Hunt trains will get you the hunt currencies more quickly, but completing the daily and weekly hunt objectives aren't a bad source of currency either.
They're not strictly required if you don't want to or don't have the time to do them though.

Thin Air you can also stand to use on cd. Same with Lucid Dreaming if you're not doing so already.
WHM is nice because between our completely free healing spells and our MP regen spells, there's not really any good reason for us to ever go oom unless we're completely not paying attention (which I do... often).
