As for the current expansion relic with the Resistance Weapons, the first step goes by very fast and gives you an i485 weapon which is nearly as good as the current weekly tomestone weapon
@lilac mulch you need an FC to invite you or you apply to someone's FC by looking at their FC info.
You can always try asking for an FC invite in main cities near the marketplace area like Limsa Lominsa or Ul'Dah.

Ixion Mount can be annoying to get if you aren't in a discord that calls out world bosses, and the Demonic Lanner/Reveling Kamuy come from a level 60 and a level 70 Extreme Primal trial.
Aithon/Boreas come from Ifrit Extreme and Shiva Extreme, which are pretty easy to solo at level 80 and aren't worth the tokens IMO
and the other mounts come from ARR beast tribes.

Frankly this is one of those subjects which you just do instinctively and don't really think about. Using the D-pad on an enemy and then pressing X would do the job but I'm pretty sure there is a way so you don't have to press X because I feel like I don't press that too often
