an all BLU party. Hidden Gorge PvP is... it’s a strange mode but not bad for moogle tomes.

Oh targeting with the X button is relative to where your character is facing.

And a little tip for targeting enemies. While you’re holding L2 or R2 for your skills, you can hit L1 or R1 to cycle targets.
It feels funny at first but it’s much faster than fumbling with X or the dpad.

left/right arrows for targeting, pressing x will lock onto the target, if you don't press x then you will auto switch back to your last target. also you can enable target filtering in settings. I made L1+X to enable enemy-only targeting, so that I don't have to cycle through party members, then I press L1+circle to go back to All targeting if I need to (I.e. when I'm not in a dungeon and want to target people for emotes etc)..its all up to how you set it up though

the difference between quick targeting and lock-on targeting is really nice on controller. i.e. when you're playing healer and you're locked onto the boss, you can quick target your tank to heal and keep attacking the boss without having to retarget

GC squadrons are exactly what they sound like. You get a small squad of NPCs to train up. They run mission and stuff while you do your own thing. Squads are how you can get promotions all the way up to Captain. And, yeah, a few emotes and personal buffs like +15% combat exp. and so on.

Priority missions, iirc, can’t be fully blue. At least from my experience I could never get any more than 2/3 filled. Falls to chance for their success but the rewards are pretty good.

Non-shb can be easier in the sense that you can take them on using the undersized party feature to trivialize dps checks and the like. However that doesn't meant they are easy.
A good place to start could be to work through some of the extreme trials of this expansion

I guess this might be silly, but outside of reporting someone for harassment, is there anything else I can do about what I'd almost want to call a stalker at this point? I was in their FC, but left because of personal reasons, and they basically just keep showing up. When I started my own FC, I went plot hunting (oh the joys), and they'd turn up at every plot, which was okay - could have been there for the plot, other than the fact that they'd just stare, targeting me. but now that I have my own plot, they've shown up at least 3 times now, just staring / targeting and not really saying anything.

It's helpful if you turn your stance on like 20 seconds into the fight (or whenever) so that you'll be 2nd on the enmity list if the MT dies
but this also means keeping a constant eye on the enmity list to Shirk or turn stance off if you're about to overtake the MT
Realistically, there's very little danger in just keeping your stance off, as long as you're ready to Provoke and take over if the MT dies, but it may conceivably bother people who want it done "correctly"

cos returner status is removed within like 2 days or so. it doesn't last long at all

I just started playing FFXIV a few days ago and I'm typically a support player. I'm trying to focus playing white mage but from what i've seen as far as end game rotations it seems like my rotations will be really complex. Would it be better for me to keep playing it to get muscle memory or try something else first?

It's just put dot up when you have to and spam your one or two attacks
